  • Black Hole Overture, is a piece written for symphony orchestra that follows the narrative of an astronomer on the verge of discovering a way to harness the power of a black hole. As it opens, we enter the laboratory as our astronomer continues to work tirelessly attempting to create the black hole. As he works, we’re presented with the theme of the black hole by a solo horn player indicating that we’re close to experiencing the full power of this marvel of space. This theme begins to blossom and draw in more voices as our black hole grows and starts to pull in objects from around the room. Marveled at their own genius, our astronomer stands back taking in the beauty of this great void in the laboratory. As we stand there in awe, our astronomer quickly realizes the danger this black hole presents as it roars through the timpani. Our astronomer rushes to find a solution to contain our black hole, but it is too late as the great void is too much for them to handle.
