Another thing I want to add to this video on the vitex notes - I would also recommend getting your prolactin tested. If your prolactin is very low vitex would not be best suited for you as it lowers prolactin. Before I prescribe this herb in my clinic I always try to get a prolactin reading first so I can be sure it is right for the patient x

To add to your wonderful progesterone video, *Dr. Mindy Pelz* has written a hormonal support fasting book called *"Fast Like a Girl"* that is a must-read for hormonal support of the _whole_ cycle AND fat loss (along with other fasting healing goals), too. I adopted a fasting lifestyle 8 months ago at age 51 and am slimmer and healthier in every way than I've ever been!

I am a male with this problem. I took The Saliva hormone test and my test showed very low progesterone. This explains a lot of my issues. I started taking wild yam root, vitamin C, Magnesium glycinate, zinc with copper, Grass-Fed beef adrenal. I just ordered wild yam cream to alternate to see if this works better than the capsules. I also suspect that my thymus is not functioning right. This has been going on for a long time. I finally have a naturopath Doctor to guide me. But it's good to hear you talk about this. Low progesterone in men causes prostate problems, like urinating at night, swollen prostate, anxiety, depression, stomach problems, low sperm count, erectile disfunction, blurry vision, low libido, adrenal fatigue, hormone Imbalance, low testosterone and so on....

Nettle and oatstraw are gold for magnesium and trace minerals but nettle is low in sodium and magnesium uses sodium and adrenals need the sodium too so that’s why I add oatstraw it has sodium but I drink Himalayan salt in my water. I feel a thousand times better getting these minerals in this way

Hormones work in conjunction with each other, if one is off the rest will be affected. That’s why it’s called a hormone imbalance. I got on bio identical hormone replacement when I went into menopause and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Thinking of using wild yam cream for bone health. I'm in my 60s and had pre ovarian failure, pelvic floor congestion and they both led to full hysterectomy. Then we discovered (because my mother didn't know) that she had been given DES.while pregnant with me. I was 35 then.

I am taking bio identical progesterone and feel absolutely miserable on it. Rage like Anger, hot flashes, extreme sleepiness, headaches, dizziness and edema in fingers. I started taking it and thought it would improve my PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis, hairloss, hirsutism and depression because it’s advertised as such… turns out if you have chronic stress in your body it turns into cortisol even if you are supplementing with bio identical progesterone which contributes to the issue I have in the first place. I don’t even have a stressful life (anymore but I used to) but have a bunch of chronic conditions and C-PTSD along with old injuries that don’t seem to heal. I guess I’m too far gone because my healthy diet, supplements and now calm life aren’t reversing the damage of a previous traumatic life.
Can anyone relate to this? What should I do? :( I feel so helpless and I’m only in my 20s…

I took vitex tincture for years. I actually felt "addicted" to bc it made me feel so good and def. kept pms symptoms at bay! My question is how does it work during and after menopause? Does the vitex make the body produce more progesterone (and if so, from where? just the ovaries or the adrenals?) or is it an exogenous source of progesterone? Thank you!

You would need to support and correct the adrenals and this will have an opposite effect. You can then build progesterone once the adrenals/cortisol is under control. Then you can build progesterone and see your levels increase.

Hi, I can relate to you. I bled for over 3 months and at times the period was so heavy I thought I would bleed out. My doctor said I had cysts on my ovaries and polyps on my uterus. Through much prayer and the use of some herbal supplements, God had healed me of those issues. That was over 3 years ago.
Now I am 52 and battling anxiety, insomnia, and mild depression. I had a period three months ago and it was very heavy. No I am starting to try some supplements: GABA, 5-HTP, melatonin (sleep), progesterone cream, and a supplement with vitex to balance my hormones. When I had my heavy, long periods I try this prosuct called ESTROSENSE and it was a miracle for me. This may help you. Praying you get the help you need.

I'm so confused. Some people say estrogen builds the lining up and then progesterone starts to rise which stops the period. I'm not sure who to believe. Because it's estrogen dominance that causes heavy bleeding for some. I can't imagine high progesterone causing heavy bleeding if it kept building that lining.

    • @SanctifiedLady
      @SanctifiedLady ปีที่แล้ว +1

You getting it all mixed up. Drop in progesterone brings down period
Depends on what your situation is
      So many things causes bleeding
High progesterone doesn’t cause any bleeding…. That’s why ppl get the progesterone IUD’s to avoid bleeding after 3mos. It stops.
      High estrogen is PCOS

I had total thyroidectomy at age 18 because of thyroid canser. I also have pcos & i have struggeled with infertility for 2 years now. (I was 26 when we started trying, now im 28).
I was recomended to take vitex, and i took it one cycle and on that cycle i ovulated cd 13 or 14 (im not sure which because i got positive ovulation test for 2 days, both cd 12 and 13). But, it elevated my tsh 😔 it used to be 0.3, but after vitex it raised to 1.6... and because of thyroid canser background, i need to keep tsh under 2... So is vitex safe for me or no? Im sad because it really helped with my cycle, but i dont want it to mess my tsh levels. Expecially because always when my thyroid medication is changed it completly messes my cycle and i get one cycle that is like 64 days... They dont change my thyroid medication now, because tsh still under 2. But it shouldnt get any higher.

I've been suffering with it for a year and a half as I didn't want to take antibiotics, but had to in Autumn as it was scarring and affecting my esteem. I've now just come off of the antibiotics 🙄😣. I'm currently taking cod liver oil, evening primrose oil, zinc, vitamin D, probiotics, a green supplement, Ashawaganda. I'm a bit concerned I'm taking too many supplements 😂. Eat healthy, cut out dairy, cut out sugar since last week and was contemplating milk thistle and vitex. It's so difficult to work out what hormones are fluctuating!

@@juliettelewis2841 Oh Juliette I totally understand and it can be so overwhelming trying to figure everything out ❤️ But keep going healing can take time and it is sooo worth it! ❤️
From the supplements you have said it does sound like a lot I would suggest maybe instead of cod liver oil try Bare biology Rise & Shine (amazing quality and you have som added vitamin D there too) I would maybe even say take out the evening primrose whilst you try this supplement too so you can focus on 1 at a time. Vitamin D and probiotics is great! Green supplement watch out for spirulina and chlorella (sometimes this can worsen peoples breakouts very individual but make sure you are suiting this supplement well) and then ashwagandha is great! Great for stress and the adrenals however, make sure you know you haven't got high testosterone (ashwaghanda can increase testosterone in some).
Milk thistle is great for the liver I personally prefer dandelion and vitex yes fantastic to try! If you feel like you need more help with all this feel free to reach out I do work 121 with clients :) www.ebonyjanehensler.com xx

@@EbonyJaneNutrition Thank you so much. I will message you. I think the problem is everyone's hormones are different. Like you said, if testosterone is the issue, some supplements can make acne worse, but in some people, make it better. That's the tricky bit. Finding out what's going on with your own hormones. I don't think testosterone is the issue as I'm not growing hair on my face and I don't have a deeper voice 😂. Thank you for the info on spirulina etc, as my supplement has that in. And yes, a supplement that has say, vitamin D and cod liver oil is better than individual pills!
