SOLID ideas. SFMM has the potential to be a great park and it's squandered. One of these days, maybe they will hire you and give you an unlimited budget and the fans will rave and the enthusiasts live happily ever after.
@@M-NL2 A lot of your ideas are not even expensive, but because they are good ideas, they will probably never happen! Hopefully Selim watches this video.
I honestly never noticed that abandoned bench lol. 10:36 Those were some good ideas! I supported almost all of them! Because you asked us what we would do to SFMM If we could, I figured I’ll give it a go. So if I were to enhance something at SFMM I would do a load of things to TC & the ScreamPunk District. Hence the channel name, I’m a massive fan of the area & music. I love the theming there & I would love to see a new refurbishment there entirely. Here are some things I’d do to the area there. (ScreamPunk District related) - Bringing back the actors that interact with guests - Bring back the merchandise stand that used to be outside the entrance of TC - Reactivate the steam that emitted from the steampunk tractor’s smokestack on display. - The “Twisted Colossus” entrance sign looks so faded & white. Since scream got a refurbished entry sign so should TC. - Twisted Wiches will remain open on all park hours on all park days/weeks/months/years. (As those sandwiches are my fav in the world) (Twisted Colossus related) - Immediately repainting the entire track/support section to make it look like new again from opening day - Rework the entire programming system throughout the ride like you stated so the brakes before the next lift become a block section so a race is expected every time! That’s all I’d change for now.
At least 90% of this applies to most Six Flags parks with the same issues of understaffing, unused/abandoned areas, missed opportunities for theming and upgrading.
Instead of the second Scream/TC entrance, how about just making it an exit, and have it begin operating at like 2pm to save a little labor? Entrance employees can just mosey over there after the main rush of entering guests is through. Then people don’t have a mile long trudge to their cars after scorching in the triple digit heat all day.
Great video ! Here are a few things I’ll add . I think a conversion of the old laughing dragon pizza into a new experience would be great for the park. I think it should be turned into “ Super Hero Summit” and become a immersive DC themed bar. The park could surely need another full service indoor bar besides Full Throttle Saloon. Super Hero Summit would feature DC themed drinks. For example a green Midori based cocktail called the Kryptonite. There can be a Dark Knight Batman themed drink among many others. The bar can feature highly unique and collectible mugs that go with each drink. It would be a great place for character meet and greets. It would be fun to even have a villain hour where Lex Luther , The Joker and others would appear. I feel that would be a great revision of this space. It can be a fully immersive opportunity to us the DC universe. It would also give some nice theming to the area and provide an experience unlike anything at a six flags park. And best of all a great opportunity to generate sales. A joker themed ride for the park would be great for the park. I heard that magic mountain was the only 6 flags park that does not have a joker ride. For as hot as magic mountain gets there is a lack of indoor rides. That is why I feel a vekoma madhouse ride themed to the joker would be an amazing fit for the park. The chain already has Houdinis Great Escape at some parks. This ride themed as Lets say “ Jokers Escape from Arkham Asylum” would be great. It’s not a huge investment ride and with a little theming in the pre show and building it could be a flagship joker ride. I love the version of the madhouse at great adventure and feel this refresh/ brand version would be great for magic mountain. Also I think some branded very unique food items with existing sponsors would be great for the park. Items like Fuego Taki crusted chicken fingers along with Twix funnel cakes. Items that are unique to the park and can only be gotten in the park. They will also strengthen the brand loyalty with the corporate sponsors. These items would create some social media buzz and have people taking photos and reviewing these only at six flags items , which would be great for food sales.
looking at google maps, they could remove the golden bear theatre and use some of the land behind full throttle to fit in a B&M dive. maybe would have to take out some trees near swashbuckler/buccaneer but they have about the room for an emporor/diabolical sized dive if they squeezed it in.. also, they could totally build a parking structure and make the marketplace go along the walk to the park, though I'm not sure if that's the ideal way to do it
I would invest in a dedicated freeway entrance and exit at Feedmill road and build a huge structure like the one at Disneyland. That would free up space to expand the entrance and maybe put something next to X2 where the entrance road currently resides. You also wouldn't need a bridge from the new hotel because you can walk straight to the park.
