It's kind of crazy to think that back in Splatoon 2, Splatlings had become one of the most mid classes around with very few exceptions. It's really nice to see how far the class has come
Splattlings are in such a good spot right now that I could probably say every single one of them has at least one use where they’re very good at. I’m glad they balanced them really well in this game and just hope they do that for rollers (and brellas) eventually.
I'd argue a large part of that is that chargers other than pencil are not in such a good place right now, with the oneshot chargers out of the meta and bomb spam greatly reduced splatlings have it much easier than they otherwise would.
nautilus could be in a better place I think (I’m not even a spatling player) but yes as a whole it’s a very strong class. I remember one anarchy series rotation where 3 games in a row Nintendo decided to match up my team - all slayers and mid-range supports, against a team with at LEAST 2 splatlings. I lost all of those games lmao 😭
@@gabrielboudjema4076 tbh brella is still broken its just its kit is now good but I wanted to wait a while to see if the buff had actually fixed the main weapon
I only play casually but usually with one of the many splatlings and seeing that so many are ranked highly competitively is really nice. It’s a bit of a shame the mini doesn’t make the cut, I personally love the burst bomb & ultra stamp for speeding in and whooping people. I suppose they can’t all be winners though
Mini missed out on being a lightweight weapon which would've at least given it something to stand out. Plus it's got the highest strafe speed that's compatible with Run Speed Up so it's very fun with cooler.
It's just because stamp isn't in a great spot rn. Mini's a solid main weapon, and burst bomb is its dream pairing, but ultra stamp is extremely easy to counter, and mini wants to be a bit more of a support anyways.
Vanilla Splattershot being at the top of top tier is so funny because it's basically like if Mario in the Standard Kart was the strongest pick in Mario Kart, or Mario being the strongest pick in Smash Bros. @@qwertyqwertperson Perhaps not but he's the first one in the lineup and is supposed to be like the basic all-rounder generic default. And if there was a "main character" it _would_ either be him or Kirby (or both) anyway.

For as much as I see Squeezer talked up in these videos ever since the release of Splatoon 3, its probably the weapon I see the absolute least played of in my games haha
@@guillermocervisalmeron2209It's mostly because of lag when playing solo though. I love playing the Squeezer, but too often you literally cannot hit an opponent even if the opponent is standing right in front of you and not moving while you see and hear them being hit 6 times (which should have splatted them twice!), but not actually being splatted due to large lag (which results in what you see not matching up with the host, who decides what was a hit or not). That's no fun.
This might seem random (can’t wait for pt 2) but I love the Hyrule Warriors music in the background. Age of Calamity is one of my favourite games ever and I hope you use the other champion themes in the next video (Reval-I mean Ravioli and Urbosa’s. Maybe even the Yiga Clan theme)
Naut not being in the convo for best splatling is an oof ;-; But ye looking forward to the next video! Sorella Brella vs Sorella Tent will be a neat discussion
It's more in that the other options fit the style comps want to use more. Naut, Heavy and Hydra all still do well in a mid competitive area and even Mini with its disappointing kits can still be used very well. Splatlings as a whole have never felt this strong in all of Splat gaming.
Naut is another good mention, but its facing harsh competition from squeezer, it prolly could have been worth a mention but bp sees far more use rate generally.
5:29 I will never forgive the devs for making Vanilla Machine fall off, due to their OWN incompetence in making so many stages that made Machine feel ‘too OP’ with its projectile arc 😭 I really do hope they’ll undo the ink consumption nerf one day……
It was never the projectile arc that was the problem, it was and still is Fizzy tbh. Fizzy is so damn mindless and non-interactive, but it gets you special easily without having to risk anything and while having ridiculous uptime for a bomb due to how long the thing lasts, and Machine had the ability to threaten a one-shot off a single chip from a fizzy or chip you down in two large AoE hits after fizzy chip, which just devolves the game into special wars since neither side can actually move up through any space that fizzy can block off. Even after its white frame nerfs and the LDE nerfs, an aggressive weapon like Tri Noveau still will just turn into fizzy spam if it ever loses map control, and you can watch players not actually use the main weapon until they have farmed cooler from way back and the team pulls the trigger for everyone to go. Vanilla machine is still quite good even in its current state, just kind of slow in an age where teams want to play fast comps.
@@celestialspark5697 so it was never about fizzy it was actually the fact that machine could fight really well and keep up with weapons that also play really aggro if machine was never nerf it actually would survive in cooler meta and probably be considered the best but since they nerf the fighting power of the weapon you can no longer play it aggro. fizzy and booyah are the best kit for machine but it was never the kit that is the problem it was the main weapon and that was resolved so its no longer a problem. i do agree about machine still being good i think alot of people including prochara underestimate the weapon now and dont think its any high than A but i still believe its S tier and still viable in this meta of going in and dying to get objective
Machine is still good. The only thing that's holding it back from being the meta again is the aforementioned ink consumption nerf and the more points for special. It's still a great weapon, with a great kit, they just need to fix those two things.
I've been a heavy/hydra splatling main since I started playing competitive in splatoon 2, so it's nice to see the class have such a meteoric rise. You really need to do a video on why Rollers are in the position they're in right now and how to fix them. Nintendo seems to be listening to fan feedback in balance patches, and this class is dying off quickly. This applies to other content creators as well.

