  • This is the third and final stage of my 1979 Honda XL185 build. It uses a Honda CT125 frame, XL185 engine, XL185 front end, CT125 Swingarm, Suzuki TS125 rear wheel, XL185 rear shocks and XL125 tank and seat. This was all put together with a silver painted frame, Gulf Blue tank and many new parts. The interchangeability of the Honda parts means that the bike has not been butchered, and can be taken back to original if needed. Enjoy!

What exhaust pipe did you use? I like it!

Just the original header pipe from an XL185, with a universal muffler and a bit of welding! Thanks

May I ask why you used the ct frame and ts rear wheel?

Was to improve the aesthetics and make the bike look a little older than it actually was while still retaining the 185 engine and suspension. I had a few issues fitting the 185 back wheel and it wasn't in the best condition so I used a TS125 wheel I had laying around. It fitted really well. Thanks

    Is that a ct185 frame?

CT125 frame, but I think they're the same

@@JPcustommotorcycles it doesn't look much like my 1979 XL 185 at all... The whole bike looks like a CT and not an XR or XL. The gas tank, fenders... pretty much everything tells me that it's not an XR or XL.

@@slipknotrob666 the only things on the bike from a CT is the tank and frame. It has an XL engine, XL suspension and brakes, XL125 seat and both fenders are custom. The XL185 frame doesn't lend itself as well to custom builds as well as the CT or XL125 frame so that's why I went with the frame change.
