    This is the thing about Cyberpunk... everybody always focuses on the bug ridden launch state of the game, but the real travesty is that alot of the fundimental systems and mechanics were just place holder-type slap-in's to get the game out the door. You can eventually iron out bugs, and a game can be fine, but when the skill system, reputation system and gear systems aren't up to snuff then you end up with a shallow rpg. You can go around an open world, shoot stuff and experience a good story, but you cant be a good rpg when the basics are so flawed, lackluster or shallow.

      CD Projekt Red are inexperienced amateurs and scammers now. No one will ever buy another CDPR game. CD Projekt Red will even go bankrupt soon because almost everyone refunded Cyberpunk.!!!

    To be fair Andrzej Sapkowski (you have a typo there) was well known and established Fantasy author in Poland and Eastern Europe before CD Projekt was a thing :)

      Really appreciate that! When I posted it, I only had ~10 subscribers. So I can understand TH-cam not yet knowing how to promote a video from a new channel.
      That said, my latest video on the NFT collapse is by far my highest quality work... yet it didn't crack even 1,000 views. 🤷‍♂

    I’m getting in before your channel blows up. My hot take is cyberpunk 2077 was not “unplayable” the TH-cam commentariat loves over the top language. It’s either a 1 or a 10. I played the game at release twice through on my trusty old Xbox One. It was a little rough but I still loved it. Hearing how big of fans the guys were makes sense cause everything aside from performance and some cut content is fabulous. The world, music, characters, look. They nailed it. Im seeing a little right now but once phantom liberty hits, i expect a big 2077 redemption. Should it have been working properly in 2020, of course and its too bad because the experience underneath is so good

    • @TheHansen01
      @TheHansen01  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much!
      I agree that a lot of takes were overblown for clicks. Most of those early reviews centered on the bugs rather than attempt to review the content itself. CDR absolutely nailed the writing and the aesthetic IMO, but I'd be lying if I said the overall experience bested that of The Witcher 3.
      I'm eager to see how the expansion pack turns out, but I think the true redemption is going to come from the next game in the franchise. My guess is that a lot of the legacy REDengine tech they've used just doesn't allow them to bring their vision to life the way they wanted. I imagine the switch to Unreal unlocks more possibilities for them. Management originally said they would release at least two expansions for CP77, but I think they're only opting for one now so they can get off their REDengine and start creation of a new title in the new engine ASAP.

    13:00 clips just confirms my bias that some youtube reviewers are little children.
    People just have to come to grips that games aren't small things anymore, but are large complex applications. So you just have to resist the fomo urge to be the first one to buy it, because more often than not you are not playing the 1.0 version but the 0.9 version.
    In IT we have this rule when using 3rd party software: if you are going to use a new release, use the X.1 version, because more often than not the cutting edge features still draw blood. So wait a little bit: wait till it's on sale on steam and buy then. I did that with what everyone considered a buggy mess, Assassins Creed Unity, bought it for 20 euro: it was a good game, no bugs to speak of.

      I think the big factor here is them switching to Unreal engine. The issues with Cyberpunk were operational in nature (and can therby be fixed with a tweak of the tech stack), not issues with their ability to create compelling stories and a world that comes alive.

    I still don't get why anime should change the viewpoint on the game.

    • @TheHansen01
      @TheHansen01  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The anime had a strong positive impact on the perception of the franchise. It brought in a lot of returning players who were pleasantly surprised by the game’s improved playability since launch. New players that came to the game were happy to be able to spend additional time exploring the dystopian universe portrayed in the show.

    • @NoName-jz8fe
      @NoName-jz8fe ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheHansen01 I know they did, but I have seen the anime and I have played the game. The two have very little to do with each other.
      And you say improved playability? how a fixed path on fixer gigs does not make the game any better.
      Bugs have been solved on the consoles, but I would say what was released in 2020 is still largely the same. Too many missing features that were advertised in their marketing material.
      My point still stands. Why would a anime series change the viewpoint on the game... I mean it would be like a having a bad game at launch and the developer chooses to give people a cool t-shirt and now everything is fine. The anime has had no impact on the game beside the item from series.
      I would say people that are affected in this manner are complete morons or perhaps were just going with the fomo hate. The game is garbage at launch and it still needs a massive amount of work in the form of creating a better open world, better quest design, better itemization ( set armor would be nice), better interaction with factions, better quest progression, you know like the one where you go into the maelstrom factory.

    • @TheHansen01
      @TheHansen01  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@NoName-jz8fe I think of "playability" from the technical sense, I'm not speaking to gameplay mechanics (which I agree are lacking vs. what was advertised before launch).
      But I think you're looking at this from a hyper-logical perspective instead of understanding the emotional appeal of the anime and how it could lead players (new and old) back into CP77.
      I think it's very unfair to say the anime and game have nothing to do with each other. The anime absolutely nailed the setting/universe as was presented in the game. They even used to the same animation/sound effects for the incoming calls, which I thought was a great touch to further link the show to the game.
