The Music of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - A Brief Retrospective
มุมมอง 1.1Kปีที่แล้ว
With all the recent chatter about the Star Wars KOTOR Remake, I wanted to revisit the original KOTOR titles and see what made them special. While the gameplay, writing, and setting are all fantastic, it's their original soundtracks that really resonate the most with myself and many others. This is a brief retrospective on the music of KOTOR and why it's so special. Follow me on Twitter: twitter...
When Jungle/DnB Music Dominated Video Games: A Brief Retrospective
มุมมอง 365Kปีที่แล้ว
Lately, we've witnessed a resurgence of Jungle/DnB music, particularly from the soundtracks of 90's videos games. Playlists are popping up all over TH-cam and garnering millions of views. As a frequent listener of Jungle/DnB, this got me wondering: how did so many games from the 90's end up using this style of club music in their soundtracks? In this video, I explore the history of early video ...

How the Manhattan Project put Fluoride in your Water Supply | Documentary
มุมมอง 5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
During World War II, farmers downwind of a factory in New Jersey began noticing that their crops were dying and their cattle were falling ill. It turns out this factory was secretly producing fluoride for the Manhattan Project's atomic weapons program. The incident set off a major government research effort - and a potential coverup - to convince the public that fluoride was safe to consume and...

Amazing video! Bring this style of music back!!!
Favorite jungle dnb song from that era of videos games besides time station is ace combat 3’s - “montage” which so I’ve in the comments section of an upload of that song led me to that jungle sumo song in the beginning as the person said they sounded alike which they definitely do
gotta say forgone destruction is the explanation why DnB so good and well works in games.
Bomberman Hero is the primary reason for me. What a track Redial is
To this day, that is almost 10 years later, "The Witcher 3" is an unmatched masterpiece that wrote video game history!
I don't understand why I can find like 10 videos on the Jungle/DnB music surge in gaming, but I can't find anything about the hard-rock music that I thought was surging in the late 90s early 20s around the time the Dreamcast hit. But maybe that perceived burst of rock was really only limited to the Dreamcast? Either way I tried searching and I can't really find anything about hard rock / glamrock in gaming, even though there's clearly a good number of tracks of that style.
I have a one sided DnB/Jungle 12" single on sky blue vinyl. No text anywhere. Scratched into the matrix is "Simon the Change." I have no idea what it is. Shazam does not recognize it.
I live for Wall Street. Always exciting if you see it correctly. Great video thx 🙏
SSX Tricky - Garibaldi Theme. Ever since back in 2001 I've been looking for the name of this music genre. Finally found it! 😄
Still remember getting a white label 12 “ of wipeout months before the game or the full album was released! And it had the source direct and the photek tune ! It has a black and white photo copy insert sheet with it !!! And I have looked on discogs and other sites but no info or other copy’s of the promo version available!!! And I have got a nice white label of music from man hunter game feat the bug and dmx crew !!!!! Another good collectible game soundtrack ! And I have a load of negative soundtracks on data records ! If your a fan of the soundtracks to classic games I would highly recommend that label but the early releases are quite expensive now !!!!
* megadrive not negative !!!! Sorry about the error !!!!
Interestingly, the Playstation is not the first console to have CD quality music. Sega had previously released an add-on for their Mega Drive/Genesis called the Sega CD, which, you guessed it, lets you play CD games. Unfortunately it didn't go too far, but some of its game have some serious jungle/DnB inspiration, such as Sonic CD
Thanks
shock troopers 1 /1997 Have a jungel track amazing! th-cam.com/video/V1M9zTGDjKI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rNT2vxF_M6Yj9jCp I play for hours , and love the track, also in 98 a see my frist dj set by Roni Size
Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit is the perfect example for Jungle/DnB, techno and rock music, it's my favorite game from 90'
What was the album for the first game example ?
This is an exceptionally high quality mini documentary. Truly wish you the best of success and hope you continue to post videos like this.
