You won't have to time travel to get mushrooms in the future! We'll have Kapp'n in the Nov 4th/5th update, the islands he takes us to can be different seasons:)
Which is unfortunate if you think about it. Because as of now, most diys dont need that many of rare or elegant. So its working against you more than everything. And the few recipes that need them you most certainly get that amount and more within the month if you play daily. So imo its not all that helpful. Might be if they become cooking diys in this update.
Actually, the odds of finding a rare mushroom increase significantly if you get your island up to four stars. The odds that one of your mushrooms will be a rare one goes from 1% on a 3-star island or worse to 5% on a 4-star island, then to 10% on a 5-star island.
Can confirm that having a 5 Star Island increases the odds of having Rare Mushrooms near trees. It's why I always try to get my island back to being 5 stars whenever I'm redecorating.

Something you forgot... They also spawn off stumps... (not palms obvi) and they only spawn on days you actually play so if you don't play a few days only one day worth will spawn. Also only about 30 can be spawned before they stop if you don't gather them. and yes Rare mushrooms have a higher spawn chance the higher your town rating... but you only need them for crafting I think one DIY? We will find out if they are needed in the 2.0 update soon tho.
Using the Mario floating blocks to construct your balloon funnel is less of a nuisance, because although it still blocks balloons, you can walk underneath it. Initial cost is high, and you can only buy 5 per day, but it's well worth it.
There are actually 2 rare Mushrooms. In New Leaf, if you chop a tree, and see a stump with a weird pattern, like a TriForce, you will get a Red and White Mushroom, and it's a Mario reference too, so maybe 2 in one. Eating it does something special

Idk. I’ve shot down like 5 balloons a day the past few days and I haven’t gotten one mushroom recipe. I only go the wreath and the wand last year, and nothing new so far this year

I was originally going to make a fantasy island but I decided I wouldn't be so selective on my first, when I get my second one I'm totally going to add mushroom lamps all over the place. (And time travel, because I set my original island to the wrong hemisphere.
Balloons aren't spawning on my island. They were spawning like crazy before I got my slingshot and now they never spawn. And before you say that they spawn the more you play, I've played for 4 hours everyday just to see if one spawns and I haven't seen a single one. Edit: I've found my first balloon in months!!!!
I'll also say the more time you spend outside on your island, the more likely you'll see a balloon so do activities like terraforming, decorating outside, fishing, bug catching, etc.

rare mushrooms have a 1% spawn rate (same as finding a pearl when diving) if u have a 3-star rating or lower, but if u have a 5-star rating, the chance of finding a rare mushroom increases to 5%
The sad thing is I don't wanna time travel or use nookazon to obtain thingz(despite buying an apple) so i have to wait a whole year to obtain more diys
Does the jail bar method still work to its fullest potential? I feel like only balloons that spawn in the lower half of my island are affected by the jail bars. I've actually seen a balloon fly on the other side of the bars. But I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be a leak. I also don't get balloons regularly. Sometimes I don't get a balloon in 30 minutes while other times I get them in about 5 minute intervals. But since almost all tutorials for that method are almost a year old at this point I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong or if they kinda patched it
Wait so is there not a cap for the amount of mushrooms that span each day? I thought the cap was at 5 cause i've only ever gotten 5. But here it sounds like the amount of trees you have influences the amount of mushrooms you get.
@@ceomg I have since checked a few different sources and no you cannot get more than 5 a day it seems. Now if you dont pick any of them and go to the next day there can be 10 total the next day and 15 total the day after and so forth up until 30 max. But more than 5 will not spawn in 1 day no matter how many trees you have.
I think my island is bugged. I'm only getting around 4 or 5 mushrooms a day. Balloons are only spawning once or twice an hour. So far I have not got any of the diy's except the one from isabelle. I've cleared my cache, reset my router to see if it might help but nothing. I had no issues with the acorn diy's. Got those done quickly but ever since november 1st, my island seems broken.
I found a rare mushroom on my island next to the normal types of trees that you see daily of the ones you've shown not the cedar ones, howver u say it or spell it lol.

I noticed that I was getting a lot of rare mushrooms, so I asked Isabelle and found I was at 5 stars 😀

Rare mushroom spawn rate is 1% for 1-3-star islands, 5% for 4-star islands, and 10% for 5-star islands, according to the Companion Guide.

I let my island overgrow regularly... I'm assuming weeds and flowers super affects the amount of mushrooms I can get?
Since they spawn around trees and stumps, you're going to want to keep those areas clear of weeds and flowers. (and fallen branches)
