    Now that's a proper sound ! I miss that sound so much, nowadays planes sound like lawn mowers.

      Knowing Israel that is some sort of billion dollar stealth coating that renders the plane invisible in all spectrum's at the flick of a switch.... or its just old paint.
      And this is a KC135 really.

      @@cowboymickey You will be surprised, but the United States and Great Britain still have planes, 707 and they are older than Israel. By the way, it ordered new 767 planes

    I remember landing there on a C-118 Liftmaster in 1962. It was Prestwick Air Force Base then.

    I migrated to Australia in 1964 flying in a 707. that plane is bloddy auld .

    This is a KC-135 tanker, the USAF’s counterpart to the Boeing 707. I’ve never seen the Israelis ‘rename’ the F4s and F15s they got from us, so I doubt they refer to this aircraft as a 707. BTW, I might’ve worked on this aircraft back in the 70s!

    • @OnKeyboards
      @OnKeyboards 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a civilian 707, converted to a tanker by IAI (Israeli Air Industries). They purchase used 707s, install a boom and since there's no boom operator pit, they've designed a replacement- a stereoscopic CCTV camera, and the boom operator flies the boom while looking at TV monitors inside the passenger compartment.
      These planes used to be painted white. The new color grey scheme really make it look like a KC-135, but it is definitely not one- have you ever seen a KC-135 with a row of passenger windows?.

      Israel has upgraded all fighter jets with Israeli technology,weapon systems, radar and electronic warfare.No Israeli fighters jet is like American fighter jets

    • @OnKeyboards
      @OnKeyboards 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabrieljoseph6310 What Pepe wrote is that Israel never changed the name of the aircraft (ex. F-15 remained F-15 and not F-215).
      However I agree that IAF planes are unique sub-models with better avionics, usually with their own unique sub-model designation (F-15I, F-16I, or simply a Hebrew name (ex. Baz Meshupar = upgraded F-15 Eagle models A,B,C,D)
      The IAI naming upgraded 707 planes with a new name (E for AWACS, K for tanker) is justified because plane's main role has been altered.

      No it's not KC 135.
      It's 707-320 with boom

    I wouldn't have thought that Israel would have such a sorry looking aircraft. I'd have thought they would have either their own Israeli made aircraft or a 767 like the Italians. And those engines must be fairly difficult to source nowadays.

      These old b707 serve as tankers. No idea why they keep them tbh. Otherwise their airforce is extremely modern