Ps1 wasn’t the first
Ape Escape my beloved
@4:55 SHOUT OUT TO LEGEND OF DRAGOON
I always liked DnB in the 90s games as a kid, but I associated it with just that, game music. Then GTA3 came around with the MSX FM radio with the Moving Shadow mix and that sent me out into the wild to hunt down the sound for real. I bought DJ Irene - Phonosynthesis, fell in love with that one, especially the Aphrodite tracks in that mix. I took to Napster to get more Aphrodite tracks, and that led me down the rabbit hole of all the other artists, labels, etc. I am almost in my 40s now, but I still both listen to and spin DnB. It's part of who I am. And the community has grown substantially over the years and it's an amazing thing. To think this all started from playing games as a kid.
thanks, it is awesome video. ive listened to most of the tracks through TH-cam mixes, and thanks to you im now deep into Soichi Terada rabbithole
Why was it an era?
An early histories without mentioning Hip-hop in the states or dancehall in the UK is wild...
Horrendous video
PS. Don't doubt that Satan is behind ALL this !!! I lived in a rural area growing up. Many of us had well water, to insure that all children had low IQ's in 4th grade at public school, they began passing out Fluoride tablets. Your parent had to sign a permission slip, I thought we'd have to swallow the pills, so I talked my mom into saying no. After I was kind of sorry because they were chewable Banana flavored. I attended one of the most expensive school districts in the center of the state, They were equal opportunity Demons robbing ALL children of their GOD given brains... These people are beyond Evil....
My daughter developed hashimotos thyroiditis and fatty liver disease after taking fluoride tablets in third grade. She was healthy and at the top of her class before taking them. She has never fully recovered and is now 27. 😢
@@enlightenedhummingbird4764 I'm so sorry for your plight,, they - The Evil Left & their master Satan have n o conscience but, our GOD cares please avail yourselves of HIS Mercy and HIS Love & I too will pray that HE'LL heal her completely. May GOD Bless you both and all others harmed by this intentional poisoning GOD Bless all Americans & protect them and May HE Bless & protect President Trump Praise GOD..
Thank you so much !!!! If only the public believed the truth... Great video but, the Manhattan Project wasn't the only reason that TPTB/NWO, shoved Fluoride down our throats with a big smile "on their faces". The Jeannette Pennsylvania smog "" Jeannette was famous for glass making, part of it involved aluminum, in any event however this glass was made there was a lot of Fluoride involved. They had those huge tall brick chimneys', and the chimney's discharged Fluoride in their smoke... Around 1932 ? An unusual weather front moved into the area and it forced all the smoke down to ground level. The street lights burned all day because it was as dark as night all day long for 3 days because of the smog. It wasn't only dark but the air/fog/smog at ground level was all the Fluoride Smoke from the chimneys that couldn't dissipate or disperse. As I recall a number of people died and many more were ill, many permanently. The robber baron types were worried by all the lawsuits, claiming they were poisoned by Fluoride, this would have been detrimental to the Aluminum producers, so these companies needed to prove Fluoride was safe. These people were also involved in water fluoridation in Newburg. I believe you named the man that came up with adding Fluoride to public water in the states. He was paid $78,000 with which he built office complexes in North Carolina and parlayed them when sold, into a million dollars. He and his family profited richly from poisoning America. We also didn't mention the Russians use of Fluoride in their gulogs, it kept the prisoners mellow and they needed less guards. And the active ingredient in PROZAC is Fluoride, Fluoride was also the Active ingredient in d-CON - RAT POISON. And Lastly, yes the Fluoride for our water also comes from those big old chimneys where they process aluminum, some glass and other products. When they clean out those chimneys it's very EXPENSIVE if they go thru legal channels. It's not just Fluoride but ARSENIC and a plethora of other poisons and heavy metals in the debris from the chimneys, so instead of spending money to dispose of the chimney refuse, they sell it to cities and municipalities, who add it to our public water supply. If you see your Doctor and have symptoms of being poisoned the Dr's NEVER attribute it to your water. Finally, I've seen demonstrations that show how Fluoride is instantly Absorbed into your skin, just washing your hands in a public water source, allows the Fluoride to immediately be absorbed into your skin... Fluoride is dangerous no matter how you come into contact with it. Please share this video with all Americans. GOD Bless you & yours, GOD Bless America..
This is the greatest video on TH-cam!
i love how you slide R4 in the end that's class 🌹
The fact Poland gave Obama the Witcher 3 which means did Obama sell it or kept it and played it
Someone asked him about it during a press conference at a later date... he said he's bad at video games so he hasn't tried playing it haha.
@TheHansen01 thanks for informing me on this I will do some research
So many people cant read the title and want a whole ass history of dnb too.
This has good quality, I'm not sure why it doesn't have more views.
