It's 3 skins, a lot of chromas, 125 ME, emotes, icons, a ward and the 100 missions unlocked so you can instantly get all the rewards without grinding for a whole month. I STILL DISAGREE WITH THE PRICE and if we allow Riot to keep doing this for future events, we're completely doomed.

Finishers exist in League, they've been here for a while actually depending on skinline. Some skinlines got finishers added ages ago for like Star Guardian and stuff where it shows a unique death animation for the enemy.
Urf has already had finishers. When you put on the specific urf related profile icon, you can see the orbital laser, heart explosion, or urf ghost finishers

Finishers do exist in League. Only in URF with specific icons equipped you can have an orbital laser, a heart explosion or Urf's spirit as a finisher. Basically they took a small Easter Egg feature from a Rotating Game mode and gave it a unique variant for the skin in all game modes.
And KaiSa has a voiceline for counting hits on her w. Between that and KDA, even spagghetti code can support nice features like these. Devs definitely thought they were creative and honestly I believe them between workforce reductions lately + spagghetti code in the way meaning the workers definitely earned their wage there... But I have issues with the monetisation team that has a hard time reconciling that (human hours and hard work) with buyers expectations (refusing to call it a market, third parties can't sell their skins and Vanguard put an end to free modded skins as well)

If I remember correctly, we actually already got finishers a long time ago, I think during one of the URF passes. You could get Summoner Icons that added an animation on killing enemies. I think there were 3 or 4 different finishers.
Finishers actually do exist, we had the icon bound ones from urf that for a while also worked in normal league. Also there is the pentakill animations that could be considered part of it (Winterblessed Diana etc)

regarding the FOMO: note the phrases "at current" and "no plans." They want to make it FOMO but also have plausible deniability in the future if they need a quick cash grab and want to bring it back, they can use these words to lawyer their way out when the previous owners of the skin get mad when it is no longer their exclusive flex.
You can't even refund it based on these conditions, you already agreed on the fact that you want a limited edition skin. It's not like you got scammed and Riot is wording it carefully to not get sued, you scammed yourself ( potentially ) and you were aware of the consequences way before that.
About finishers in League of Legends: in the old URF times, when you had certain icons equipped it would've created an exposition and finishers similar to that

Finisher animation did appear on LOL before. But only when you equip the special profile icon and play it on URF or ARURF. There is Thunder Warth, Heart Explosion and Urf the Manitee.

Just got a free arcana playing dota 2 event, which is also free entry. few months back in another dota event, every player got to CHOOSE which arcana they wanted. free.
As a Warframe player this is giving me some major deja vu. Last year at Tennocon, their own made convention, it was a celebration of the 10 years of Warframe, and one thing they did to celebrate it was release something called the Heirloom Collection. There were 3 tiers for it, the cheaper tier had some emblems, and other stuff for you to get Warframes and weapons and cosmetics. The issue came with the other 2 bundles which, depending on where you lived could go up to 120$. The middle tier had 2 unique skins for 2 Warframes, premium currencies, the emblems mentioned, and a new type of cosmetic. The 3rd tier had more stuff to bloat the price. Now the issues came from the fact that there was no way to obtain the new cosmetics with platinum, their main premium currency which can be obtained for free by trading parts and such with players, and then we got the bomb telling us that they would only be available until the end of 2023, with no plans on having the bundles return. People went up in arms about it for many reasons, ranging from the fact that the prices were too high for what the bundle offered, to the fact that we could not obtain the cosmetics with platinum, something every other cosmetic allowed to do unless it was some platform bundle or Tennogen skins (skins made by the community and sold in the game). They added more premium currency to "justify" the price, with no more bundles to lessen the price, or making the skins available in the game with platinum, nothing. They said that they would HEAVILY reconsider if they would make Heirloom bundles again, and if they did so they would be heavily considering how they'd do them. They have announced they are showing their next Heirloom Bundle on this year's Tennocon, and people are already shaking. Considering both Digital Extremes and Riot Games are owned by Tencent... yeah we don't need to do a lot of math do we?
I was in the middle of a break from warframe when I saw that. When I came back, I saw a surprising number of people with the damn things. They were good skins, especially compared to league, but the price was definitely not justified.

