I... Am... Sorry... I too understand... The sheer POWER of Music... Indeed... I think I have found... The one track... That I would like for them to play... When it is MY turn... To say Goodbye... Thank You... For Sharing...
I usually programme games and listen to music on the side. But when I heard this, I had to stop everything I was doing. And look who the hell can transport so much emotion into a piece of music. You are not just playing something, you are the music itself in the truest sense of the word. Absolutely fantastic.
Listening to this, it sounds so simplistic, but there's the irony. A.K., I agree with your sentiment wholeheartedly. I love to watch and listen to this man bring something to life. It's like his instrument is a piece of him - an appendage of sorts that's attached to his heart. Have you heard him cover Ludovico Einaudi's Nuvole Bianche, yet? It will not disappoint.
So, Hannah... This is where your story begins. The day they departed. Despite knowing the journey... and where it leads... I embrace it. And I welcome every moment of it.
Thank you for this. I just watched a video where this song was used, and I couldn’t focus on what was being said in the video. I was just so focused on the music. I knew I’d heard it somewhere before, but I couldn’t remember where.
I lost my friend 11 years ago. Hearing this song floods me with such grief. My wife told me something so beautiful though. “Grief is unexpressed love.” In a way, I hope I don’t stop grieving. Thank you for this beautiful cover of such an impactful piece of music.
It's so interesting how music brings out different emotions. Last night I heard this song for the first time in the movie Arrival. After, I put it on Spotify and hopped on the bed with one of our dogs, he gave me that deep soulful stare that dogs have and we were connected in a weird way I can't explain. He got so licky and was kissing me so much, I got tears in eyes and smiled uncontrollably through three repeats of the song. I don't recall the last time I was overcome with happiness like that. Truly amazing piece of music.
I am a therapist - I am going to add this to my toolbox of music which can help with dysregulation and anxiety. Dope AF. Absolutely, consummately professional, beautiful, and flawless.
"On the nature of daylight" is such an iconic piece (Shutter island, Arrival), and your rendition is meticulously accurate as much as it is heartfelt and moving. I am a big fan of classical music played in movies, and covers of them, and this is one of the best I've heard in my life. Congrats to both of you, you are both very talented.
For 6 minutes and 24 seconds I finally felt like the craziness of the past year - all the struggles and all the loss - briefly subsided and let beauty come back into my heart. Thank you so much for this gift.
From my point of view: this is one of the greatest pieces of modern music out there. Ever since I first heard it in the “Shutter island” movie - I just can’t stop listening to it from time to time. It turns my soul inside-out every time and sets the storm of emotions and images in my head. Max Richter is a genius for sure: he was able to put so much “story” in a short music composition. It’s incredible. I was so pleased to hear you playing it, thank you.
i am a cellist myself, and every single one of the pieces you have made a cover of have been some of my all time favorites that i love to play as well. You are one one the most talented people i’ve come across in my days and are an inspiration to me and probably many others. I was so excited when i saw that you had posted another video, and when i saw what song it was i was completely in shock. thank you so much for the beautiful music and the incredibly hard work i know you’ve put into it! God bless you and please never stop playing!
I just need you to know how much I truly enjoy your music. Since covid I started working from home. I have listened to you everyday. I am a telemarketer.. I Know, I know... but..I have heard some incredible stories from all over the U.S stories from folks that I will never forget. Sad, lost, broken, retiree's who hadn't seen anyone, and some inspirational from the perseverance of our strength through such hard times. You were the background music. You are tied in so many memories of 2020 for me. I told my spouse just the other day once we go back to the office, outta of our safe bubble, I'll miss you the most. I still will have my breaks lol but you sir are amazing. I can't even 😭 thank you!
Every time that i'm alone and i start to think about my life, my future and the day that i'll leave this earth, this song comes up in my mind. Max Richter created my life anthem.
This tune means so much to me - so much emotion and feeling that words can’t describe. You nailed it - just perfect. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You change lives.
This is even better than the original recording, loved it so so so much! Thank you very much for the experience and thank you guys for giving us this exceptional performance.
This is so phenomenal. On the nature of daylight is one of my all time favourites, as it really, truly gets to you. You can feel the depth of its sadness in your soul, and I was excited to see that you and Caitlin have done it, if anyone can do it justice it’s you guys!
This bitter earth Well, what fruit it bears Ooh, this bitter earth And if my life is like the dust Ooh, that hides the glow of a rose What good am I? Heaven only knows Lord, this bitter earth Yes, can be so cold Today you're young Too soon, you're old But while a voice within me cries I'm sure someone may answer my call And this bitter earth Ooh, may not Oh, be so bitter after all This bitter earth Lord, this bitter earth What good is love Mm, that no one shares? And if my life is like the dust Ooh, that hides the glow of a rose What good am I? (What good am I?) Heaven only knows
All of your music is phenomenal. This is one of my favorite songs and when i saw this and it said "posted 19 minutes ago" a huge smile span across my face.
I am here, present in this moment writing this and with whoever needs to see this.. you will be okay. The darkest moments are when the light will shine the brightest. I always come back to these songs, playlists when I’m feeling uneasy, emotional or feel like I DONT deserve happiness. it took so much work but here I AM. Kuddos to the people who create this music, I always wonder if they’ve gone through hell and portray it through their music. Good luck to all in 2023 🙏🏼
