    I found a Coach Outlet tote at a Marshall's store. I love the color. I've been doing a lot of research to see if it could be fake, but it seems authentic. From what I've read, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls vet their bags and don't sell counterfeits. I do understand that their outlet items are of lower quality. This tote was made in Indonesia.

    I was looking at bags at a thrift shop and the lady showed me an “authentic “ vintage coach bag, it had cell phone pockets and was cheaply lined inside. I told her she had it priced too high as it is fake. The next time I went in the store is was on the rack for $5 😂

    Love it! As a vintage collector I am always thrilled to see videos where I can learn more, and I had no idea about the misspellings, usually I don't get that far before spotting the fake but there are some good fakes out there and I really appreciate the information!!

    Super helpful tips! I’m doing a bit of decluttering and am realizing that I might unfortunately have a few fakes that I’ve picked up over the years. I took some photos today and was going to post in the fb groups you mentioned but sadly they aren’t accepting new members.

    If you are looking for the vintage bags, good luck so is everybody else and their mother. The newer bags do not always have the leather creed patch some just have a cloth tag on the inside of the lining. The variances are too numerous to mention with the newer bags just do your research .... Good Luck !!

    I found a fake "made in Korea" at a thrift shop listed for a lot of money. i told them it was fake and at their listed price, a concern to their shop's reputation. I don't know what they decided to do with that information. I hope they did the right thing...

    Great at explaining how to spot a fake Coach. What about the zippers from all era’s of Coach?

    • @birdybloom2
      @birdybloom2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are any different types of zippers used. Most commonly talon and YKK but a YKK zipper doesn’t make a bag real. Maybe I can go over a variety of zippers!

    I just purchased a Coach Outlet Minetta bag and the creed doesn't include the manufacturer location and it doesn't have a white tag sewn in, but it's still legit. The patch is real leather and stitched the proper method where it's vertical on the left and right side. Also, some bags don't always have the YKK on the zipper and that doesn't always mean it's fake, either. My style number matches exactly with what is shown on the coach outlet site, all hardware is embossed, stitching is perfect, zipper is smooth and any other indicators are accurate. There are sometimes exceptions to the rule, which make it a little more confusing to figure out.

    • @birdybloom2
      @birdybloom2  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      These tips are for bad ‘Vintage’ Coach Fakes if you didn’t catch that ;) YKK zippers were used on authentic and counterfeits, as were other zippers. That is correct;)

    • @birdybloom2

      Do you mean a video where the bag looks good initially but is fake? That is harder to teach as it takes a long time to learn this. I do have a video that I will be sharing soon comparing a ‘decent’ fake with an authentic bag. I love a good 70’s bag! Wish you could share pics here!! 😍

    I have a British tan wallet check book length with striped lining, has no stamp believe its vintage. Has a coach metal label on zipper pull. Was wondering if its real or just really old.

    • @birdybloom2
      @birdybloom2  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This sounds like a potential Sonoma wallet. Wallets do not have creed stamps. It likely has a made in stamp somewhere on it. You can get it authenticated (for free) either in Vintage Coach Eyecandy on FB or Coach Counterfeits. Good luck!

    would you know if vintage coach on their website, is pre-used?

    • @birdybloom2
      @birdybloom2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is all pre-used and rehabbed mostly by a specific rehabber Debbie the restorer (though not all). I have yet to see a NWT Vintage Coach bag sold but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened and definitely doesn’t mean that it won’t happen because if we can get them, they can too! One would hope that it would be advertised as such.

      Vietnam is a very common factory location but not for Vintage more so for more ‘recent’ bags. I can’t say that it is real with just info but it doesn’t make your bag fake;)
