What about connecting the cables to the derailleurs. How do you get the pinch bolts to secure the cable without destroying the cable?

mate if ok if i didn't put the 5mm ferrule into the shifter at the brake housing side? i forgot and dont want to redo the work. i was on red 22

The barrel stopper at the end of my gear cable jumps out of its holder - the hole in the red wheel inside the shifter body. It’s sram force. I’ve tried everything but it will not stay in place.

Does the cable outer need a feral/cable guide on the end that enters the shifter, like the shimano ones do?

Yes the cable uses a feral on the shifter end!
