I think a lot of companies are really missing a trick by not adding sapphire crystals to their watches. I think most people would pay 10 or 20 dollars more for a piece of sapphire crystal. It makes the watch a lot more inviting. Anyway, great review of a nice little watch!
@@WATCHingJames That's it. Don't get me wrong, there's more than specs to a watch and there are plenty of more expensive watches that I will happily look at even without a sapphire. But a lot of people will look at mineral and just go "no". And I understand them. It's just silly not to put it on watches over about ~$70 in 2022
I bought this watch after your first video. Thank you! The lume is excellent. And I love the date window as it turns out. Being able to see 3 dates really comes in handy at midnight. My turtle was starting to change the date last night and was unreadable so I checked my Berny Compressor and the change was obvious.
Pretty cool look SC style watch, Not my cup of tea but still looks pretty cool, saying that I do quite like the unique day date complication. Nice job on the review.

i bought the black variant when it came out my seconds hand does not jump maybe lucky in this respect but wow its such a lil tank on your wrist....shame it did not have a nh35 and sapphire crystal as it sits very flush !!! Lume is very good indeed also !!! highly recommend this for anyone who wants a compressor style watch !!!
I have had mine for a while now - love the watch, hate the band. It came apart when I was taking my coat off, hit the stone floor and dented the case. Crystals are ok. Getting a nylon band for it. It is a fun watch to wear and adds some color to my watch case too. Lume is incredible.
Had this one a while back in the same colourway with the Berny logo thought it was a really good watch the only negative i found was a misaligned day, but I have to admit that I'm one of those that doesn't like the name. 😁

@@WATCHingJames The architecture of the seagull is based on the 8205-15 but with hacking so shares the same characteristics but its luck of the draw as to how severe the skipping & stumbling is on either but that said i'd never have another 8205-15 but oddly enough i have a 8200 (2nd one) that doesn't noticeably suffer that much .
For the money, the value is spectacular, but there are a couple of aesthetic features that I really don't like. First, the "inverted cone" bezel tha'ts larger than the case. It would have been MUCH better a cylindrical one, as large as the case, or a standard "truncated cone" one. Second, the arrow shaped hands. Simple "stick" rectangular hands, as large as the indexes, would have been much better looking. A shame for the skipping second hand.
I know they have recently upgraded them which would definitely make them a better watch. But that is a shame about the price. Maybe in the November sale they will drop enough to make them worth buying again.
Ya but the beat rate is simple enough ti adjust so its not that big of an issue. You have a time grapher so in just few min you could have it running at a better rate. Do you know how to adjust that?

I agree. I think perhaps they use it as a “luxury” item and save it for their more expensive watches.

Oh wow. I had not seen that. The 8205 is not my favourite movement but I would pick it over the Seagull.

Been looking at these in the Aliexpress sale, unfortunately they are £85 including shipping to the UK.
