    I remembered listening to this album from start to finish...it really captures the monotony of living in the suburbs and wanting something more perceived by moving into the big city but towards the end there's a quieter reflection of the trade-off having a job in the city & the nostalgia for the younger years...

      Yeah!
      And then there's the whole vaguely apocalyptic layer too

    Far out man. This is one of my all time favourites from Arcade Fire (along with Neighbourhood #3 off Funeral). Never thought I'd be able to play something like this, but you've broken it up into manageable chunks so that we can understand what is actually going on here. Thank you so much again man!

      Re stretchy chords: always make sure your fretting hand thumb is upright behind the fingers - if it's off to the side, or wrapped around, it'll choke your fingers and make it impossible to open the hand!

    Eric this was amazing! I have a question about notating music, either your own small ideas or for rehearsals. Of course tabs is one option and I use those generally, but recently I tried getting into lead sheets from these fake books in jazz music and it felt like a whole 'nother world. I know how the different types of chords are built on a guitar but there is just so much going on, for example in terms of rhythm. I'm so impressed by people even ebing able to improvise over those. How do you usually write down musical ideas, other than tabs?

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