That tier list at 6:53 is very slightly out of date and was made right when the season released and should have been labeled as such. The more updated one is at 0:40, but you're right that Nautilus is worth discussing as well as a very strong splatling
Predictions for other kits: Brella: either sorella brella or one of the tentas Wiper: After that burst bomb nerf, probably wiper deco cause of the missiles, even though Splatana is technically stronger. Blaster: I would say range is still the best blaster in the game Brush: vanilla Octobrush or the vanilla ink brush Dualie: vanilla Tetra dualies Stringers: Inkline Tri-stringer (just seems to be much better than the vanilla option)
Honestly even after the nerfs I still think stamper is the best of the splatanas it has good range and damage it just lacks paint and ink consumption but other weapons like n-zap can fix both problems and give more benefits

That tier list at 6:53 is very slightly out of date and was made right when the season released and should have been labeled as such. The more updated one is at 0:40, but you're right that Nautilus is worth discussing as well as a very strong splatling
@@OliyTC oh okay thank you I was a little confused lol
Hard to focus on chara talking due to him playing BANGERS in the background
Splattershot W! My main since Splatoon 1 ❤️
for the squeezer i think the time to kill depend of our speed of tapping
so is definitely better than the splattershot pro
ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW FAR HE THREW THE TACTICOOLER 4:51?????!!!!!
I was scared vBP wasn’t getting #1 Splattling lol
Glad I spent one of my golden tickets on ballpoint and splash-a-matic
Age of calamity ost is so good
As a splattershot main I’m really happy my weapon is the best shooter
After the gold dynamo was added i only have seen one Vanilla Dynamo Roller well Guess the gold one with its kit is just far better now
you forgot to mention the drawback to squeezer,
carpel tunnel
4:23 and fun fact it was the only weapon with autobomb launcher
Can't wait to see the best Brellas :)
*Sobs*
0:04 "and the insane amount of diversity"
SHOWS A QUAD SHOOTER COMP
love the vid tho
what version of the breath of the wild music is that
Predictions for other kits:
Brella: either sorella brella or one of the tentas
Wiper: After that burst bomb nerf, probably wiper deco cause of the missiles, even though Splatana is technically stronger.
Blaster: I would say range is still the best blaster in the game
Brush: vanilla Octobrush or the vanilla ink brush
Dualie: vanilla Tetra dualies
Stringers: Inkline Tri-stringer (just seems to be much better than the vanilla option)
Cant believe chara was split in two live……… rip
What’s wrong with the Hydra Splatling? It’s been my main from the start and hasn’t dropped in amazingness
Hydra is the best weapon end of conversation ❤
It's cool so it's good
I want to think you could make a semi-decent comp with only splatlings.
Chop Chop Octo boy it's been 21 hours
Splatlings are great right now, but us Dualies and Brushes need more love..
I see your pain, I was suffering with Brellas
Honestly even after the nerfs I still think stamper is the best of the splatanas it has good range and damage it just lacks paint and ink consumption but other weapons like n-zap can fix both problems and give more benefits
I feel like the only person in the world who prefers the vanilla tri slosher kit .-.
what weapon class would you recommend for players with dyspraxia?
Tri slosh or any other weapon that doesn’t require aiming
5:32 Slow-sher?
Thumbs up for snipewriter justice! 👍
0:22 KRAKEN PLUSHIE I NEED IT
where is the fixing weapons classes?
