I have them both and I would pick the Mach X 10/10 times. It's just a better daily trainer in my opinion. The speed is better for faster stuff but 80% of my runs are easy and the mach x is better at those paces for me. Most of the foam in the ball of the foot is pebax, so i'm not really worried about the EVA. I would get the mach x and a carbon plated shoe and call it a rotation.
I love fact that you run with one on each foot. I have not seen that before, but have tried the same with skis and its amazing how if helps bring out the differences between the two. Nice review. Count me a subscriber.
Train in Speed 3, have had the Mach X on and didn't feel as light or as much energy return for me...Mach is deffo softer...but not as bouncy as Speed 3...so really depends if you prefer cushion or bounce...in terms of stability Speed 3 is slightly less stable...Mach is a bit mor stable in heel due to the EVA. I enjoy the saucony speed series tried version 1 and currently in version 3 . I like version 3 ; versatile shoes and the saucony endorphin speed 3 is also wider which works better for me ; hoka has often been too narrow for me to wear.

For me the Speed 3 was super disappointing, the forefoot foam feels cheap, stiff and relatively thin so I found myself trying to be a heel striker to get some cushioning. There's also no rocker to transition from a heel strike, so for a forefoot runner like me I just couldn't find my stride. No one else seems to feel this way so it might just be me, maybe because I'm not a generally a fan of drops over 5mm. The Rocket X 2 is my favorite of all time and it isn't much more expensive than the Mach X, but I assume the Mach X would last longer. JMHO
Thanks for the review. What does it mean when people say “my size is 9” - does it mean my feet measures 8.5 without socks (or exact number measured in cm without adding any empty space) and so the true to size or “my size” would be adding half to 8.5 and so that is then “my size is 9”?
How does the Clifton 9 compare to the Mach X? They seem like they're very close in drop, weight, and based on this video, probable intended usage. Anyone have experience with both?

Hoka Mach X smokes the Speed 3! The endorphin speed 2 was my all time favorite shoe and they screwed it up with the 3…. The Hoka feels soooo similar to the 2 and it’s now my go to shoe!
Im not sure how responsive ppl are on these chats, I’m looking for track/park run shoe something for 5km- 10km races which can be very responsive and not too stacked, what would you guys recommend? My pb for 5k is 18:25 need to break that 😭 I use adios pro 2 atm need replacement

I love the mach 4s..I don’t like the 5s as much tbh..but I think Machs are my fav shoe….by god those blue shoes are horrid. Clearly Saucony are THE brand.

Just to point out. Speed 2 and speed 3 are quite different shoes.

Mach X felt snappier and smoother on testing today, it also really hugs the foot
No one has talked about adding a plate into the Mach 5 and the Mach X could not be a more different shoe than the Mach 5.

Speed 3 has a far better feel and response from the rocker design than the hoka, speed 3 is also more breathable on the upper.

Hokas wide fits more like the speed 3 regular, though the Mach 5 felt wider than the 4
How can you run 600 miles in the speed 3? Mine are totally up after 300 miles and I feel that in my legs. (I have now used 5 pairs of them)
