- The Galaxy S23 Ultra screen is cracked, and the body with heavy scratches is completely restored with a new screen and body frame. The restoration is not extremely difficult with a few technical skills; it is doable. The repair difficulty of this restoration is 8 out of 10. The same fix applies to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Plus, and S23.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Screen Replacement

I like the honesty while explaining the battery damage. The battery was likely not changed by Samsung themselves. Why i think this is the higher level of QC after the Note 7 series. Great guide though.
You deserve some sheer recognition and appreciation, sir.
Thank you 🙌🏽. Appreciate the support 👍🏽
How did u find a screen with front cuz if u buy a screen and u place front the hole wont match because adhesive pushes it upwards
Great video, thanks for all the tips and detailed information!

@@ersbit Thank you
I have heard somewhere that once the back glass or display part of the phones having any IP rating is opened, then the IP rating goes away permanently and the phones become seriously vulnerable to water damage. Is it really the case? Would appreciate an answer to this.
Hi, exactly. I did the stubborn and tested the water test after replacing the back glass lol it failed then motherboard failed then permanently damaged.

Wow thank you
I never know that my s23 ultra look like this inside 😂
You're welcome 🙌🏽
thanks for titling this video as screen replacement and then skipping that part
What part?? Let me try to help you understand
Do you want to replace?
1- Glass only
2- Screen Only
3- Screen (screen with frame)
? Depending on the choice the risks of failing is different from 100% success rate all the way to 30%.
@ersbit The video is called screen replacement and you never showed anything about replacing the screen?
Ok what did I replace then?
@@ersbit The rear glass?
Can you replace the body of the phone? I dented my s23 ultra on the corners and I don't know how to fix it.
Changing the body/frame only is extremely risky for the screen. There's a very high chance to damage the screen while trying to separate it from the body of the phone. It's better to get a new body with screen pre-installed and replace your screen. Then you can sell the damaged body and screen to get something back.
If you had used the prefab adhesive strips, would you still use the extra glue?
It depends. Some double sided tape are of very good quality those can be used without adding extra b7000. Even those really good ones should get benefits of adding a very small layer of b7000. If you don't have the glue b7000 you will be fine using the double-sided tape alone. Black double sided tape were the ones with the worst quality they are very thin and will not hold for long.
Thank you very much.
You're welcome 👋🏽
Subbed but it's so weird you have 59k subs yet not a single comment over 7 hours and only 96 views? Very very weird my friend lol
🤣 I don't understand too...only thing I can do is keep uploading good videos until that day. Repairing stuff seem to be less popular than reviewing in general. Thank you for the support and kind words ✌🏽️👍🏽.
The replaced screen will have same quality as the original?
Yes, the screen I used was from another Galaxy S23 Ultra (original screen). There should not be any issues with the new screen (everything will work 100%).
how hot do you need the heat gun
I usually have my heat gun at max power/heat then circle around the back of the phone for 20 seconds then try to lift if it doesn't work I will heat again 20s. If that still doesn't work heat for 30 seconds still while moving around it should be enough.
What’s the name of electric screwdriver
Does it have side effect after replacing the screen?
I'm about to tackle this, just make sure you get some quality adhesive when you put it all back together. Reason being is because it will not be 100% waterproof anymore
ReinstallING everything seems like it's always the hardest. Shame on you for skipping that part. Overall great video tho. Wish I watched this before I was ready to do the job. I have to get the adhesive and clamps. I plan on using b7000 instead of double sided tape for the battery.. is that ok? I don't trust people with my phone so diy is right up my alley. Plus I bought a new screen that has a green dot from ebay for only $100. Idk how much you charge but my guess is $250-$350 for 20 minutes of work.
Even though galaxy phones have maintenance mode. Overall I should be in it for about $123 after buying adhesive and clamps from amazon. Since I already have heat gun and screw drivers from last note 20 screen repair.
Sorry this one did not have that part check this one How to replace the Screen On Samsung S23 Ultra
th-cam.com/video/ovFOVPVqIy4/w-d-xo.html
B7000 and battery is not the best way to do it but if you have to do it it will work and keep the battery in place.
I don't work 😅 I just do these videos because I like phones and repairing stuff. Logically my next step should be having a shop to fix customers phones. I'd have to leave my day job.
I just broke my Ultra 23 screen. Screen replacement stores are asking $350 to fix it. I got the phone for $1300. Don't want to spend anymore money. I'm going to try to sell it for $400 (good refurbished are like $800) and get a used Pixel 8 for $400.
You can trade in with samsung and get the 24 Ultra for like $637
@@donhouston916 my wife already has the ultra 24. I went back to my Pixel 4a and everything is still fine. I don't use many apps and I do like small phones so it's all good. I'll trade in the broken ultra 23 when 25 comes out.
@@jayfloramusic sounds good. I traded in my s23 for the s24 yesterday when it cracked