I’ve been saying for years since Tatsu opening year that the park has gotten extremely lazy with the ride merchandise I really don’t understand why they don’t partner with made to thrill to come up with better designs for shirts alone
Love your coaster expansion location/idea. I've visited this park often over the past 20 year and it's been mismanaged the entire time. Couldn't disagree more about not moving the park entrance! It's a terrible way to start and end your day. Slow. Awkward. Uphill. Eats up a lot of time coming and going and screams the park is going to be the disorganized mess that it is. If MM owned that land where you would put in hotels - that is where the parking needs to be and the accommodations can go where the current parking lot awkwardly sits. The entrance plaza is far from iconic and extremely minimal - don't see why this couldn't easily be moved to in between Scream and TC. I noticed this the first time I got out of the car on my very first visit, although Sceam didn't exist yet. In fact, all in attendance noted how weird it was to have the parking way over to the side of the park about a half mile from the front entrance lol. The park itself is a great collection of roller coasters and among the most generic and uninviting amusement parks in the world. I would gut as much of the existing park as I possible could and redevelop themed areas and atmosphere. Disneyland and Cedar Point are fun even if you never set foot on a ride, MM has nothing but roller coasters and an exhausting, hot, dry and dusty location -- there is literally no organic reason for a park to exist. Something really outside of the box and creative needs to be implemented to bring the atmosphere and experience up to competitive standards. The original park design offered diverse transportation to navigate the "mountain" which is very much missed. Lifts, trains, monorails, escalators - all should be reintroduced and air conditioned where possible. SHADE!!!! All ques (and many of the walking paths) should be completely shaded and with mist and fans at the very least. There needs to be a variety of indoor rides and attractions to break from the heat. As for becoming a destination/resort - you have to get the park to a place where you can spend an entire fun filled day without riding a coaster before entertaining this idea. It's in no way a two day park destination - if you don't hit it all and then some in one day, it's because it was over crowded or massive shut downs -- neither of which leaves one wanting more. Perhaps moving and tripling the size of the water park, adding and "action park" as a viable third gate might get things moving in that direction. MM needs way more than what it has to offer to even consider the idea of becoming a resort. Bit of a rant - don't take any of it personally. I grew up in the Midwest and have always been perplexed by the missed opportunity that is Magic Mountain.
I love your ideas. They're all great and make sense. I especially like your downtown shopping district. Something to draw more people in and hopefully bring in more revenue. Actually I really wish ALL their restaurants would open a lot sooner instead of having to wait till nearly noon to be able to get food.
I love the comparisons you made with Cedar Point because I feel that Magic Mountain has the potential to be just as good of a park as CP. My personal favorite idea you had was the resort idea.
I say put you in charge, dude. Although I am an enthusiast who enjoys Goliath. Other than that point, I agree with you on everything else. It's my home park so I love it and hate it so much. Mostly love though. Great idea to put in a modern terrain coaster. I mean, the park is on a dang mountain. That would be awesome.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention fixing the audio and effects on X2 and Apocalypse to be more consistent. that's one of the first things I'd do. alongside adding more shaded areas of the park
A while back I made 2 videos talking about things I would upgrade/enhance about all the rides at SFMM, and those were both on there; I just didn't wanna restate every one of them again tho
Reopening the SkyTower, but built as a Polarcoaster - one still hasn't yet been built anywhere. Load from the Roaring Rapids/Tatsu path, and let it run all over the top of the mountain. Those at the top of the SkyTower get to see everyone's expressions outside just as they top out.
Having lost hats, house keys, and a wallet on roller coasters in the past, I always attempt to secure a locker first thing and immediately put anything loose into said locker, then make sure I can physically pin the locker key to my clothing.
Plant 5000 trees! When Dollywood or Silverdollar city cut down a tree to build a ride, they plant 2 more to replace it. This is why their parks are so gorgeous! Magic Mountain was so beautiful in the beginning, and now it has the feeling of being a parking lot. And what’s with that crappy chain-link unpainted fence!
10 years ago I’d say a city walk wouldn’t work there, but there’s a lot of housing going in plus it’s at a pivotal point on the 5 specifically heading South into LA. You can already see the investments right off the exit. Although, I think if an entertainment district was to be created it would be owned by a third party or the city. Hotels could become a byproduct of it all, but I agree that these additions would benefit the park regarla of who owns what.
While having hotels across the way of the park there’s already hotels in the area and that would mean less people going to hotels plus I believe the building that used to once house the gift shop near the iconic Six Flags California sign might be coming back but if not that’s something you could implement if you owned Magic Mountain
Every theme park with a dedicated hotel ever has hotels scattered in the area but still have a successful on site hotel. Look at Knott's, Disney, Cedar Point, Legoland, etc.
