  • In this video I will show you step by step procedure how to change timing belt and serpentine belt on Jeep Wrangler 2.8 Turbo Diesel. The engine is VM motori 2.8 CRD.
The process is self explanatory and takes about 3 hours if no hick ups. In my case, I had few )

Ahh very good! You're only the second video I have watched to run the motor AFTER fitting the belt! Brilliant! Thank you. Greetings from NZ

Done it 3 times. no prob. just have to mark few places. last 2 times then I got timing kit, with crank and cam lock tools. a bit easy and more confident )

I agree !! He got lucky. I mark the belt with white pen, 2 on the cam pulley, and crank pulley and fuel pump. I also move them to TDC beforehand in case they move. Then tape the belts together, and mark the new with the same lines. No problems then.

Thank you for doing that. Which bolts on the serpentine belt are left threated? Only the two idler pulley bolts in line before and after the generator or all 3 pulley bolts and the tensioner bolt as well?

You are welcome. The lefthand thread is the pulley under the generator.

@@unicaproservice2826For Everyone's Information, both upper pulleys are lefthand threaded and the pulley on the tensioner has a normal thread, however, difficult to undo because of the use of Loctite.

hello my name is Heber, I'm from Chile, I have a problem with a Wrangler like the one in the video. The problem is that by changing the time band, the camshaft sensor was turned and also the point of the camshafts was lost. I have the work tool for crankshaft and camshaft but as the sensor was turned it made me change the position of the cams and I can't find the position of the cams, I took out the valve cover and from behind the cam sprockets have their marks and match but I can't match the cams to the crankshaft. I hope you can understand the problem and if it is possible to help me a little please, thank you very much. Goodbye

hi. if its first time u r opening it, it may look tight. hold the pulley by inserting pry bar into the holes, and rotate the nut ccw. it will come loose. a good idea is to put some plywood in front of radiatot, so u dont damage it if wrench comes loose or so

if not gonna work on camshafts, not gonna change water pump, then no. be vigilant, swap belt carefully. If not experienced, then might get lock tools. 40some bucks on ebay.