@@donhouston916 was it a glass crack or lcd? Mine is lcd. I fear that is more expensive to fix than just glass screen so I'll get less tradein value.
Pls do ub screen seperation
I cannot I don't have the equipment for that. You cannot do that with more than 30% success if you try to separate the glass from the screen at home.
Someone please help me out here....I took my Samsung s23 ultra for a screen replacement like this and it came back with not reading the sim card and when I plug it up for charge it shut down and not taken no charge whatsoever...what can be the problem?? I'm so frustrated right now 😫😫
Did a shop fix the phone for you? Or you did it yourself?
If they fixed it for you in a shop it's better to bring the phone back to them as if you try something they can say you have done it wrong and they cannot touch it anymore. If it was done by yourself or a friend there's something that was not done right either a bad connection of the flex cables (most likely if the device before the repair was in normal working condition).
@@ersbit it was done by them and it's the first time I'm repairing it
Ok. The best move is to bring it back to them so that they can fix it. It seems to be very recent so they cannot refuse to take it back as it is not working well.
@ersbit could not connecting the USB port cause a issue of it blanking out or it not reading the sim card? Cause it was working fine until I got it changed
@terryakamadcat no not really. It should not do that. Maybe the charging module was not installed properly or is not sitting right after the repair. The charging module has the sim card and USB-C port on it. Or when you plugged a usb it moved due to improper installation same thing can happen with sin card if you took it out since it the same pcb board.
The fix should be easy (making sure all the cables connected to the charging module are connected all the way and not superficially and also making sure the charging module is installed properly and all the screws were installed. I doubt the charging module is bad since it was fine until you use the charge port and sim card tray.
Why was the battery damaged? It's a fairly new phone. My screen cracked as well, even with the Otterbox Defender case. That indestructible Gorilla glass marketing is pure garbage. This phone is prone to getting dropped because of the weight.
For this one I do not know as I purchased the device to show how to fix it. The battery must have been mishandled by the previous person who opened the device or assembled the phone. That's the only thing I can think of. Hahah no matter what they advertise these screens will break its good for their repair programs business 🤣
@@ersbit For sure! Here's the thing; I've never been a fan of large size smart phones like the ultra because they're more awkward to handle so there is a greater likelihood for dropping the phone. The extra weight doesn't help either. Oh well. $hit happens.
@@ersbit I just had mine replaced and it was quite an ordeal. UbreakitIfix gives priority to those who have insurance, so if you're paying out of pocket expect a long wait. The curved screen design is complete garbage and prone to cracking; no wonder Samsung went with the flat screen design for the S24. Anyone who owns an S23 Ultra should purchase a wallet style case with a magnetic clip so the screen is covered when not in use. Otterbox Defender cases are useless, as are the tempered glass screen protectors.
Sir
How it costs 😁😁
$0. At the end of the video I said how I got the screen. The screen came from my old S23 Ultra that had water damage.
Phone is waterproof again after screen replacmanet?
No. Avoid water I wanted to test and lost my galaxy S23 Ultra here
th-cam.com/video/0T6nbAE72u4/w-d-xo.html
Avoid water unless you are 100% sure it's water resistant by performing a pressure test using a machine.
@ersbit thank you for your reply do you add water resistance adshive?
So this is essentially replacement of the frame also.
Yes. This is the most complete way to do this. As getting only a screen (harder to find) then do the installation on your old frame might not be as good and sealed like getting a frame screen pre-installed. That's why I prefer to show this one as the other one might not always work in the long term.
@@ersbit right, also there is very less probablity that one would be able to replace only the display and without new frame, without damaging the current frame.
@@ersbit In the EU they only sell displays without frame. Samsung stopped selling the display with frame modules
@nonameeee6145 Humm I think you can still find those with frame on eBay or Amazon. I get mine on Amazon or eBay for screen with frame. Some do sell without the frame but as stated it's extra work and might get the screen damaged or not glued properly.
@@nonameeee6145 but why? Display + frame would fetch more money.......
why is the battery expanding this phone came out like 6-8 moths ago can the same happen with my s23ultra?
Not really sure...maybe a bad battery from the beginning.
On the other end the battery looks like it was manipulated pull /preyed then reinstalled with all original Samsung things (pull tabs and new back cover) not really sure what happened here. (I got it online the seller said bad screen cracked glass but good lcd🤷🏽♂️).
@@ersbit thanks 👍
You're welcome 👋🏽
Whats name of that heater machine?
Heat-gun I have link to my current Heat-gun that I am using lately. All Heat-gun even very basic one like the one I used in the video should do the job.
@@ersbit ty a lot
🤣 Also even a Hairdryer can work. I started with a Hairdryer when I did my first videos.
@boliteracku a Hairdryer will take longer to heat
@@ersbit well it will save me 25 euros xd
