Could be worse. My high school drama club's last curtain call for MacBeth, the curtain caught a pillar that almost fell into the front row of the audience. XD

@@sana.404 I know. There I am, standing off to the side, screaming "CATCH IT! CATCH IT!" Thankfully, they stopped it from hitting anyone, so we can laugh about it now. lol

    Lol
I was at a highschool performance of les mis a few days ago and during their bows the lights were all flickery, the stage lights and the auditorium lights kept switching between on and off, they did eventually figure it out though.

I saw it 6 days later on Sep 16, and I noticed that the lift was moving slower (specifically during The Whole Being Dead Thing Pt. 4, Andrew jogged to the front of the stage after he finished rising up.) Also when Lydia and Charles went to the Netherworld in the same scene, Ms. Argentina got a little to close and I could see her arm poking out of the wings.

Have you any idea what happened? I love how positive they all were about the situation 😂

Vaguely, yes. Zonya Love said “you gotta pay automation overtime” so I’m assuming the technical aspects of the show malfunctioned really hard towards the end. Not really sure why, but before the curtain call (and for the first time ever that I am aware of) the lift that allows Lydia to levitate in Jump in the Line was also not working at the end of the show. She didn’t fly at all. It had worked for Barbara earlier, but stopped towards the end of the show. So in totality, the Lydia lift and stage lift for the curtain call malfunctioned. Everyone was confused and didn’t know what to do so that’s why curtain call was off. Due to the confusion caused by this, I think that the backstage crew didn’t run out the Sandworm puppet for the curtain call either. That’s why the cast themselves still did the motion and expected the Sandworm to come out. So overall I think it was a big tech malfunction, and they didn’t have time to communicate.

And yes they were so positive! Dana Steingold is awesome for finding a way to still get everyone out there. I adore Beetlejuice curtain calls, so even though it was unfortunately not normal, I was happy she was able to bring the cast out still.

@@sana.404 Oh okay! I’m not sure but is the house supposed to move forwards at the end? Because I noticed that was also this forward.
Sorry I was tired when I wrote that, what I mean, is is the house supposed to move back at the end after jump in the line??

@@EEEEEEEE1572 yeah, the house was suppose to move back towards the curtain call to give space on stage

That's what I thought! I think it was probably something to do with a complication with that as well. @@bread6449

Did they stop the music and restart or did everyone just get out in time for the Beetlejuice bow?
Also you can see that the curtain lowers much slower which is interesting

They got out in time, the band kept playing

Good eye with the curtain yeah! Tech was really not tech-ing towards the end lmao (or maybe they lowered it manually, I’m not sure how it works)