Back then founders packs were normal and they were kinda like a show of trust from the players, that they trusted the game and its devs to go on and continue investing and improving on the game, so they were symbols of you supporting the game. Funny thing: there actually are finishers in league. In season 4-5 riot launched some icons that when worn in temporary gamemodes, you get a simple finisher. I have the laser and the heart bomb. You can look into it
There are so many disgusting, manipulative practices here. Three-tiered pricing (only manipulative because of its implementation here). FOMO (which contradicts the entire honorable reason for the Hall of Legends to exist). Locking the ONLY good skin feature behind the target tier (middle tier). Creating a predatory battle pass problem (100 levels) so that they can sell the solution in the 3rd tier. It's insane how gaming companies can utilize the worst in business and get away with it because gamers are irresponsible. But there's nothing that reasonable players can do because the players who ruin gaming by throwing thousands of dollars at AAA companies are the same dullards who pre-order games (paying a premium only to beta test a game).

@@charliewiltshire7517 Nah, even gacha games would not do this (unless they're as garbage as FGO), Hoyoverse, for example, would not make you pay $500 for a character, much less a skin, in fact, there's one of their games that does sell skins with effects that you could compare to a legendary LoL skin from time to time, and it costs the gacha currency, it probably costs around the equivalent to 30-ish pulls and you don't even need to use money if you saved gacha currency for it. It's definitely not for f2p people for sure, but it's still under $100. I checked since I'm not even a light spender anymore, HSR 5* guaranteed but 50/50 is around $180 (that's too much) and $350-ish for a guaranteed character, and that's only if you didn't get it earlier than 90 pulls, a maxed character costs from $500-1k which most people wouldn't go for (hopefully), and the only difference between gachas and Riot is that gachas provide a battlepass (like Riot) and some sort of cheap subscription to get whatever gacha currency they have just by logging in daily, though some more predatory gacha games may offer "unique" deals to get specific characters by paying real money, I still think they're expensive, but they're at least somewhat indirect about it and don't ask you to pay $500 for a skin, not even a character that's new and not everyone will have, just a skin that is way over the average price.

I was one of the original who bought the prestige Ahri when it was after spending 100$ on skins, and that's a far cry from 500$, for 500$ you could get multiple Ahri figures, a halfway decent tattoo, you could go to a convention and meet Laura Post while getting her autograph, they probably could have gotten away with 50/100/200, or 30/60/120, but I just don't see this bundle selling enough to offset what it cost to make.

Only in URF with specific icons equipped you can have an orbital laser, a heart explosion or Urf's spirit as a finisher. Basically they took a small Easter Egg feature from a Rotating Game mode and gave it a unique variant for the skin in all game modes.
The crazy thing is that Jax has a skin that shows your kills already and oh look it isn't $50
Kaisa counts your kills and that's free. You actually have to buy sg kaisa to remove that feature
And KaiSa has a voiceline for counting hits on her w. Between that and KDA, even spagghetti code can support nice features like these. Devs definitely thought they were creative and honestly I believe them between workforce reductions lately + spagghetti code in the way meaning the workers definitely earned their wage there... But I have issues with the monetisation team that has a hard time reconciling that (human hours and hard work) with buyers expectations (refusing to call it a market, third parties can't sell their skins and Vanguard put an end to free modded skins as well)
And Samiras Ultimate skin got that shit too (not to say it´s a good skin but it IS still better than a 500 dollar skin)

If I remember correctly, we actually already got finishers a long time ago, I think during one of the URF passes. You could get Summoner Icons that added an animation on killing enemies. I think there were 3 or 4 different finishers.
Finishers actually do exist, we had the icon bound ones from urf that for a while also worked in normal league. Also there is the pentakill animations that could be considered part of it (Winterblessed Diana etc)

They want to make it FOMO but also have plausible deniability in the future if they need a quick cash grab and want to bring it back, they can use these words to lawyer their way out when the previous owners of the skin get mad when it is no longer their exclusive flex.
You can't even refund it based on these conditions, you already agreed on the fact that you want a limited edition skin. It's not like you got scammed and Riot is wording it carefully to not get sued, you scammed yourself ( potentially ) and you were aware of the consequences way before that.

