Good advice getting the scanner tool. Hey did replacing the Wabco valve do the trick? Seemed like the wiring to the valve was the problem on ours, but it is a pain finding the parts
Nope on mine it was definitely the valve when you run the pressure differential test to see how much def is flowing and how much air is being used it will tell you if the valve is operating within it's parameters you will probably need to do a Regen to really monitor the def flow/air pressure while watching levels on the computer.
I dont even remember i think it was just a cheap asus laptop now i'm using a 350.00 hp laptop , the laptop dosent really matter as long as it has the memory to store the software and a decent processing speed.
The launch x431 tablet will do the same thing ...for about 2500 and u never have to pay for it each year it will work forever free plus .....it does ANY BRAND OF TRUCK from cat to cummins I love mine
I got one in eBay for 999 runs great I deleted my self that pain in the ass if you know what I mean. Belive me you can do wonderful things with the diagnostic link 8 and the dd back door password bc you gonna need it if you wanna change Parameters
All that's left to do is download the driver from the nexiq website i"m assuming the software is preloaded on the laptop if not you have to buy that also.
You cannot scan the truck without a porthole to Detroit Diesel. Remember if you sign up to Detroit you must sign up to freightliner as well. Detroit is only the drive train amd after treatment. Also this tool works for international, volvo, hino, and many others. Just have to have the correct hookup to communicate to the j1939.
Can the basic version do scr efficiency tests and clear codes? Or do I need the pro version?
