    Oh I love it when women own the room. Body posture commands so much power and says a lot about who you are and how you want to be treated before you even say a word.

    • @leonieharry2941
      @leonieharry2941 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yes, but that is NOT owning the room! And has nothing to do with elegantly walking. It is not useful for everydays life. If a female boss will do it, nobody will take her seriously. Is that the goal? I think not.

      @@LilDusty5528 well of course no one should walk this way at work 😂 unless they are trying to get a raise. But body posture is important. Standing upright, no slouching I think is what she meant.

    I was trained at age twelve for a stage, fashion show, by a prominent, New York fashion model, whose image covered myriad periodicals; so this is accurate advice; my disconcert is that it's aimed entirely at females to conform, then improve their status. Males aren't instructed with etiquette skills, but females are targeted with societal proclivities.

      Everyone's hip sway from side to side when they walk...when your feet rotate steps that's what it causes to happen, swaying...even men do it. When the weight of your body goes from side to side it causes stuff to move. Lol you said that as if everyone doesn't naturally sway. I've never seen a person walk this earth that ass and hips doesn't move when they walk or walk up stairs.

    Wearing heels is bad for your back and feet, and rocking your hips from side to side is bad for your hip joints. Even though you look lovely walking down the stairs, it looks like an accident waiting to happen. One foot in front of the other, your legs are crossing each other and you're bound to trip yourself! First off I want to say thank you for making a video like this. Back in the '40s '50s etiquette and poise was very important.
    When I saw this title, I did laugh to be honest. 😁 Although I have medical issues that would keep me from looking so poised... I come down the stairs more like the first part of the video. LOL 😂
    And like other people who have commented sometimes you have to do what you've got to do on your own comfort level.
    However that does not take away from the video there are people out there that will appreciate this and I appreciate it. The reason people in public just don't really care anymore. Now when I say this I don't mean those who are on crutches or walkers. Or are elderly... Or some physical limitation.
    Once again thank you so very much I hope this does help a lot of people.

    *10 YEARS AGO* I interviewed a woman for a job at my company - she was the daughter of a very prominent person in a European country...
    When she walked in the room it was captivating, she owned the room and everyone in it; though she was not pretty. I remember thinking at the time - you can drape as much bling as you want on a woman, but you can't make up for a lifetime of the best education and a Swiss finishing school. It should NOT matter how you enter a room, but it does.

      @@Bravelioness8635 Cause it was in my feed and i just felt curious . But it seems stupid to me . My sister(25) is CPA and CFA she makes 300k and soon going to start firm as soon as me and my brother finish bachelor's (we are done with our CPA as we did aur ACCA already) And she walks like a man wear sports shoes instead of heels that doesn't mean she's not elegant and successful or smart , it's just that she not pretentious or rather spend her Time working on the skills she need for her success or just chill instead of doing modelling stuff
      By the way I'm a guy and i don't believe that women should present themselves with all imperial and royal family stuff to be successful the only requirement should be your expertise in the work you do
      That's just what I think. I'm sorry if I've Said something wrong

    I would love to have you do a workshop for some of my students. It breaks my heart to see elementary school girls who are depressed and hiding under their hoodies. With self esteem and body image issues, they need encouragement and coaching to love the skin they are in and how to present them selves with some confidence.

    • @Indian-mb1ue
      @Indian-mb1ue 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Or maybe some pretty women are comfortable behind the hoodies and live wearing sneakers.....

    • @patheticmortal373

      @@Indian-mb1ue as long as they're not hiding in their hoodies. But working on moving with confidence often does improve self esteem; so regardless of why they're wearing a hoody, anybody, not just girls, benefit from body language and esteem practices.

      It wasn't my skin that had me hiding. I needed to be taught how to make friends. I needed to have many little successes. I needed the crossing guards to stop bullying me. I needed to know what my strengths were. It would still be helpful to know that... Coming to terms with growing boobs just required time.

  • @liveandletlive7152

    This video is great for girls wanting to model or be in pageants BUT It's going to look so bad if someone out in the regular world falls, losing a few teeth or worse breaking a limb, especially when it's obvious they were trying to walk a certain way other than what comes naturally to them. For me it's safety on the stairs before trying to be a beauty queen when I know I'm not. There's other places to sway my hips and nobody will judge me🤣
    This walk here is for the runway for sure and it's fierce and sexy. Anywhere else, and it looks like you're a show off, calling for a man's attention and it can make you seem unrelatable. I will stick to my normal gentle walk. Heels is enough to make me graceful. I don't need to sway my ass. It sways on its own🤣
    You can still be elegant but there's no need to walk as if you're on the catwalk every single second of the day. Why?? Because most of us are not on the catwalk. Let's be real and not artificial ladies.
