Symphony: Now In Color Movement II: Maroon
The second movement of Symphony: Now In Color, entitled Maroon, is a piece written for symphonic orchestra that explores the emotions and textures related to this darker shade of red. This movement begins by examining the color from a cold, outside perspective. As we the audience begin to look deeper into this shade of maroon, the color engulfs us and we begin to not only examine this color but feel this color. As the movement develops and thickens so does the color, until it becomes the only thing we can truly see. As the piece comes to a close, we remove ourselves from the color looking to find the next color.
