Obviously each and every element of your Vlog was just super awesome but my fav was that you knew were Jamnagar was and also greeted the couple in Gujarati. You just are not traveling to fullfill your dream of seeing all states and UTs of India but it seems wherever you go you try to gel up with that place, its people and its culture so easily. I don't know how long back you might have visited Gujarat and still you remembered a small district of it and also you could instantly greet in Gujarati without taking time to remember the language. People tend to forget such short lasted memories but you are different. Me being from Gujarat makes me so proud that an outsider (our very own Indian though) knows our places and culture so well. You are just awesome Karl. Keep surprising us with such vlogs of unexplored places. I wish i could steal your travel list. 🤣🙈
As a Maldivian, idk why I always felt a different feeling towards minicoy as long as since I knew about it. I feel like the people of Minicoy and Maldives should interact more. I can't believe thre is a lighthouse there, with a writing on the bottom, written in perfect maldivian language in a very old style though. We should exchange better relationship with the lakshadweep people, esepecially minicoy. I am sure in a speedboat its just like 3-4.5 hours away. Or 15 hours by boat from the north of maldives, we can even send each other shipments, do business etc. I hope one day Maldivian and Indian government would invest more into this. It's not a matter of nationalism but a link that should exist between so related people. There is no other island nation in the world similar to Maldives, with a culture like us. At least not as close as the people and island of Minicoy. Very nice
And till date they speak dhivehi language. As a person from Addu I feel more connected to them because they are out most close neighbors like 136 km away from the island

It is our beautiful lakshadweep
@abdullahzakariyya1569 actually Dhivehi (Divehi) is, most definitely, not a script. It is a language. The current script used to write Divehi is Tana, also spelt as Thaana. Are you from India (or is it Yendiyaa?), @abdullahzakariyya1569 ?
@@lalitakumarimahaur2195 actually, Divehi is not spoken in the Laccadive and Amindivi islands. It is spoken only in the Maldives and Minicoy. The Laccadive and Amindivi islanders speak a dialect of Malayalam, while Minicoy islanders speak Divehi, which the Indian colonial authorities refer to as "Mahl". Your idiots don't realise that "Mahl" comes from the world "Maldives", which some people pronounce as "Mahldeeb", which means "Maldive Islands". Divehi is an Aryan language (other Aryan languages include Icelandic, Farsi, Sinhala, English, German, French Dari, Latin and Russian among many others). Please tell your colonial authorities to get a brain.

Thank you 🙏 Although I wouldn't say I'm touring India, India is my love and my life.
That notice is written in Dhivehi (Maldivian Language) in Thaana script (Maldivian writing system).
Basically it says it's against the law to smoke cigarettes and use tobacco products in public. And action will be taken against those who abuse the law.
Thank you! That's a very good sign 👌🏻
Why did the guy say that's written in Urdu when it was in fact written in Dhivehi?
Islamic restrictions make Lakshadweep a place I will probably avoid due to all these Bullshit restrictions. It's not as if I won't pick up my butt or leave bottles of beer around. But why aren't they allowing it? Shame I can't do that in a place that's a part of India.

Thanks Bhai. I'll be back in GJ very soon too
@@KarlRock sure. We would love to host you. 😀

I'm from the Maldives and I'd really love to visit this place someday. This is the only other place in the world that uses our language and writing system.
I think I've seen the script in Kozhikode and Mallapuram,Kerala too..

Who is here after the Maldives fiasco😅😅.
It was in December 1976, that India and Maldives signed a maritime boundary treaty whereby Minicoy was placed on the Indian side of the boundary.
the script is thaana. we use it in maldives. minicoy used to be a part of maldives a long long time ago.
Why it got separated??
@@abhimanusingh66 one of the kings made a treaty with Ali Raja of Kannanoor and gave that part to them. Of course the kingdom of Ali Raja fell under the British Raj and eventually the newly formed country of India.
Back then we didn't have nationalism and we'll defined nations. Only subjects of Kings. Although few rulers espoused values of fascism like Malik Anbar and his Queen master before him .
@@abhimanusingh66 Maldives lost Minicoy in 1752 when Ali Raja of Kannur attacked Maldives and took captive the King of Maldives and the crown prince and some ministers. From Ali Raja Minicoy went into the hands of British and from British it became part of the Independent India. There was a referendum in Minicoy. It was either India or Pakistan. There was no question of Maldives. As Maldives a Protected State of UK.