Finisher animation did appear on LOL before. But only when you equip the special profile icon and play it on URF or ARURF.
There is Thunder Warth, Heart Explosion and Urf the Manitee.

few months back in another dota event, every player got to CHOOSE which arcana they wanted. free.
As a Warframe player this is giving me some major deja vu. Last year at Tennocon, their own made convention, it was a celebration of the 10 years of Warframe, and one thing they did to celebrate it was release something called the Heirloom Collection. There were 3 tiers for it, the cheaper tier had some emblems, and other stuff for you to get Warframes and weapons and cosmetics. The issue came with the other 2 bundles which, depending on where you lived could go up to 120$. The middle tier had 2 unique skins for 2 Warframes, premium currencies, the emblems mentioned, and a new type of cosmetic. The 3rd tier had more stuff to bloat the price. Now the issues came from the fact that there was no way to obtain the new cosmetics with platinum, their main premium currency which can be obtained for free by trading parts and such with players, and then we got the bomb telling us that they would only be available until the end of 2023, with no plans on having the bundles return.
People went up in arms about it for many reasons, ranging from the fact that the prices were too high for what the bundle offered, to the fact that we could not obtain the cosmetics with platinum, something every other cosmetic allowed to do unless it was some platform bundle or Tennogen skins (skins made by the community and sold in the game).
They added more premium currency to "justify" the price, with no more bundles to lessen the price, or making the skins available in the game with platinum, nothing.
They said that they would HEAVILY reconsider if they would make Heirloom bundles again, and if they did so they would be heavily considering how they'd do them.
They have announced they are showing their next Heirloom Bundle on this year's Tennocon, and people are already shaking.
Considering both Digital Extremes and Riot Games are owned by Tencent... yeah we don't need to do a lot of math do we?

Back then founders packs were normal and they were kinda like a show of trust from the players, that they trusted the game and its devs to go on and continue investing and improving on the game, so they were symbols of you supporting the game. Issue was the contract that they had with the packs that would not allow them to make the content within them available for everyone after they were no longer needed so they did try to make it available for everyone but they literally can't

Finishers do exist in League, the Urf Icon gives a ghost killing finisher animation it works only in URF tho! There is also the Orbital Laser Icon and Heartsplosion icon which both have unique finishers too (still only works in URF sadly)

Funny thing: there actually are finishers in league. In season 4-5 riot launched some icons that when worn in temporary gamemodes, you get a simple finisher. I have the laser and the heart bomb. You can look into it

There are so many disgusting, manipulative practices here. Three-tiered pricing (only manipulative because of its implementation here). FOMO (which contradicts the entire honorable reason for the Hall of Legends to exist). Locking the ONLY good skin feature behind the target tier (middle tier). Creating a predatory battle pass problem (100 levels) so that they can sell the solution in the 3rd tier. It's insane how gaming companies can utilize the worst in business and get away with it because gamers are irresponsible. But there's nothing that reasonable players can do because the players who ruin gaming by throwing thousands of dollars at AAA companies are the same dullards who pre-order games (paying a premium only to beta test a game).

Additionally, this isn't manipulative. These are optional skins that only people who have the money or really like faker will buy. To call it "disgusting" and "manipulative" in a free game is really stupid. This is the same complaint as the Samira skin or literally any higher priced league skin nowadays. If you don't want it then don't buy it. It's not League's fault if you're a compulsive spender that's on you. League is a free game with no Pay-To-Win aspects of it. @@charliewiltshire7517 Nah, even gacha games would not do this (unless they're as garbage as FGO), Hoyoverse, for example, would not make you pay $500 for a character, much less a skin, in fact, there's one of their games that does sell skins with effects that you could compare to a legendary LoL skin from time to time, and it costs the gacha currency, it probably costs around the equivalent to 30-ish pulls and you don't even need to use money if you saved gacha currency for it. It's definitely not for f2p people for sure, but it's still under $100.
I checked since I'm not even a light spender anymore, HSR 5* guaranteed but 50/50 is around $180 (that's too much) and $350-ish for a guaranteed character, and that's only if you didn't get it earlier than 90 pulls, a maxed character costs from $500-1k which most people wouldn't go for (hopefully), and the only difference between gachas and Riot is that gachas provide a battlepass (like Riot) and some sort of cheap subscription to get whatever gacha currency they have just by logging in daily, though some more predatory gacha games may offer "unique" deals to get specific characters by paying real money, I still think they're expensive, but they're at least somewhat indirect about it and don't ask you to pay $500 for a skin, not even a character that's new and not everyone will have, just a skin that is way over the average price.
