BANG OLUFSEN BEO CENTER 2300 REPAIR

Join me as I fix the Bang Olufsen 2300 Beo Center and Beo lab 2500 Loudspeakers. This iconic hi-fi has a few issues. CD wont play, Doors are broken, Belts are perished, dull display and the speakers are only working in mono. This repair guide relates to the following Bang Olufsen Systems:

Just bought a beocenter 2300 with a pair of beolab 2500 speakers, for €30 in denmark. Only the glass wont open automaticly, everything else works perfect, and not a scratch anywhere. A true design icon, and for €30!!... its unbelivable, my parents bought this brand new in 1997 for around €2.000.

You actually replaced the CD laser the hard way. Just unscrew the Silver CD drive with 4 screws from the black carrier and unplug the cables from IT. Leave everything else in place. No springs to fiddle with, etc.

Yes, I did like you said. The real challenge is pulling out the laser pick-up and inserting new ones, I literally struggled and spent an hour just doing that.

Wow, you are a Pro. I spent a whole day just replacing the rubber belts. Door string I messed up once and had to sell the unit for spare parts :( as I did not see your video at that time.

It was a nightmare to figure out :). lots of trial and error. the harderst part was knowing which was around the string was threaded .

Great video! I recently got my aunts Beocenter 2300 - problem is all settings get lost when its disconnected from power. Is there some kind of memory battery (where?) and can be replaced?

Hi!, I cannot control my BeoCenter 2300 remotely. I do not have the original remote control but a compatible one which seems not working. I wondered if there is a way to verify if I have ti fix something on the IR receiver of the BeoCenter and how can I verify if such IR works or not?

Hi Andrew, I have a similar system where the glass doors open correctly but will only half close. Do you have any advice, and think any of the items you replaced in your video would assist with the glass doors closing correctly. Also do you have a link to the kit you used to to repair the doors on your system. thanks and regards.

I think i just googled the belt, and id say thats your issue. Before making this vid, i had put it all back together, and the doors would not close properly. So i ordered the belts and the problem was solved The belt needs to be tight and fresh to transfere the torque.

Hello, how are you? I have a B&O 2300. One speaker gives very little sound. I changed the STK, the result did not change, could be the reason, thank you very much.

Great video - can you repair mine, I love it but am useless at such fiddly work. The doors on mine are not working. The CD etc works fine.

This is an excellent resource, but you've cut the video at opportune times showing how certain pieces of the assembly come off, such as the plastic bit at the top that covers the door mechanism. I've been trying for the better part of a day to figure out how it unseats, can't figure it out.

I would like to know what is the model number of the beosound 2300 laser pickup. I have a beosound 2300 my cd player does not read the model number of the laser pickup is TDA1302T N43250 HSH9449. Because this number no longer exists. I want to know what is the replacement number. My technician told me that it takes the original.