Excellent video. I love all your ideas. Magic Mountain was my homepark from 1986 - 1995. Now I live in the east and my homepark is Great Adventure. Personally I wish both these parks were owned by someone other than Six Flags. Then maybe they could reach their full potential. That company has been in a state of disarray for years already and it's obvious they cannot keep up with their competitors (who are, at the moment, mopping the floor with Six Flags in this current coaster war). They think their feat of setting a few (records) will sustain their brand long term but, like you mentioned in the video, that angle has gotten stale. The ceo recently mentioned "Oh we are returning to building record breaking rides." Yeah, over in Six Flags Qiddiya, a park that is only leasing their name and it's the arabs who are actually doing the building and funding it. What about here on American soil where the company is headquartered??? (((Crickets))) The sad true fact is this company does not have the benjamins to reach the elite status of the other theme park operators.
Yea! I agree with alot of this stuff, funnily enough it sorta seems six flags has been changing up their merchandise. It's not anything on cedar fail level but it's getting there
Magic Mountain definitely needs to work on Park upkeep including repainting rides making sure all restaurants are open and running improving operations using unused space they also need to get more non-coaster rides more family rides and definitely more flat rides
For sure!! After going on a handful of coasters my head is throbbing! I want another peaceful water ride to enjoy. A log ride 2.0 could come back! They should have never gotten rid of it.
Great ideas. Many days Six Flags parks around the country have such poor and slow operations it feels like a repeated slap in the face all day long. Talk about raining on a parade...
•B&M should Retrack Goliath. Remove most / all of the original track like Steel Phantom/Phantom’s Revenge, add forceful elements, make the first drop steeper like 85°, repurpose the tunnel for the other half / near the end of the ride and remove the mid brake run and add low to the ground whippy snappies & shorten duration by 1,000 feet (it’s long af). •Protect Viper from removal. It’s a landmark attraction. •The rest I have no idea. Twisted Colossus is cool and everything but it’s odd that they would do something so extreme to a landmark attraction that people loved. Magic Mountain is fun but I don’t enjoy it like the other Six Flags I’ve been to.
Definitely gotta make Sunday the ride official. 😄 Food here sucks, so there needs to be lots of improvement there. That tram that goes up samurai summit needs to be working all the time, instead of none of the time. That walk is grueling, especially during the summer. I would love a giga coaster, but I’d be happy with one like Maverick at Cedar Point. It’s not large or tall but still packs a punch.
I agree with most of what you said. They also need to add Disney style rides to bugs bunny world and draw more families… they need to focus on how to draw whole families. They have the characters now they need to develop the attractions
Ironically I just came back from Fiesta Texas and noticed that! I forgot to mention it in my vlog but I thought that was very ironic considering I had just recently made this video 😅
also if i owned six flags and it came time for a new ride i would add something that can help first time riders take the leap from small gentle rides to something with more thrill like Manta at Seaworld San Diego since first timers may be scared or nervous
Too many wide open, dead, sun beaten plazas in the park! Add more greenery, seating and shade structures! More ride variety including another excellent water ride! At least the parking lot is being overhauled, but how long will it take?? Remove the discomfort collars from WCR! A seatbelt and lapbar are fine.
I seen and met "Wierd" Al Yankovich at that "bear" theatre. my brother seen Cheap Trick at the bigger theatre in the back. would be great to see big name acts return to MM...but how?
Great video. A lot of what you brought out in this video were similar to my idea. As far as a resort, I believe Five Points owns that plot of land in front of the park as well as the one above Roaring Rapids....which are gonna be utilized for industrial areas.
Have they added much to the land in front of the park I don’t think they have for years now it has been said that their gonna build a hotel there and the people that own that land do absolutely nothing with it so why not give it to the park
@@steveo5180 No. I wish. Magic Mountain itself was built by the real estate land owner in the area (Newhall Land and farming) and only exist at all because they were trying to lure people up there to buy houses.
I was just there on Thursday and employees were saying that the new CEO is bad and he's making the park lose money. Starting the 2nd week of January the park will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays 😡
I want security on most rides and on bikes, I want benches, shade n mist spray EVERYWHERE, I want more shuttles to transport parking, I want medical stations, I want single rider lines, I want tvs everywhere, I want ride status screens everywhere, WE ALL WANT skytower bk, I want cameras everywhere, I want more charicters everywhere
Offer unsweetened Ice Tea everywhere you have soft drinks. This pisses me off at all California six flags parks. We need drink options besides water that does not have corn syrup or artificial sweeteners.