Really appreciate that! When I posted it, I only had ~10 subscribers. So I can understand TH-cam not yet knowing how to promote a video from a new channel. That said, my latest video on the NFT collapse is by far my highest quality work... yet it didn't crack even 1,000 views. 🤷♂
Well put together! I was a holder since day 1. And have dissappeared from the nft space a couple months after the collapse of JF and the nft space bear market and haven't heard from JF since. It's insane the amount of things I didn't know from this project after that day. It's bizarre and saddening to hear really.
Thanks! Technically the project is still ongoing... Ken recently claimed that he transferred ownership of JF to an anonymous "whale", but he won't say who it is, and that individual hasn't revealed themselves. Meanwhile, a senior community member called Babar is trying to resurrect the project on a new chain, but his efforts seem to have failed. Really disappointing outcome.
Midnight Club: Street Racing had DnB music. It was such a simple game, but the music almost encouraged you to go faster and play longer and longer.
If you're a dnb fan and you haven't yet heard "Wrapped in Black" or "Deep Core" from the Sonic Rush series, I'd highly recommend doing that right away.
My favorite DnB is Ape Escape 1 and 3
Thank you. That last sentence about the classified safety study hits hard and poses a greater question: "This makes me ashamed to be a scientist. Were they all donne like this?" The Manhattan project scientist who pioneered all oncology, "radiation therapy", all these pies about fluoride shows how much of a poison business oncology is also. Modern day incology and dental business is a poison factory. There is a reason why there's no better cancer treatment, because they don't want any. It's very sinister.
Thank you, someone who told the Truth !!! GOD Bless you and yours...
I heard these kind of music before when I was a kid but I never knew what's was called until I play this game called Ratz Instagib in 2018. The game soundtrack was amazing, which made me branch out to different type of DNB like Jungle, Breakcore, etc. Probably my favorite music genre. ❤
Great video! I think this is why I vibed so much with Umurangi Generation and Neon White passing the torch for sure.
I'm kinda surprised that "For True Story: Sonic Adventure 2" went unmentioned.
flouride is the byprodct of synthetic fertilizer IT SHOULD BANNED EVERYWHERE support rotational grazing atomic bombs are a lie they are strong bombs but they are not "atomic" and will contain toxins but not atomic still
I lost around $5k on this project as well. Was a wild ride with lots of ups and downs, but definitely a lot of lessons learned! This was a great documentary and gave me insight into aspects of the project I wasn't even aware of. The PrintMyMint douchebag was definitely the impetus behind the crash. He was salty that he got caught. Too bad Becker was a coward and tanked the project as well. He was the reason I bought in, in the first place. Now I see him for who he really is, which is a spineless loser. Pathetic to have all that money and still be so insecure. I think there was a chance for the project to be revived with fallout freaks, since the discord server saw a major increase in traffic around the time of mint, but of course the developers messed up and it tanked again... Sad to see a project with so much potential fail so miserably. Would be cool if we could pull a pudgy penguins, but no idea how we'd get Ken out
Really enjoyed reading this comment, thanks for the kind words! If there's one thing we can learn, it's that none of these crypto influencers look after anything except their own bags. Becker was (is?) bad, true... but I personally feel Zeneca was far more damaging to the project and acted far more cowardly. If you're not aware, Barbar is leading a revival of Jungle Freaks now. He has a plan to basically burn the old freaks and create a mirror project on a new chain. Ask the regular Jungle Freaks discord for details, or message me on twitter (@TheHansen01) and I'll shoot you a link to his new Discord. Thanks for watching! :)
So....only like 5% of the music you cited is Jungle/DnB....
What music is used from 0:08 to 1:20
That's one of the BEST examples of old-school jungle... "Grand Senshu" by Soichi Terada. Full music list is linked in the description!
great vid!!
Gaming used to be so much better. Everything used to be so much better.
My daughter (born 1988) has over fluoridated teeth. Her adult teeth were so white that the natural color looked dark, kids told her she had chocolate on her teeth. As a young adult she had veneers put on the front teeth.
OMG I played Ape Escape as a kid and it's what got me into Jungle music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Akuma's theme in Street Fighter 3 is an absolute Jungle *BOP.*
kind of unfortunate that you dont mention that jungle originated from the uk, or at least jamaican immigrants
This time in media solidified my taste in music. Absolutely loving this revival these last 2 years.