I am BEYOND thrilled that y’all chose to perform this beautiful composition by Max Richter. It is truly one of my favorites and gives me chills. It is truly IDENTICAL and I can only imagine how proud Max Richter would be. Absolutely phenomenal, thank you both so much! 🙌🏽😌
To the 12 people so far that have disliked this... I would like to say 🖕🏻 a big F**k you... go and educate yourselves on music because this guy is amazing and I wish I had the talent that he’s got!!
Been a while since I listened to The Cello Guy. Didn't realize how much I needed it! So pure....so beautiful. You and Caitlin eased my night....thank you.
Every time I listen to you I get shivers and tears. Cannot even imagine hearing/seeing you play live. I think it would kill the man. Caitlyn is phenomenal as well, and am so excited to see this duo.
I have over a thousand Classical music songs in my library, hundreds of new age and Indian songs that are so beautiful. But, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard! I just subscribed.
Brother you have given me an appreciation for the cello that I never had before. Benedictus is my go to piece before meditation. Thank you for sharing your talent and love of music.
There's such an emotional quality to your playing that few musicians can convey, and it really touches the soul so deeply. Thank you for posting this, so beautiful. ❤
This is the loveliest performance of this piece that I have ever heard. Words cannot express how blessed I feel, that I am alive in this moment and able to see and hear you play.
Absolutely flawless. Thank you for dedicating yourself to perform such moving and wonderful music. I remember this piece from the ending sequence of Arrival, and you perfectly captured every nuance of poignancy. Thank you again
There's something about this song that put so much meaning and hope to it, yet there is a part of me that can still feel the pain and joy mixed in the melody. Uncertainty, sadness, and joy, and an urge to accept all of that because it's part of my journey. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with the world.
I first heard this on season 4 episode 9 time stamp 42:04 on Handmaid's Tale. This embodies June and Nick's love. I couldn't stop listening to it because something in it grabbed my soul. As I listen, I close my eyes and it vibrates through me...and I feel like I levitate. Then I come on here and see you've done a cover. And you two took me to tears. How did you embody the entire orchestra band with just you two? You've renewed my desire to want to pick up my violin again. THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL PERFECT, cover. Mr. Ritcher would be so proud, as am I🥰
it's good to listen to this music from your hands again. thank you for your effort. ops and madam, we haven't forgotten you either. thanks ! we want to see you more. 💙❤️️
And to add...her incoming flow is MARVELOUS...beautiful...felt as if I was swaying through beautiful crisp blue waters...smelling clean air...and feeling the touch of the breeze kiss my soul
Oh, Man! This is seriously one of my favorite songs, and have traditionally played most of my other favorite songs. I was super excited to see this video!
Ay cello guy I don’t know if you’ve seen Avatar the Last Airbender but there is a song called The Last Agni Kai and I think it’s right up your alley. I can only imagine how beautiful your cover would be! Maybe give it a listen? My favorite of yours is Hans Zimmer’s “time” but this one is amazing by the way!
As a person who's heart longs for peaceful music that rlly brings out my inner self and gives me inspiration, unfortunately my requirements are hardly met with most music, limiting my favs, and u sir are one of the few that do amazing heart touching music pieces that truly gives me inspiration to keep moving on, i am quite suicidal often and always look around for something that gives me a reason to stay, something that makes me believe yet again that life, is beautiful, even if it was for just a min. I love ur music, i love how u play like u are playing from the bottom of ur heart and i do wish u are doing well in this time of crisis, never give up on what u love, bc it's what keeps pushing u through during hard times. I love u ♡♡ Edit: to all the ppl who replied to my comment with kind and sweet words, thank u so much!!! It rlly is such a spirit lifter to know that some ppl out there still care for others, i hope u have an amazing life ♡♡♡
I lost my son to suicide five years ago today. I wish he could have seen his own beauty. Please know that you matter more than you can possibly know. There are many more beautiful songs in your future. Take care of your soul.
Victoria know you are loved, know you are a beautiful person, know that each breath you take is a reminder that your soul believes you can continue to live. Every time you decide to continue your life you’re like a seeding that pushed through the soil to flourish. Nourish yourself the best ways you can & allow yourself to bloom 💖🌟🙏
I feel this song can bridge all of humanity together. This song is the one that must be played when the darkness is lifted and a new day has become. This song has helped me on very dark days.
I've heard a lot of versions of this piece. I've also played it and I can say you are a consummate artist. I enjoyed watching you absorb the music as you played. What people that don't play this instrument can't understand is the sensation of resonance the cellist receives from the instrument. Caitlin Edwards was flawless as well. Thank you for recording this.
ur obviously amazing at cello but the way you mix is even more impressive to me. Everything has so much space, and the reverb is always perfect. One if the best cello sounds I could find on yt. Look forward to seeing more vids!
Hats off to you both! That cello is so powerful and when the violin comes on I break down every time. I love this song, but you both played it with so much emotion and love! It's so sad but so heart wrenchingly beautiful!
God has given you a special gift and it was very touching watching you perform Max Richter's stunning piece. May God grant you all that is good my friend. Thanks for such beauty.
I subscribed after hearing the first first 6 notes... there's some souls pouring themselves into a thing of beauty... I could listen to this for hours.. why am I crying?