As a member of Six Flags upper management, we aren't going to implement any of this and here's why: You're mindset is about offering a better experience for the guest, and that doesn't align with our company values. You're not thinking like a bean counter. You're asking us to take our own company net income and invest it back into the park. You're also asking us to hire more people, which would raise our payroll to the point where we'd have to cut our own salaries. Do you even know what the operating costs of a Gulfstream G700 are? We're not going to offer free lockers and remove another potential revenue stream. If someone loses their phone on the ride and comes complaining to our office, not our problem. The signs clearly say don't carry loose items on rides. As for improving our merchandise, we would have to hire graphic designers and consultants which would cost even more money. We're happy keeping our merchandise the minimalist, stale AI generated crap it is now. People buy our tickets, visit our park, form long lines, and they'll keep doing it as long as we keep X2 and Tatsu running at least 50% of the the time with one train.
"If someone loses their phone it's not our problem" If you are who you say you are, that's honestly just really sad how little you care about guest satisfaction. The lockers aren't about revenue, it's about efficiency. The free lockers would only be in place at larger rides and are only large enough to fit smaller items in it, even Dr Diabolical’s Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas successfully implemented it 😅 You wouldn't lose any revenue to it considering every ride has free loose article systems. As for people buying tickets and coming; attendance is ridiculously low, and guest experience/satisfaction is rapidly declining; Cedar Fair, Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld are all offering much better experiences around their whole chains than Six Flags, and it's sad how mismanaged and poorly operated the thrill capital of the world has become. Not that upper management of Six Flags actually cares though 😂
Also "*Your mindset about guest experience 'doesn't align with our company values'" The entire goal of a theme park industry is to provide guest service and experiences 😅 I doubt I'm talking to someone in upper management 😂 and even if I am, I think you're better off working for an insurance company or something 🙃
Sell Scream, make that area a VIP entrance only for diamond members or those willing to pay an extra $6 or something. Hire another company or start a new theming division to retheme everything better like the hollywood associated people did with Terminator salvation the ride.
I loved the 365 from a guest's perspective, but I personally feel like it might be super difficult to keep every ride operating reliably at full capacity every day, and having those off days helps with general park maintenance!
@@M-NL2 indeed that’s the only downside. I’m doing a trip in February and I was frustrated to find out the park was not open on weekdays. So I’m going on a weekend. Not to big of a deal.
Is Goliath, Riddler's Revenge, Fulll Throttle, sunday the ride, scream, and viper all closed due to maintenance?
Yep. one of the biggest problems with this park is usually only half the coasters are open.
@@gorbshal2598 No there usally open
I agree with most of what you said. They also need to add Disney style rides to bugs bunny world and draw more families… they need to focus on how to draw whole families. They have the characters now they need to develop the attractions
Bathroom updates and a lot more EV chargers need to be a priority.
Dr Diabolical in Fiesta Texas has Lockers and they're free and i had a great experience with it that can work with Magic Mountain
Ironically I just came back from Fiesta Texas and noticed that! I forgot to mention it in my vlog but I thought that was very ironic considering I had just recently made this video 😅
Fright fest is my favorite time of year, do t take anything away from it lol
14:58 I KNEW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW THE SPIDER ON THERE DURING HALLOWEEN 😦
also if i owned six flags and it came time for a new ride i would add something that can help first time riders take the leap from small gentle rides to something with more thrill like Manta at Seaworld San Diego since first timers may be scared or nervous
After the riot they had at the front theater after a concert, they aren’t going to do concerts again.
They can use that space near twisted and scream as an exit
Come ride with Melanin Coaster Network on February 18th! We have exclusive ride time on Wonder Woman, Twisted Colossus, and Batman!
Great video. A lot of what you brought out in this video were similar to my idea.
As far as a resort, I believe Five Points owns that plot of land in front of the park as well as the one above Roaring Rapids....which are gonna be utilized for industrial areas.
Thank you! If SFMM had the budget, I would definitely wanna at least attempt to purchase the land for sure!
Have they added much to the land in front of the park I don’t think they have for years now it has been said that their gonna build a hotel there and the people that own that land do absolutely nothing with it so why not give it to the park
Didn’t SFMM own a lot of that land that is currently being developed for new homes? I believe they sold that land
@@steveo5180 not to my knowledge
@@steveo5180 No. I wish. Magic Mountain itself was built by the real estate land owner in the area (Newhall Land and farming) and only exist at all because they were trying to lure people up there to buy houses.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Chad video all around.
a 2nd gate for overflow days. Cedar Point has 3 gates.
Maybe that second entrance can be for season pass holders.
Hotels is a GREAT idea
Great video!!
