My Idea and hope for Classic+ is Vanilla WoW but pushed to and past the original ideas that the WoW team had for the game when they first started. All the ideas, zones, quests, class potential (aka Shaman Tanks, Glad Warriors, Paladin Light Casters, Mage Healers/Caster Enhancers (Time Mages)) Class Story lines that those Main Characters that reside in wow teach us the ways of our class (aka Thrall - Shamans, Jaina - Mages, Rexxar or Voljin - Hunters, Xavius - Warlocks, Garona or VanCleef - Rogues, Hamuul Runetotem or Malfurion - Druids, Alonus or Benedictus - Priests, Anduin Lothar or Cairne Bloodhoof - Warriors, Uther the Lightbringer or Aponi Brightmane - Paladin's ) have us be the students and have the masters teach out the ways of our class rather then just us heading to a class trainer and spend some gold. Keep LFR and LFG auto-form out of the game, if you want to have a frame that keeps chat clean and formated to look for a group is Ok but no retail LFG/R auto-forming system. Send us to the zones we heard so much about and see on the map but cant reach, connecting the Timbermaw and Dwarf Tunnels. Complete the raids and dungeons that were meant to be there from the start and have them include the story lines they were meant to fill. Improve the travel systems but not with flying, maybe giving alliance a nicer travel system maybe more ship routes or gnomish trams to more then 2 locations. For Horde maybe more zeppelins routes, or even ship routes (org shipyard outside the city). I'm fine with the UI system staying the way it is but I use addons to get the look that I want and work well with. Keep the leveling grind as it is, keep the journey or story a major part of the leveling experience. New Factions and rewards if they fit the original idea. Maybe give the same attention to Professions as the classes would be getting, story wise, give players a quest or story line (Reason behind) to new crafted or gathering items. Include lore known or unknown "characters" to teach us the ways of the craft. I have so many hopes and dreams for Classic+ and not everyone will agree with what I'm hoping for but to lessen the long winded opinion haha, I want the Game that Blizzard had first intended it to be, but due to time and resources could not complete.
I mentioned in the last one that I am here for the Classic + content; a passion project that I have been making notes and posts about loooong before Classic even came out. I appreciate the discussion and opinions and there is so much to talk about but here are my thoughts on your first question of what is a Classic +. To me Classic + is a game mode focused on exploration of the open world and the lore of places introduced in the Warcraft game series through non-linear game events (quests). What it is : - An open world with zones you can go to in any order. If it is too dangerous because to content level you suffer the consequences. - Filled with a variety of quest styles, some sequential, some non linear, some class/faction specific. - Filled with references to characters and events from the first, second and third wars. - A game that remembers that you are just an adventurer in a world where Arthas and Jania live NOT their best friends. - A game that remembers the quests you do a long the way to the end ARE the game instead of quests you have to do to get to the game.
I'm hoping they just hire on the TurtleWow team, cuz those guys have it figured out. Lower XP gain by 25%, add in quests to existing zones to enrich the story and create class identity, and add in new zones for leveling (Gilneas, Kul'Tiras, etc.) with new quests to further the existing storylines. Add new playable races for each faction. Make minor adjustments to make all classes viable (i.e. fix ret, spriest, and boomkin). And add in new max level zones with new dungeons and/or raids with at least one new raid released as part of the first 60 raiding patch. One overlooked thing that would massively improve the game would be active moderation and the return of in-game GMs to limit botting, ban goldbuyers, and assist players in a timely manner. But we know Blizz won't do this because it would impact the bottom line...

Maybe something a little less flashy when you get one. A simple sound notification like quest accept or quest complete, a minimalist dialogue box pops up like right below the mini map. And they’re stored in a simple interface accessible from the system menu. Kinda like the addon interface
Hell no. Whats the point of achievements??? U get dopamine rush??? That has nothing with classic feeling. And its a dumb system. If u gona play game play it i dont need gratification if i do something
@@josipmarasovic2436 only thing I like about it is the titles from mundane or obscure tasks. Seeker, Explorer etc along with the rep faction titles for exhaulted. The rest can be dropped as excessive or at least get rid of the points aspect of it.

They could make dungeons out of most raid locations listed too. I even have an idea of a tower capture battleground working like Eastern Plaguelands but timed waves of Scarlet Crusade forces show up when it’s neutral and tougher scourge when it’s captured. Endless possiblity!
My biggest desires for Classic + are definitely the following. 1. No GDKP at all 2. Achievements, but maybe with a smaller pop up than that in wrath. 3. No level banding or minimal level banding.
