Thanks for the upload. With emulation and front ends these days the average joe can enjoy amiga games once again. What a beast of a machine and what an era of gaming.
@@gomez9325 I think that smaller teams have a higher chance of fulfilling edgy and interesting visions. When 500+ people work on the same game they need too much alignment, and to play it too safe.

Amiga 500 was sooo ahead with dedicated graphics/sounds processing; when you look at the late 80's stuff that ran there it's very impressive considering HW of that time. Also, it's OS was way less buggy than Microsoft soultions of the time. In general it was more interesting on the market since we had many solutions and tech advanced at insane pace unlike today where we have basically a monopoly on OS market and duopoly with CPU/GPU
Too bad Amiga never succeeded in the subsequent generations :( I agree that the near monopolies these days are hampering innovation. It seems people would rather want consolidation than innovation. Every time a new awesome software comes out either Google, Microsoft or Apple buys the company or creates a clone that integrates with their ecosystem, essentially killing off the competition. Recent examples are Whatsapp, Snapchat, and Slack.
I've just pre-ordered the Amiga 500 mini and seeking out some games to add to it. Some great recommendations in your top 10 so thanks for that. A few of my favourites from my childhood not mentioned would include; Theme Park, The Settlers, The Secret of Monkey Island, North and South, Speedball 2, Lemmings and Cannon Fodder. Great memories
Very cool! I wasn't aware they did an Amiga mini, but it make sense as they did it with Commador 64, NES, Sega Megadrive and so on. I am going to check it out :) Hopefully it comes with some good games! I love several of your picks too including North and South and Speedball 2 :)

I remember Turrican 2 being super popular back then, but as a kid I found it kinda chaotic and disturbing, and the levels were so complicated 😂😅
Yes Turrican 2 really made use of the autofire function on some joysticks, and Stunt car racer was brutally tense when your chassis was cracked 90% and you had to do that last lap as smooth as possible! great post!
Great list ! All those games were awesome. I didn't know there was IK+ on Amiga, I played it on C64. I would also include at least one P&C, cause Amiga was heaven for P&C adventures.

Good list and it is nice to see Super Cars 2 get some love, fantastic game. I would have Flashback over Another World and Rainbow Islands ahead of Bubble Bobble. Other great games to be considered are Hired Guns, Lemmings, Speedball 2, The Chaos Engine, Battle Isle, F/A 18 Interceptor, Turrican 2, Cannon Fodder and Pinball Fantasies but as you said, it is hard to pick just 10 games for the Amiga.
Thanks! Yeah, Super Cars 2 is highly underrated, and it is still fun to play. The closest "modern" adaptions of the gameplay is probably the various incarnations of Death Rally that I also enjoyed. I agree that Speedball 2, Lemmings and Turrican 2 also are games worth noting. I am not too familiar with the others you mention, as my brother and I mainly played multiplayer games back then :)
Ha ha, true, it was insanely sturdy. "Joystick smashing" seemed to be a thing back then! I had several friends that had holes in their walls from all the smashing. It, however, does not seem to be a thing anymore. Maybe the youth today is more delicate 😅 Or maybe just smarter.... 🤔🤯

I also love Cannon Fødder, and have played it a lot, but I picked Mega-lo-Mania over it, as they are also kinda similar in being about managing resources. But not so similar :) Great games for sure! ❤️

Sadly I missed out on Mega Lo Mania. A few other I probably would have rated higher: Dune II, Syndicate, Cannon Fodder, The Settlers, Frontier Elite II, Carrier Command, Barbarian, Populous, Speedball, It came from the desert, Monkey Island, Supremacy, F-19 Stealth Fighter, Wings, Batman, Formula One GP, Lemmings, Worms, Eye of the Beholder, Civilization, Pinball Fantasy.
Great selection! I mainly played Monkey Island on PC, else I would have placed it on the list too 😁I don't think I am familiar with M.U.D.S., and then it is even number one!
Lemmings and Rick Dangerous were actually both on my initial list. Both are great games! Lemmings are even living on on the mobile platforms :) I am not familiar with Shufflepuck Cafe, but it sure looks like Air Hockey which I loooove!
To each their own. I think my top 10 would have had representation from Factor 5, Psygnosis, Cinemaware, The Bitmap Brothers, Bullfrog and probably Innerprise software. I just couldn't help but notice there are some big developers that didn't get a game on your list. Then again a top 10 is pretty tight. Thanks for the video.
Of some odd reason I found it claustrophobic back in the days, and I also found the level design confusing. But again, I haven't played the game since I was 8 years-old 🤣🤣 I know it is a classic for many, but as I mostly shared the Amiga with my brother, I also think my list is biased towards multiplayer games :)

