Wild Robot looks beautifully animated! I heard that it’s a book series. Jay..as an animation student I actually got to tour a studio as they were working on Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. I also found it refreshing that there was very little dialogue in the movie. And fellow Canadian, Bryan Adams, supplied the awesome soundtrack too.
I thought the same thing. Group of misfits who spend most of the time bickering but learn to work together and become a family. It even uses an ELO song.
The trailer for border lands is in the same situation as dungeons and dragons that came out last year, the trailer gave off guardians of the Galaxy vibes and people weren’t excited and it ended up being a massive hit so hopefully it’s a massive hit
I feel like the Wild Robot movie is like someone watched the old Overwatch short on Bastion, complete with bird friend, forest, and little talking from the bot. Btw: Cimarron is any domestic animal that escapes and becomes an animal of the wild
God, that was MY movie as a kid too. I loved it so much. Hell, I loved pretty much all of Don Bluth's movies. I preferred them over most Disney movies, because they were a bit more mature, and had darker themes and representations.

Adam, yes that horse movie Jay is talking about is a real DreamWorks movie Matt Damon and James Cromwell are the main voices in it It came out in like 2001
So underrated. I saw it in theaters too and, even though I’m not as attached to the movie as Jay clearly is, I still felt personally attacked when Adam hadn’t even heard of it 🤣
that line about “everyone wants to save the world they just disagree on how” is exactly the plot of fallout 4 shortened each faction has their own way of saving the world but they each disagree how to do it
My wife and I play one game. Fallout. we're VERY excited. We travelled around the US in an RV last year and one of the main things we hit were all the places in West Virginia that are in F76.
Yes, you should play Isolation. It takes place 15 years after Alien, 5 years before Romulus, and ties into Aliens well because you can find out why the Company (Weyland-Yutani) never found the Derelict and where the signal from Alien came from. Also, If you have it on Xbox One (w/ Kinect) or PS4 Pro with a camera, it can track your head movements and sound level, making it extra creepy.
Rebel Moon from what I read was actually written to be a Star Wars movie originally but the pitch I guess wasn't good enough so it was rewritten to be it's own film. If you guys end up doing Rebel Moon you'll see the parallels very obviously. Especially if you think about that it originally was supposed to be Star Wars.
I was "fortunate." My Anxiety showed up right after a whole bus load of unassigned Whatevers pulled into town. 3 of them asked if they could hangout with me. I shrugged and said, "Whatever," and it's been mellow yellow ever since. Anxiety never even got off ths bus. OOOmmmmm....
My main concern with the borderlands movie is that while I don’t know those characters well at all, because I haven’t really played the games much, Kevin Hart seems to be playing Kevin Hart, and for a movie based on a game with such well-defined characters, that seems like a misstep. And while the Tina actor doesn’t match voices with the voice actress, she does seem to be playing the character effectively.
Kevin hart being an industry plant makes a lot of sense now. He has no range... and that doesn't mean you can't be an actor but you have to have emotional range. Ryan Reynolds plays pretty much himself in everything but he has emotional range and is more than a quick witted comedian in all of his movies.
My biggest issue is the lilith casting. Turning a Young vibrant rebel with a naturally Celtic appearance into an american woman with a wig and A jaw So square you could open beers on it
Thank you jay for pointing out the vault 4 door cause I didn’t notice that Walton goggins’ character wasn’t standing in front of vault 33. So at least two vaults confirmed for the show!
When Star Wars was first shopping around for what stories to do outside the Skywalker Saga, they were in talks with Zack Snyder to do a Star Wars version of Seven Samurai, with Jedi, that project fell thru, so he made his own galaxy to tell that story in.
Borderlands reminded me of Game-Movies from the late 90's to early 00's. Not a terrible experience...but probably not something you should go into with high expectations.
Spirit is a magnificent movie!!!There hasn’t been a lot of movies in that vein from Western Animation, but you should definitely watch/rewatch that movie before Wild Robot. Having read the “Wild Robot” book, I think that even the general concept of those movies have a lot of similarities
As a retired Goth, the new Crow trailer makes me cross my arms and glare at my screen. They could have easily changed the character names and made it another Crow story. I feel like the reception would have been far more positive at that point.
exactly, it didn't need to be the same character names but yet obviously different characters (just seeing the trailer you can tell that Eric and Shelly are completely different)
This was my first time seeing all of these trailers, too. My thoughts? Borderlands: 🤨 -I have no attachment to this property whatsoever and this trailer did nothing to fix that. The Wild Robot: 🥲 -Uhhhhh…Raise shields, Mr. Worf. Engage the levity armor. The Crow: 😶 -I like the first one but I also feel like it’s a tad bit overhyped. That being said, this looks neat. Not awesome, but neat. Like a 2005’s Constantine vibe but more violent and less deep. Inside Out 2: 🤌🏻 -The “Sar Chasm” bit alone might be the single most clever piece of comedic writing ever conceived and nothing will ever be half as funny ever again. Abigail: 🤯 -I have absolutely no idea what this movie is supposed to be and I am totally on board. Great trailer. 10/10. No notes. Rebel Moon 2: 🤷🏻♂️ -Haven’t seen the first one. Trailer looks cool. So did the trailer for the first one. I wish Sofia Boutella was a bigger star than she gets credit for, she’s such a power house. Alien Romulus: 🙌🏻 -The last movie wasn’t great. This looks like a modern take on the original. Give it to me now. Yum-yum-eat ‘em up-no crumbs. Fallout: 🧐 I’ve never played the games, sadly. But this did a much better job of convincing me why I should care about this than the Borderlands trailer did. I’m into this. Now I actually wanna play the games. Fantastic Palooza, gentlemen! Bravo!
