When you were describing Strange the Dreamer I was getting MAJOR Atlantis vibes, like the animated movie (super underrated in my opinion). Like Milo works in a museum and he's the only one who believes that Atlantis exists and so they guy sends a bunch of people down to find it and he goes and I'm now going to pick it up and read it
These books sound fantastic!! 💙I loved the characters of Tower of Dawn and just the book overall! I also cared about them much more than Aelin and Rowan😂 I also loved The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue!! You should definitely read the sequel, The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy following Felicity! It’s sooo amazing! It has a Black Hijabi pirate character who I love as well as an estranged friend and really delves into the theme of women supporting each other and it’s fantastic!💗
For most unique world, I have to say the Seraphina duology by Rachel Hartman. It had the coolest and most interesting dragons I have ever read about, and the cultures of each country are explored in depth, especially in the second book, Shadow Scale. But it never feels like an info dump, the world building is just seamlessly integrated into the story. It’s AMAZING!!
Every time this video goes up I have the urge to film this exact tag. I've never done it but maybe 3rd years the charm! The Last Magician sounds bad ass I'll definitely be checking that out!
It would be great if you could add one of the Oscar's sound categories and choose your favorite audiobook or something like that. Actually, TOWER OF DOWN is not just a side story, Sarah has said that it's tog 6 and you do need to read it or you will miss pretty important information. Also, even though it's dubbed as Chaol's story , it is not just his story it's Yrene and Nesryn's as well.
Rosie Potter Yes! It happens at the very beginning of the book so I was hoping it would be addressed later on to show her growing and having character development by not feeling this way anymore and admitting she was wrong but no. :(
I can't help it, but I kind of hated Lila.... I really wanted to like her and normally I love strong and confident female characters but I did not find her likable.. like at all. She was just arrogant and annoying in my opinion..
Meka YES I also found her annoying. I usually stay away from books that have "strong/badass female characters" because generally they're really just that and nothing else. It often turns into a caricature. You can be strong without having to say it every 2 seconds haha. I wish "badass" female characters could be a bit more complex. There are so many ways in which a woman can be badass, you don't need to be just "strong".
I’m currently reading Invasion of the Tearling, and this is probably an unpopular opinion, but while I love the story itself I cannot *stand* Kelsea. She’s just so holier than thou and judgmental to me. I wasn’t planning on finishing the series because of this, but now I might after hearing how much you loved the final book!
Moondance I did not like Kelsea in the first book and the second book. However, I was surprised that I started rooting for her in the third book. I advise you to read the last book with caution. The fandom has been divided with their opinion regarding the ending but I certainly loved it. :)
Paula Micah Quezon I’m almost halfway through the 2nd book and so far I’m liking her less and less lol. I just really don’t like her. I would love for that to change though because it’d make the story a lot more enjoyable for me! It’s kind of hard to look past your annoyance when you can’t stand the main character. I think I might go ahead and finish the series though, just to see how it all ends. 😊
