Agree 100% | sukar sweet voice | her knowledge on moviemaking and technical bg is impressive, but i noticed some actresses use dance techniques associated closely with local and devotional tradition, those skills not only shows professionalism of the artist but personal engagement. I've noticed it in Amman movies and other south indian productions. All those sarees, makeups and mudras used by Meena garu, as well as Roja garu and Ramya garu made those appearances LEGENDARY imo, maybe not classical bharatanatyam BUT...
There is one remarkable dance scene in Nenjangal movie after when Baby Meena is taken from home. Smita garu performs amazing dance to Kuthuna Kuththu song, and I would say it was like seeing Meena in her later productions, but it was 1982. Like there is some kind of craft, oral traditions, passed from generation of dancers to younger generations. Rarely can spot it in modern Kolly, Bolly Mollywood and other production studios in India, maybe it's just decadence or lack of interest of producer$.
