It's why the music continues to deteriorate through the different stages detailed in the description. It represents the deterioration of the patient's mind. This adaptation is a brilliant, phenomenal way to drive home the messaging of the original work. Us as viewers know these songs intimately, they're long ingrained in our minds and memories, and thus hearing them distorted and abstracted in this way makes the concept all the more brutally clear.

27:00 one of my favourite part of the playlist, you can hear the memories overlaps each other into a confusing mess as your memories gradually collapsing, you're supposed to remember Violet City but then National Park interrupts the melody and then eventually took over at the end of it as if you haven't already reminisce it from just earlier. It's such an uncomfortable listening experience, one that is brilliantly executed

It hit me especially hard because the National Park theme is like my favourite from the entire GSC soundtrack so it felt both welcome and kind of not. For someone who has ADHD it's so relatable, and often when I try to just recall songs in my head they keep mushing together

    47:16 is the heaviest part.
A sudden moment of clarity. You know what's coming next - you recall it from before, and you've heard it many times.
But then the pause holds for just a bit too long, and it's back to the fuzzy vague familiarity that almost reminds you... but not quite like it once did.
The rest of the song I spent waiting for another rush of clarity like that... wow

Including the RSE Surf Theme near the end was a stroke of genius, a theme that a lot of people who grew up with the gen 3 games will have had drilled into their heads (like myself). The way it's distorted makes it sound almost like roaring and the way it still reverberates into the final stage is really haunting

I agree but there's also a beauty in it some tracks have small sections where the audio is not distorted eterna forest for example and village bridge it's as if even in the later stages of the disease there's still some intact fragments of the past memory really well made and great attention to detail to add it on tsuki's parts

    • @dabsouljaboy
      @dabsouljaboy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

I'll say it also makes me terrified as well. Pokemon melodies are about as core as memories can be to me, and I have spent consecutive hours comforting grandparents with dementia and a day caretaking for this bedridden man with dementia. I don't know how to describe being in really continuous close conversational proximity with that condition besides that it really messes me up when I think too long about it. I don't really know how to relay the experience of caretaking for the man, but it was just heartbreaking; less so because I felt for the actual individual, but more for what he represented as a victim of such a condition. I actually thought the man himself was an awful person on account of how he described his own life. I was just in no position to judge him; he was like a wounded injured animal with no wits. His dementia forced him to lay there on basically his deathbed vulnerable with me for hours and I had to just do my best to make sense of it and respond as a friend would. It's truly harrowing, I don't know how else to describe it. It's one of those things where I feel that ignorance truly is bliss.

This playlist is so well made. Thank you for putting it together and making people more aware of Alzheimers and Dementia.
At first I clicked on this video expecting a creepy collection of Pokemon music and came out sobbing about what my grandma had to go through. She lived like this this for 10 damned years and I saw her slowly fade away, not recognizing me or my father (her son). I remember the worst moment being her thinking I was my big sister, because in her memories I was a little child. She couldn't comprehend me growing older and from that moment on didn't recognize me anymore. It's been a year since her passing, but this playlist hit me like a f*** train.
Thank you again for bringing attention to such a horrible disease and I hope research will soon find a cure, so no one experiences this incomprehensible horror and no loved ones have to hear the sentence "Who are you?" ever again.

pulled this up late at night while playing ffxiv. have not listened to the original album this is taking inspiration from but i will check it out next for sure! while i dont think listening to this late at night was a smart decision, i also had no idea what i was getting into, as the first part was a fairly standard pokemon music mix. but i decided to tough it out and im writing this comment as i listen to the last entry. however, im sure the added fear of nighttime only adds to the experience.
i think my favorite part was in village bridge where it becomes clear riiight as one of the bars end, so you only get to hear the last split second of the man singing before he stops and then it gets muddled again. while village bridge also had the sporadic section later on, i think that moment earlier in the song stood out to me the most. i feel like it captured well the act of reaching for something, but the moment you grab it, it goes away.
definitely would look forward to more thematic stuff like this from you!!

(TSUKI, I HOPE WITH ALL MY HEART THAT YOU SEE THIS) Trying not to cry about this is really hard... a mix of dusty and scratched nostalgia for the old days with the dark fear of the future... for those who have a history of Alzheimer's in the family, it's something to really think about, my grandmother had the disease, I was very young, like 5-6 years old, I didn't really understand why she stayed in bed and couldn't talk anymore, when I got older and started to understand things better, then I had a minimal notion of what had happened, but only now, at 18, I was able to understand, at least a little bit how my dear grandmother felt... Pokémon was very present in my pre-adolescence, almost all of these songs were experienced by the little 10-year-old me, and man, to think that in the future I can feel all this love I have for these songs and for this franchise fading away in the midst of my memories, it's bizarre... it must have been really hard for me my grandma going through all that, everything she loved and liked, everything she went through and did, getting mixed up and deteriorating, bro, thank you, really. I feel like this video managed to convey to me at least 0.1% of her pain, that after a long time, she can finally be minimally understood, seriously, this video made me understand a little of her pain, man...
I can't contain myself, my friend, I'm bursting into tears writing this, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you, you made me understand something that perhaps I could never understand.
this is what I think is missing in today's arts, man, it changed the way I "saw" my grandma... seriously, this is art in its purest form. I'm grateful to be alive at this moment...

This is truly art, I just want to let the creator really know how genuinely impressive this is, not just on a technical level but also as a piece of meta modernist art. To Truly understand this piece to the greatest extent, I think you should know “Everywhere At The End Of Time” have played Diamond and Pearl, Heart Gold and Soul silver, then Black and White. You also should have Some kind of knowledge of Dementia and or Alzheimer’s.
This is just truly terrifying to the point where i can only skip around for a few seconds after stage 3.
Not just on an artistic level is this terrifying but on a deeply personal one, to say I grew up on Pokémon would be an understatement it really was my life line. And to have such important pieces of music that I listened too in that moment remind me of the most horrific event in my life is just so terrifying!

The image? The background is from the original everywhere at the end of time and the pokemon centre is from emerald I then edited it and combined the two 😊

What happened to the original description? Didn't the description previously have which songs belonged in each stage? Am I going crazy, is this a Mandela effect happening in real time?

I thought it had the different stages last week(at the time of posting)?? I'm also confused as to where the different stages are in the description.

😂 haha no you’re not going crazy it did have descriptions before but I removed them I’ve made a new version that’s more like the original eateot its a 4 hour long video should be coming out in a few weeks time after a few other scheduled videos so I’ve decided to change this one to a regular playlist video with the added distortion effects. Trust me if this one made you emotional the one coming up will break you lmao

@TSUKi_Beats also I just wanna say, you are my favorite channel on TH-cam for pokemon music. One day I was scrolling and the you're a kid playing pokemon platinum again in a snow storm video popped up in my recommended (the third video ever on your channel) best decision I ever made to listen to it. Keep up the fantastic work

it's hard to put into words what i don't like about this trend, but it's never sat right with me. i think in general i just hate how the internet turns everything into a meme. the original was serious. i don't think the subject matter of alzheimer's particularly meshes well with silly cartoon animal nostalgia. seems like there's a bit of a tonal disconnect there. like "look, look! it's MY alzheimer's memories some day! :D"
like it's a fashion trend. and just like one, it'll vanish in like a year and nobody will be making these anymore. as if the disease vanished.