Really cool Video 👍 thanx dude !
Thanks, it was good time back then with our Amiga 500s.
Not just 500 games, but games for any Amiga, even an Amiga emulator.
Nostalgia! Et skridt nærmere den autentiske spiloplevelse har jeg taget ved at købe to 'The Arcade' joysticks på Ebay + 9 pins til USB adapters! Yay!
great video, but no Cannon Fodder or Speedball 2?? Thanks for the memories!! :)
Thanks :) I actually had both games on my brutto-list. I picked Sensible Soccer over Speedball 2, as they a have somewhat similar gameplay, despite their different settings. I also love Cannon Fødder, and have played it a lot, but I picked Mega-lo-Mania over it, as they are also kinda similar in being about managing resources. But not so similar :) Great games for sure! ❤️
Great list
So many good memories
Nice list
I would have included Gravity-Force, Nitro, Wings of Fury and Football Manager though. Maybe also Dogs of War, which is one of my favourite top down Shooters😀
We played Wings of fury quite a bit too. It took us sooo long to learn how to land the damn plane again ✈️😂
No disrespect man but you've chosen some I never would of! 😄
Oh my god, so much disrespect! My taste in Amiga 500 games is my everything, and any disagreement will be punished 😈
I would have put Starglider 2, Carrier Command and Elite 2 Frontier in there.
Games is a matter of taste, like I in general do not like horizontal scroll or "ladder" games. Were a lot more than 10 good ones. IK+ and Lotus were the only one of those 10 I played.
Uh, Monkey Island is getting a new sequel this year! I loooove Monkey Island 3,but only played it on PC. Gamers are a matter of taste for sure!
Hmm, no Xenon 2, Millenium 2.2, Slikworm, Shadown of the Beast? Those where my favorites!
*Starts with Lotus music* Instant Win
Here's my personal Top 10:
10) Sensible Soccer
9) Battle Isle
8) The Settlers
7) Worms
6) Lemmings
5) Chaos Engine 2
4) Monkey Island 2
3) Monkey Island 1
2) Turrican 2
1) M U.D.S
Great selection! I mainly played Monkey Island on PC, else I would have placed it on the list too 😁I don't think I am familiar with M.U.D.S., and then it is even number one!
Great choices for a Top 10. I'd include Rick Dangerous, Shufflepuck Cafe, and Lemmings.
Lemmings and Rick Dangerous were actually both on my initial list. Both are great games! Lemmings are even living on on the mobile platforms :) I am not familiar with Shufflepuck Cafe, but it sure looks like Air Hockey which I loooove!
Password for the Fog Level in Lotus Turbo 2: Pea Soup :D
Ha ha, remembering the important stuff! :)
I never actually had an Amiga let alone any chance to play any of it's games.
It is never too late to get started with the Amiga :)
@@TheEbbemonster Too bad my work requires me to go to various places making it harder for me to search and play with it.
@@kirbymarchbarcena You just need an emulator for your phone ;)
Cannon Fodder is No. 1 for me.
A great game for sure!
Pump you up
Get to da choppa
Its not a tumor
It could be a tumor - No it’s not a tuma
Get ya ass to Mars
Good game but where are:Kick off 2,Dragon's lair,Switchblade,James pond 2 (Robocod),monkey island,prince of Persia,Panza kickboxing...
I would of added Speedball 2, Super stunt car racer, Xenon 2, Godz, Lemmings 2, kick off 2
I wanna play CLOWN O MANIA AGAIN !!!!
Moonstone, fuck yeah, supercars 2 , I came...
@@thechurchofsupersampling ha ha 🤣😂🍆💦
Are you from Austria?
Nope, Denmark :) Many Americans think I sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I suspect you do the same? 😂
Try death rally! It’s pretty awesome like super cars! Subbed.
I love Death Rally, but I only played it on PC :) So much fun!
Mega Lo Mania was awesome
It still is :)
From those games, only Moonstone would be on my list.
I suspect you are more of a fantasy guy? 😊
#1 for me was Wayne Gretzky Hockey.
No Monkey Island!!!?? No Beast or Gods or Xenon??? Mmmmmhhh...
Cam on.. do it, play these games... do it now...
Uhyggeligt mange timer!
The yoooung arnoood Schwazenegger is comenting the ooooddd gaames. Grrrreat
Every minute you don't tell us why you are here, I cut off a finger
Damn, I've been sleeping the last three hours, and now it is too late 😴😔
Booble Bobble 🤣
and Project X, Turrican II and Goal! ????
Haha, did that final game destroy a friendship for you? You warned about that thing twice!
Yep! 😁 My brother and I have been pissed at each other tons of times over that game as we are both bad losers and ever worse losers 😂😜
Nah
What was the name of the navy game in the intro
If you mean the game with the helicopter then it is Swiv 1 or 2.
@@TheEbbemonster canon fodder 🙂
Never heard of booble bobble. Is that that adult version?
The choppa is gonna blow get douuuwn
Maybe I will give you good pizza, or maybe I will break off your arm 😉
Ruff n tumble?
Cuál es la película que se ve en la parte de another world?
Good vid. What about dragons lair tho ?
I never played it, but it is definitely among the best looking games for its time.
Cannon fodder Is my Number 1
No Shadow of the Beast ? No Hybris ? No Xenon ? No Battle Squadron ? No Dragon's lair ? come on man 🤪
Hey man,no turrican2? I agree with most of your other choices but T2 is easily the best game on the A500.
Kick off II? Shadow of the beast?? Turrican?