Tear down goliath and make it into a B&M Giga coaster, but the colors possibly orange, and black to make it Goliath Reborn.
Yeah that would be so cool!
I was just there on Thursday and employees were saying that the new CEO is bad and he's making the park lose money. Starting the 2nd week of January the park will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays 😡
What??? No!
I’m already planning to go in the middle of the week! And that is NOT going to help crowds at all!
They'll be open Fridays & Mondays, as well
Why are there a lot of trees around the New Revolution? It makes that area look like. a damn forest
Is that a bad thing tho?
I personally love the forest like feel
I want security on most rides and on bikes, I want benches, shade n mist spray EVERYWHERE, I want more shuttles to transport parking, I want medical stations, I want single rider lines, I want tvs everywhere, I want ride status screens everywhere, WE ALL WANT skytower bk, I want cameras everywhere, I want more charicters everywhere
If you wanted to you could get b&m to make goliath better with the existing layout
Offer unsweetened Ice Tea everywhere you have soft drinks. This pisses me off at all California six flags parks. We need drink options besides water that does not have corn syrup or artificial sweeteners.
WAY better intro now.
As a member of Six Flags upper management, we aren't going to implement any of this and here's why:
You're mindset is about offering a better experience for the guest, and that doesn't align with our company values.
"If someone loses their phone it's not our problem"
If you are who you say you are, that's honestly just really sad how little you care about guest satisfaction. The lockers aren't about revenue, it's about efficiency. The free lockers would only be in place at larger rides and are only large enough to fit smaller items in it, even Dr Diabolical’s Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas successfully implemented it 😅
You wouldn't lose any revenue to it considering every ride has free loose article systems.
Also "*Your mindset about guest experience 'doesn't align with our company values'"
The entire goal of a theme park industry is to provide guest service and experiences 😅
I doubt I'm talking to someone in upper management 😂 and even if I am, I think you're better off working for an insurance company or something 🙃
@@M-NL2 Bruh you just got trolled
@@xygomorphic44 yeah I figured when I read the comment, I'm like is this guy seriously explaining how shitty the company really is 😂
Sell Scream, make that area a VIP entrance only for diamond members or those willing to pay an extra $6 or something. Hire another company or start a new theming division to retheme everything better like the hollywood associated people did with Terminator salvation the ride.
Riddler Revenge idea yes put different restrains
I would make the park go back to 365 operation for sure!
Crowd calendars predict it should still be fairly low in crowds. And at least all the rides should be open…. Hopefully
I'd do that & add Coaster Power Hours, or something like exclusive passholder nights
The one ride missing from SFMM is a 4-D Free Spin to replace Green Lantern! LOL
Why do they need that when they have the OG 4-D coaster in X²
Bring back the monorail!!!
love this
Bro so I’m at tatsu rn and they operating both stations 💀
Yes but they are only running two trains 🙃
I know it’s hilly but I believe the land behind Viper is planned to be leveled and made into a strip mall shopping center. I absolutely hate the idea and think it should belong to Magic Mountain.
I vote you for Six Flags MM President 🫡
Get rid of Goliath, and replace it with an intamin hyper!
Also add the seaworld policy on pov recording
Oh yeah 100%
@@M-NL2 nowadays we have to wear like 2 sweaters and cut a hole in one to sneak a chest mount in but they want to keep taking Ls and I’m just doing seaworld povs and promoting them
Forbidden Bench!
Also STOP LEAVING SO MANY COASTERS CLOSED AT ONCE. This seems to be a selim problem, never noticed it before he took over
W intro
I’m in this one?😂
Absolutely my child
It's just too busy on the weekends. Let people with a season pass go once a month to limit the people that use it as a babysitter.
But that gets rid of the point of it 😂
Plus, six flags would get less money so There will barely be updates
Hello mnl
Trollface
people who work in the theme park industry and people who make videos on the theme park industry are not comparable. making videos on youtube doesnt make anyone a professional or expert on things theyve never done. random opinions have never improved the world. people who arent experts on things dont have the capacity to know or suggest what theme parks need
If I owned SFMM, Viper is getting removed, then do nothing else
That’s evil
W
Nah viper is awesome. Its smooth tall fast and the inversions are great.
Hell no! Viper is one of the best rides there lol
@@gorbshal2598 "smooth" 💀
Entrada South is going in with a 270 room hotel and a amphitheater along with 7 multi stories parking structures with around 6,000 parking spots. Grading had started during 2019 with removal of all the trees lining the road entering the toll booth area. Of course in 2020 everything went sideways.