Walton Goggins as Uncle Baby Billy in The Righteous Gemstones is his best work. It’s so good, Quinta Brunson changed her Twitter handle to Uncle Baby Billy for a bit.
I'm totally into you two playing Alien Isolation together, we'd love it! You wouldn't, but THINK OF THE CONTENT! You still need to do Ghostbusters: The Videogame though!
As a life long borderlands fan, that movie looks WAY better than I ever thought it would expect it to be. Not saying it’s gonna be great, but it will definitely be entertaining to watch😂
I will say in regards to Borderlands the odd thing is I almost feel like the casting of the side characters is done better than the mains. Like the Handsome Jack actor (dont know his name but have seen him in a lot of movies)(also I assume thats Jack) is a great pick if thats who that character is. The Moxie character you see for a split second is SPOT. ON. But the main cast is just so.... "did yall even play the games?" kind of energy
With games like Last of Us, Halo and Borderlands, not knowing the games from a player aspect, but knowing the property seems to help when looking at trailers or watching the Shows. I LOVED Halo & LoU season 1 and borderlands looks fun.
You can kinda see what the story is for Rebel Moon from this trailer... It takes from Star Wars, but it's really another story. And that's why people didn't really take to it.
17:25 When the guys were trying to come up with the actress' name in the Crow sequel, i thought they were trying to guess Thuy Trang (the OG yellow Power Ranger, who also played in Crow:City of Angels). Which is a connection i made partly because of Jay's hat choice 💛
theres only 4 Crow movies the original from 94, 2 City Of Angels, 3 Salvation (with kirsten dunst), and 4 Wicked Prayer (edward furlong)...there was a tv series that had Marc Dacascos as Eric Draven called The Crow Stairway To Heaven so this remake is the 5th
Came back here with a random shower thought about the Borderlands trailer: We've seen a similarly weird assortment of actors recently and it worked great - In D&D: Honor Among Thieves! In fact, a Dungeons and Dragons sequel with a new adventuring party (and the old one popping up to help in the finale) would've been great with this cast: - Cate Blanchett as the group leader, in honestly any class and race she wishes to play. So maybe... a tiefling warlock whose pact is about to go against her favor? - Jack Black as the voice of the half-animatronic, half-CGI comic relief (a goblin rogue? an aarakocra cleric?) - Jamie Lee Curtis as a cooky genassi druid - Ariana Greenblatt as a reckless half-elf artificer - Chris Rock as the only human in the group, a figther/ranger with short man syndrome who learns to channel his anger constructively into a barbaric rage Feel free to add your own DnD roles or a new casting couch entirely, if you somehow manage to read this.
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmarron has actually been adapted into a series on Netflix about plucky fish-out-of-water girls on the frontier (a "new dad" discovery)
For once I'm going to do what Adam told me to do and rate all these trailers BorderLands - 1 out of 2 equals 4 - I have no idea what this is, but I like the cast and hope it's good Wild Robot - 2 out of 2 hearts as I think it going to break my heart into 2 pieces. It can't happen, but I want the robot to meet Wall-e and be friends The Crow - 0 out of 0 nopes, Good trailer but nope, this should be something original and not the crow. Fallout - 5 oh's out of 10 yah's - never played the games, but this looks really good. so I had time to waste before going to sleep and I spent it here.
Was so happy to hear Spirit brought up in this convo - wonderful movie! Also really happy to see some positivity for the new Crow movie. I'm a big fan of the series and can't wait to see it!
Ok Adam, around the year 2000, Dreamworks animation made several "anti-Disney" films with male protagonists. Most of these were 2D animated and included The Road to El Dorado, The Prince of Egypt, Sinbad, Spirit, Shrek, and Shark Tale. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron was NOT a dialogue-less film however, and had Matt Damon voicing the horse with a LOT of Bryan Adams music in the soundtrack. These two things were its major flaws, imo. It's still fun to watch in a Dances With Wolves kinda way, though.
Your "Gaming the system.... BABY" shout blew out the left channel.
I gamed too hard 😬
ditto
As someone that's right-ear deaf, I was not a fan of that and thought my Air Pods completely died before seeing this comment
Damn it wasn't just me then
Luckily it only lasts until 4:20 I believe
I didn't like being called out when i skipped to fallout
WELL THATS WHAT YOU GET!
I love that you did.
Right how rude of them 😂
Same…
Deseved. You skipped the best trailer in years with Romulus.
I loved Spirit as a kid! A beautiful film with one heck of a soundtrack. I still listen to the music.
so good
Wild Robot looks beautifully animated!
Borderlands kinda feels like they're trying to ride the Guardians of the Galaxy feeling.
I thought the same thing. Group of misfits who spend most of the time bickering but learn to work together and become a family. It even uses an ELO song.
those movies had an emotional core, though. This feels hollow af
The art direction with the paint explosions in the background screamed The Suicide Squad (James Gunn version) to me.
@zippomage well the industry plant kevin hart with zero acting range is co-lead.. soooo makes sense

