#1 overall FIVE Star QB Quinn Ewers’ first interview as an Ohio State Buckeye!

- Quinn Ewers was ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the nation in the class of 2022 and was set to become the highest-ranked recruit in the history of Ohio State football, but reclassified and will be on campus as a student at Ohio State this weekend.
In this exclusive interview, Ewers talks to Kirk Barton of BuckeyeScoop.com about his relationship with Ryan Day and Corey Dennis, why he picked the Buckeyes, why he decided to enroll a year early, the story behind his famous endorsement deal, and what he's expecting when he gets to Columbus on Saturday.

I think if Quint takes this yr to learn & then go through the body by Mick & can stay patient we have 2 top 10 picks in that room possibly 3 but someone will be playing at another school. If CJ has a heisman type year he starting again next year. Ryan Day not benching Stroud coming off a big year Ewers best bet is to red shirt and wait his turn.

@@takecareofyrshoes him taking a redshirt doesn’t impact when he’s eligible for the draft. Whether a player is redshirted or not he just has to be three years out of his graduating class. So after junior season, or red shirt sophomore season. If CJ pockets a heisman (no jinx), I can’t see Ewers sitting again, but maybe I’m wrong, hopefully. Guy, started his clock early and got on campus to be playing next year, if not at OSU, I would imagine he be jumpin in the portal. But, maybe Day can keep him settled, satisfied, and happy. Either way I’m sure it will be very interesting to see play out.
@@takecareofyrshoes trust and believe even if he dont red shirt if CJ have a big year he's not getting benched as a junior the year he NFL draft eligible just because Ewers there. Everybody in the building knew Haskins was better then JT Barrett and just like Haskins Ewers going to wait his turn. AT most he will be Stroud backup. Stroud not getting benched coming off a heisman type year if you believe that I got a bridge I want to sell you

you didn’t see fields asking for a redshirt year for his freshman season at georgia. i’m pretty sure he could’ve got one. he played but not much.
What CJ does this year has no bearing on 2022. If Ewers is better in 2022 he will start. Even if CJ wins a Heisman this year. Theres slim to no chance that Ewers sits until 2023
My wish: I hope Quinn is patient and that CJ has an outstanding year, starts again next year, is a high draft pick, and then Quinn takes over his third year in the program and plays two seasons before becoming the #1 draft pick.
You might agree with this too, that it’s highly unlikely that Stroud starts two full seasons and Ewers would want to wait that long in being the primary starter. So best case scenario (hopefully)... Stroud is the starter in ‘21, then Ewers takes over in ‘22 and ‘23, and Stroud is the starter again in ‘24
That would be fantastic. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening. Can’t imagine him staying more than three years, or sitting for two seasons. But, I’m sure it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for his development as a qb.
How about CJ this year, KM next season, then QE.

Will be fun to watch. I assume he will redshirt and then challenge for the job next year. That will be a battle worth watching because I think Stroud and McCord are both very good.
He seems to be developing very well.. Hopefully next year he hit's the 2 spot. Even if we only get Quinn for a year, he has potential to do big things.
… a few takeaways from this.
1. This young man has the world in his hands I pray injuries never touch him
2. He is far more intelligent than people have reported he already talks like a veteran nfl qb and he technically is a senior in high school
3. His mannerisms speak the most to me. “No sir” “yes sir” every response his parents raised him right you can see it I’m so excited for him to be here to be a buckeye let’s go buckeye nation !!!

Kirk, great interview but you gotta break down and buy some better equipment. The quality of audio and video is just not up to standard. What ever you are using must be from the 1990's.
He will be a work in progress. I notice that he has to fix his throwing mechanics. The good news for him is he will get paid this year although he might be red shirted . He has the potential to shine

Prospects for SLC this year are high. Back up QB play expected as usual to be outstanding. dragons return a ton on D, feature an incredible running back who is only a junior. Should make deep playoff run again this year.
Why should he care whos going to replace him? He plays for Ohio State now, thats what hes focused on. This sounds like a question for Southlake Carrolls head coach

Ewers early enrolled because he did not want to risk going 0-3 heads-up against Klubnik, the best QB in Texas. If Ewers is under any pressure, he crumbles. Leadership skills about zero. But he can throw a purty ball if unmolested, if that is all you want.
Buckeye Nation needs to quit playing the Akron's of the football world.

I don't mind repping him to have him take kickoffs in big games/moments. but I agree I wouldn't have him be the primary returner.
when you have a guy that is that explosive, you get him as many touches as possible.
Ted Ginn was our main receiver and kick returner,Olave was a gunner hell Garette Wilson has been our kick returner for 2 years now..That’s how freshmen start out at Ohio State is on special teams where have you been? He’s a football player returning punts is no more dangerous than running towards 6’5 300 pound D-linemen

You are referencing things that hold no precedent to this situation. They didn't have J.K returning punts as a freshman especially when you have 7 fucking top 100 receivers several who will barely crack the rotation or are young and going to be on the back end of the rotation. Have Ballard or Emeka do it. You want those receivers to stay involved and earn playing time right? That's their opportunity when his is a given.
@@ohiostatebuckeyezone6207 they were all wide receivers. Yes there's a difference speed, distance potential for serious injury is greater, on the D-line either player is not up to full speed even if unblocked.
