Activated carbon raw materials are coal, coconut shell and wood. i have seen coconut shell activated carbon which manufactured from coimbatore and exported to petrochemical plants, there it is using to purify the chemicals( eg. ethylene glycol) in final stage to increase the quality. this coconut from its whole body to shell everything is raw material for making somany things.. great precious nut. but unfortunately it so hard to maintain in our kerala lands, expense is more and no profit for maintaining the coconut tree.