And bastions shorts inspired by Iron giant
thank you was thinking the same thing.
The Boarderlands trailer screams "We're trying to make a Guardians of the Galaxy without paying Marvel"
Borderlands video game: 2009
Guardians of the Galaxy movie: 2014
I do not see your point.
@@TorIverWilhelmsen Not accusing the video game developers. Accusing the movie producers.
@@peterk7931 Well, the movie looks like the in-game cutscenes. Well, other than the actors not matching the characters completely.
Jay basically said he would be like the Crow in "The Secret of Nimh." I realize that reference is a deep cut, but i loved that movie as a kid.
"You have a ssssssppaaarkly!" Jeremy was his name. "I've alllllways wanted a sparkly of my very own."

The very first movie I ever saw at a theater (a drive-in, but at least not at home). I barely even remember it because I would've been like three.
I'm not sure about the Borderlands movie, but Cate Blanchett as an action hero makes me all tingly inside.
Whelp! Y’all are reacting to Spirit next week!
that line about “everyone wants to save the world they just disagree on how” is exactly the plot of fallout 4 shortened each faction has their own way of saving the world but they each disagree how to do it

Jay should recognize the litter girl who plays Abigail. She was Matilda in the recent movie version of the musical.
Alien isolation is honestly my favorite sci fi game/horror game of all time
Wild Robot is basically just the feature length version of the Bastion cinematic from Overwatch, with some scenes almost shot for shot.
Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder in 'Justified' was absolutely fantastic.

I've never seen spirit either Adam. You're not alone!
“I murdered my anxiety” I love that line 😂
I think vault 4 was an advertisement for the vault tech vault, the main vault the character is from is 33
Yeah, the beginning part with Goggins was a pre-war Vault Tec advertisement in Vault 4.
Even if trailers are rubbish, you two are entertaining enough…love the banter
I think the only parts of the Borderlands cast I agree with is Jack Black and Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis is absolutely perfect to play Tannis
except she is way too old and also jack sounds nothing like claptrap

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron was NOT a dialogue-less film however, and had Matt Damon voicing the horse with a LOT of Bryan Adams music in the soundtrack. These two things were its major flaws, imo. It's still fun to watch in a Dances With Wolves kinda way, though.
