What I really dig about this one is how you talk to a very new newby....you don’t talk down at all and the points you make although analytical are explained very simply and easy to understand for newby. (Like me) There’s a lot of knowledgeable people in poker....but not a lot people that are good teachers. Well done.
CrushlivePoker you’re very welcome. And I plan on watching your content religiously (not sure why you unfollowed me on insta...but it’s ok. I’ll continue to be a dedicated follower!)
It's nice to watch these and go through a hand like this and think about the simple logic. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in math and overthinking I forget to slow down and consider the more obvious aspects
I would have folded pocket 8s preflop. I never would have put A5 offsuit in her range, but I definitely would put other aces in her range: AA, AK, AQ and maybe AJ in her range, so I would have definitely folded the flop .
It's crazy how advanced new players are these days .i started playing in 2000 this kind of strategy/analysis was almost non existent .i learned from VHS tapes helmuth on holdem and Howard leaderer winning poker video
Same here. I started playing around 2004-05 in HS, when poker blew up. I honestly don't remember any of the terms like 3 bet, range, CO, utg, etc. Being used Even tho I "played" since then, I consider myself a new player. I am fascinated w it all over!
She may have seen how you’ve played other hands and adjusted. When you’re are new your big mistakes (which you’re not fully aware of) will stick out and savvy people will often take unorthodox lines. That being said pre was very weird.
Sometimes, due to your opponents present behavior and/or past tendencies you can bet flopping a full house. Though she just sat down, she could be playing based on her own image. A female friend of mine is loose aggressive and she can get away with betting a big hand after she flops big. I enjoy playing her. Occasionally I regret it! 😵💫😊
Maybe we should of talked more about her actual range (3betting UTG with A5o) instead of a typical range, and how to adjust. Cause this bish is wide pre.
problem is she was unknown and Bart didn't know what she had till the end. over time if you play like the other players are making sense, you make money. or you can be like the caller, and donk off your stack when you shouldn't have been there in the first place.
what about re-raising on the flop to rep an ace? i know it would be risky but it seems unlikely she would have an ace there with two on the board and her big sizing. what does anyone think about this?
B. Alvn That's really player dependent. But end of the day I agree Bart is right, a utg 3 bet pre is super strong at a high enough frequency that anything other than folding is probably -EV.
@@joef4309 I play a lot at this casino. 80% of the players there can't /won't fold a pair hardly EVER. Yes, about 80% of the players are like this - well maybe 70% - they don't know position, strength, etc. And they will lead the nuts. They under bluff and under fold. By huge amounts. And then there are about 15% of players who are really semi pro, and then about 5 - 10% like me in the middle - trying to dodge both ends! Its a fun place to play - and the cash games after can get sick on a good holiday weekend. As for re-raising to rep an Ace, I would be very surprised to see any ace fold, KK, QQ or JJ either... If most players there bet that board - they have and A - or KK /QQ /JJ

This video shows how so-called “range” theorem is a lunatic approach. The poker smartasses even invented terms like “top and bottom of the range”. Lol You read someone’s hand “range” and they tricked you, you’re out of big tournament!! . Then one invents “exploitative play” term to get away with “range” theorem, when his opponent did catch him bluffin because they did not follow his “range” hand. . Then invent “blocker” to justify why he made a wrong call and was kicked out ot tournament. again. Yeah, right. Keep inventing.

I've noticed that too in many of these vids, but particularly here. Great patience and empathy.
I agree. He really broke it down well.
A5s is a GTO 3bet right?
I'm still confused. Was it Taylor or Tyler?
10th president or 12th president?

also 3bet with KK or QQ (maybe even JJ) which still all beat him
“Your name is Taylor or Tyler?”
“Yes”
😂
Sick play. Who’s the newbie now?
Both. Lol. He is really excited about the game. Thumbs up!!
Love this, you can tell the caller wants to be good so bad 😂! Good man Bart!

No one ask or mentions what her chip stack is which also is a huge factor
great work Bart
Bart Simpson

I'd like to see your analysis from the villain's perspective. Switch the roles and how would/should she have played?
Why would you think she would raise her bet while holding a low card like a 5, for sure she has at least a high card such as A K Q J
But anyways.. You make the call...🤣😂🤣😂

Absolutely hilarious that the ultimate fish ended up being the 3 betting Ace 5 off girl.

Isnt an offsite A ok to 3! Occasionally? Especially from CO? It's not like she called anything
