    It has done me well! In cold temperatures. I think your last point at the end is what people forget, if you don't have a winter sleeping pad it doesn't matter how good your sleeping nag is you will be cold as most of your heat is lost to the ground.
    Thanks 👍 Rob

    One of the best sleeping bag reviews/info films I’ve seen. Awesome thanks! I settled for the Cloud 20 Sierra Designs as it’s lighter and has no zip so I feel more comfortable with more room to side sleep, but the OEX was a strong contender for the money 💰

    I have one of these bags.. it's an ok bag... I use a liner with my Autumn and winter bags it helps keep them clean and gives you a few extra degrees.. I did lose faith in my lathiathon ( not that it let me down ) so I saved up and got a rab ascent 1100... now I never consider the temp... oex leviathon is definitely a good starter bag..

      I'll probably look into buying a liner. The rab ascent 1100 looks amazing, I may upgrade to that next winter.

    Good video .
    I have the helios and somnus bags the helios i use in summer and the somnus in spring /autumn .i dont winter camp but if i did id definitely have the leviathan. I really rate the down oex bags .actually i like the synthetic ones also .have a couple of those too and ive not got any complaints on any of them .just use them as intended and you will be fine .
    I have a oex liner that comes with me if i feel its gona be needed just to add a touch more warmth .

    I looked at this bag for a while. Went for the Highlander Serenity 350. Less than half the price. Similar weight etc. Goes to down to -25, immense bag.

      I didn't come across that sleeping bag. My friend is looking for a cheaper alternative so I will let him know about it, thanks,

      That bag has a comfort rating of -2C (compared to -9C for this one). "Extreme" temperature is the lowest temperature where you not die, that's it. You'd likely still suffer cold injuries (frostbite etc).
      Also it's 1.7kg Vs 1.4kg, which isn't very close considering that it's a step down in warmth. As a synthetic bag it's going to be a lot heavier and bulkier than a down bag.
      Be careful, that bag could be past its limits on a cold British night.

    How many years are they stored compressed at the factory or camping store before they are purchased ? Could be decades !

    • @uptosummit_
      @uptosummit_  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point - I assume they are stored in the larger bags they come with, not the compression sacks, while at the factory/camping store

      @@uptosummit_ Personally I've only ever seen them stored in their compression sacks in the camping shop but I'm sure some will store them properly.

    Looking to get one for my son to go to the lakes with on the 16th August till the beginning of September it be good enough at high elevation as I do not want him getting cold. And have you used the bag again after this vid. Many thanks 👍

    • @uptosummit_
      @uptosummit_  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I've used it nearly 10 times now. The only complaint I have about it is that the feathers come out. That being said, it still keeps me warm, I used it last night at 2500 feet high.