One of the best for sure

Straight facts
It's humbling to think of artistry capable of this level of amazing.

Arrival ❤️
Wonderful movie
Could possibly never forgot all the emotions this dialogue created 🤐
those lines always shatter my heart into a thousand tiny pieces... I'm sobbing uncontrollably right now...
Thank you for this. I just watched a video where this song was used, and I couldn’t focus on what was being said in the video. I was just so focused on the music. I knew I’d heard it somewhere before, but I couldn’t remember where.
Max Richter would approve 💯
He really would. This is beautiful work!
He truly would.
Truer words have never been said
I concur
He would be proud
I lost my friend 11 years ago. Hearing this song floods me with such grief. My wife told me something so beautiful though.

Thank you. As someone who suffers severe anxiety, it really does help. Your patients are lucky they have you.❤️
Max Richter's Sleep is great for anxiety and helps you sleep.
It's over eight hours long.
idk this one gives me a heart ache... probably the saddest song that comes to my mind.. still beautiful tho, and beautifully played
Seriously? I mean, yeah it's beautiful, but it's the kind of beautiful you serenade yourself with while committing suicide.
I've listened to this masterpiece a hundred times but sit here in tears at this version. Blown away
same

Just leaving a note from a fellow human to call you back to beauty.❤️
This.
I started to cry before even starting to listen because I already knew the wrath of your musical prowess would befall us.
This masterpiece sometimes is unbearable for your soul.
I don't think I've heard any sadder song than this
The beauty of the song is that, yes, it is sad, but it is relatable with love and the beauty of that love, just amazing.
It's one of the most beautiful songs in the world. ❤
@@ModestoFloresGonzález-c9l It's sad ,but then It isn't I cant put my finger on it and I believe this is the case because its beyond words and labels.
This music is not sad to my ears. This is what makes it beautiful; it is unclassifiable.
It's sad but it eases heartaches
This song has been haunting me for years since she's gone
So sorry

Ugh Max Richter. I saw him live for his SLEEP performance and it was the best time of my life. This is beautiful! Amazing work!
Wow you are so lucky
Every time I hear this song I feel a strong sadness. It is incredible how a piece of music can carry so much feelings and passion.
It's 1:30 in France and I discover this masterpiece...

This bitter earth
Well, what fruit it bears
Ooh, this bitter earth
And if my life is like the dust
Ooh, that hides the glow of a rose
What good am I?
Heaven only knows
Lord, this bitter earth
Yes, can be so cold
Today you're young
Too soon, you're old
But while a voice within me cries
I'm sure someone may answer my call
And this bitter earth
Ooh, may not
Oh, be so bitter after all
This bitter earth
Lord, this bitter earth
What good is love
Mm, that no one shares?
And if my life is like the dust
Ooh, that hides the glow of a rose
What good am I? (What good am I?)
Heaven only knows

Великолепно что еще можно сказать , спасибо за прекрасное исполнение любимой пьесы ..🙏🌹💕
ur obviously amazing at cello but the way you mix is even more impressive to me. Everything has so much space, and the reverb is always perfect. One if the best cello sounds I could find on yt. Look forward to seeing more vids!
First video I’ve come across of yours. Subscribed within 30 seconds. The raw emotionality gave me chills.
Hats off to you both! That cello is so powerful and when the violin comes on I break down every time. I love this song, but you both played it with so much emotion and love! It's so sad but so heart wrenchingly beautiful!
Man, your music is full of feelings
God has given you a special gift and it was very touching watching you perform Max Richter's stunning piece. May God grant you all that is good my friend. Thanks for such beauty.
Well done both of you! Very beautiful ❤️
Man I can't put in words how happy I am to see you back
Yayyyy you are back! Love your music :)
I subscribed after hearing the first first 6 notes... there's some souls pouring themselves into a thing of beauty... I could listen to this for hours.. why am I crying?
I love everything about this. Keep it up, King and Queen. I need more of this in my life.
Best piece of music ever written.
