Mines pretty cool, it's called a "stuck in the highest gear" bike EDIT: I have gotten a new bike in between when I originally made this comment, and I can happily say that it is light-years ahead of my previous when it comes to build quality
Honestly (I know you're probably joking) but I think it would be nearly impossible to ride except for the most skilled unicyclists, because it would take away any core stability you have. I'd love to see someone try though!
My idea: Make your friend consume a white substance, something harmless and after them consuming it tell them that it was a drug. And after that you two ride in beach cruisers but your bike is a swing bike. Swing as far and as smooth as you can to make your friend feel like they're tripping balls
i just got my se bikes x city grounds blocks flyer delivered, built it and have been riding for 2 days, and can already wheelie it a full block se is a great company, im sure the fat ripper is nice aswell
Back in highschool, I had a teacher teach an elective course on bike maintenance and during that course we would get to ride various bikes like the swing bike, couple of penny-farthings and one or two tall bikes. Loved that class so much I ended up making my own tall bike and got quiet a lot of looks. Definitely conversation pieces but not fun to fall off of.
Hey Seth, I reckon you should try and get your hands on a reverse steering bike, like the one Destin from Smarter Everyday uses, or the one he sent to Mike Boyd. I think it would be really interesting to see what a dedicated bike TH-camr has to say about he experience.
It would depend if Seth felt it was worth all the effort of relearning to ride it and losing the ability to ride a normal bike once your brain reprograms to ride the reverse bike.
@@mr.berlingo8211 Yeah some friends of mine did that too! It works fine but it seems the balance of the bike is off and it's nearly impossible to ride. That could also be the frame or honestly the handlebars they put on it too though.
I rode SPD's on my unicycle for a while because I was training for some events... It's far too sketchy but some people crazier than me do it and love it. The hard part is getting unclipped in the second or so of time between stopping pedalling and falling over!

this was the first seths bike hacks video i saw. Its what sent me into the MTB rabbit hole. Just wanna say thanks for introducing me to this sick hobby :D
Wow, blast from the past for me. I first saw the original Swingbike in about 1977 at the Boys and Girls Exhibition, Alexandria Palace London, England. Forever stuck in my childhood memory.
I have an SE Beast Mode which is a 29"+ BMX cruiser. It big, it's heavy, it stands out. I live in Florida and it's perfect for city rides. I don't ride it often, but people stop their cars to ask questions. I did upgrade the brakes from Tektro mechanical disc brakes to Magura MT4. Now it actually stops.
Hell yer, I rode a swing bike in the early 90’s. Dam right, I had a hard time letting the guy that owned it have it back as I was whipping around the school yard.
That swing king looks like a lot of fun! The coolest lowrider bike I have ever seen was built from a vintage swing bike, with the front tube all stretched out like melted mozzarella cheese. It was Fantastic 4 themed, but this was waaayyy before the modern glut in super hero movies and shows, it was in 1995 I think.
I have that exact same 40yr Fat Ripper, and I LOVE IT!!!! Monster truck bicycle. I'd love the 7spd rear from the OM-Duro though!!! I may step the front sprocket down a tooth or 2.

I have 3 pretty decent little bikes, 2 Giants and 1 Motobecane as a Road, Touring Trail, and full suspension mountain bike. Love all 3 of them as 'Real' Bikes you can commute on in their own ways... Then I picked up a used Mongoose Beast single speed fat tire bike that weights 56 POUNDS as a joke, figured I would ride it once with my friends for laughs. Weird thing is we got lost that day and I road it 46 miles! That bike won me the nickname the BEAST for riding it that far, and now it's in my fleet permanent as a just fun bike to throw around from time to time. Of note it's actually a hoot to ride over curbs and really anything else that gets in my way ;-)
I have a 1990 Trek that I've converted into a singlespeed and put on an 80mm front suspension fork even though it was never designed for it. It gets all the weird looks at the mountain bike rides. It's good to know there's someone else out there like me!
I don't know anyone that rides a bike aside from those who can't afford cars. I don't know anyone who like bikes or skateboards for a hobby where I live. I just go around town, up and down stairs with a fat bike. I love it. I can haul ass with it too down the crappy sidewalks that are buckling and making little jumps on my way to the store for my lunch break. It's faster to get around than my skateboard and I use it in the afternoons mostly to bring me to my skatespots. It's odd to my friends who live out of state and ride bikes. one is a BMX guy and the other rides trails and camps out in AZ.
For me, the best was the halfbike. Its really making me interested on it (nope, not buying for I'm not rich heheh) It's kind of a nice innovation for a very portable means of transport. And I think it also deserves a seat.
I built a bike very similar to the half bike for the New Belgium Brewery bike parade that is called "The Tour de Fat". Very fun event held Labor Day weekend in Fort Collins, CO. I started with a stationary bike and made it non-stationary. It used a skateboard truck on the back for steering. I replaced the drive wheel with a BMX wheel so I could coast, The original I had to keep peddling and couldn't stop peddling to recover when I got out of control, which was quit often. I rode it many years for the Tour de Fat. It took me over a week to be able to ride it. It is a huge parade, way over ten thousand riders. I don't know how to include a picture of it, otherwise I would.
the one with fat tires isnt weird its actually kinda dope! it reminds me of the drag cars especially in the gear jammers class (youll understand what im talking about if your into drag racing) the fat and thicker tires go for better burnouts and last alot longer
Between my tall bike, recumbent, the left hand drive fixie ,and my 20-in trials bike, I think I got you beat on freak bikes. Zero competition on your unicycle skills though. I can't even mount one LOL. great videos 👍
I have a Dutch "grandma bike", I found it in an alley, both tires flat, rust eating away everything... so I rang some doorbells, asked if they knew whose bike it was, but no one had a clue. So I put a note on it, waited 30 days, and left my phone number with the people living there. Took the bike home, fixed it up, and now it is my secondary bike next to my hardtail.

Stilts S Theres probably a stem you can buy that turns any bike into one, but maybe not
I have built one by welding a second stem on, then the steering is via a lever, not gears as per most reverse steer bikes.
ya that is a very good idea nad would be very interesting