Do you mean having level caps at 25, 40, 50 etc? I saw this complaint in another podcast too. As a person that made a pro-multiple level cap post on reddit a few years ago after they had it in Season of Mastery I am trying to figure out the major complaint. As a fan of horizontal game play, I felt this encouraged exploration instead of the normal rush to 60 which is bad for the game because if favors non healthy play styles and discourages ppl with families and have less time to continue playing once the majority of the player base has out paced them. I even felt these linear breaks would be a good spot for new zone content.
@@j.j.herrick6871 I think one break is good, infact, better than, just rushing to 60. Maybe closer to 40 , or maybe 35. I do think the amount of time SoD took with said level brackets was a big factor. Between P1, P2, and P3, we seen every phase have less, and less people. More people not wanting to put time into alts, thinking the content was too hard or too easy. Getting bored. I think the sentiment being that, this isn't endgame so what do i care. I think, personally, having one level bracket, that lasts maybe around 3-4 weeks, would be really healthy. Then afterwards, when 60 is unlocked, give it another 2 weeks before raids are unlocked. Specifically, i think not allowing players to even hit 60 for 224 days, of whom many said they wouldn't touch sod until they could hit 60 and do real endgame content, might not be the best play.
@@Komondude I wonder if the level banding wasn’t the issue as much as the implementation. Its possible that when the caps were reached they didn’t have enough to do and a lot of players were just waiting around instead of exploring. Being hostage to end gamers isn’t a fantastic idea considering something like only 5% ever participate in end game raids. Retail is filled with end game content for those people altho it would be interesting to see if they could find a way in classic + to get way more people participating in those end game game options.
Classic+ is the dream but everyones dream differs. For me it's: Completion/addition of all areas added in Cata but with classic storyline. Maybe even Northrend with eventually Zandalar & Kul Tiras. Zero systems that remove player socialization. That is a redline for anything classic. Darkmoon fair & festival content. Professions update to be relevant at the levels you can farm the mats needed. Addition of gem cutting, inscription along with brand new lumberjacking & woodworking. Improvements to first aid & other secondary professions. More class & race fantasy with plenty of potential race specific classes. Bare bones achievement system to acquire titles for exploration, quest completition, exhaulted with X faction. Transmog & reforging. Summoning stones at instances. Better connections between cities.
#nochanges was the single thing that stunted 2019 classic's growth. It's the reason we ended up having alliance/horde servers. Also the character boost/token in TBC was the nail in the coffin. A simple QOL they could add for classic+ is making meeting stones, summoning stones.
Only real beef I have is at one point (and I'm still watching through) you reference the game as a 'content creator'. Whilst I love your content, I think viewing it from a "well as a gamer it's awesome, as a content creator it's meh" is unfair, as content creators are a small percentage of the player base. We need a classic+ that is good for the mass majority who doesn't have the platform you guys do. Again, love the podcast, love the idea of classic+, but want the devs to understand the majority of the playerbase don't have unlimited hours to play the game. Love everything you do Ebonhardt, keep up the good work. I'll be here for the podcast for sure!
I dont even know if theyll do classic+ at this point. They would actually have to put alot of time and resources into it. They would have to make new zones, quests, dungeons, and raids into the game. Obviously its not easy to add onto the base classic world because they havent added any terrain at all into SOD, it might not be possible without revamping the entire world.
@MetaMan69 people sh!t on anything blizzard releases, they're probably reluctant to spend that much money on the project. SOD should have been classic+ and in their eyes maybe it is.
main things i want in classic plus, Blood elves, Draenai, Demon hunters, Death Knights. All exist in the world of vanilla just not introduced yet ;D theres literally Death Knight bosses in nax, a demon hunter in nagrand from tbc, Blood elves exist theyre just hiding and the draenai gotta land that damn ship
I really hope they have level brackets again like sod. If not, everyone will just rush to 60 and it will just all be about endgame. Anyway love the discussion boys
I would love to see classic plus do a what if scenario going forward and what I mean by that is what would happen if the dark portal never reopened and instead of TBC where would the story go? They have so much unused content I think it would be cool and lead to longevity in the long run!
sod isnt for classic brain rot players is what it is its i think its gonna be retail ight with classic flavor meant for players that just wanna play wow with just a sub/low barrier to entry
tbh, what classic + means or even is for most ppl, is already covered/beholdable by turtle wow and ascension. i know u guys dont wanna speak openly about p servers cuz muhhh, losing my money, but there is already pretty good examples
Classic + for me, should be just a version where bots can't farm, also, every glitch should be fixed. They can add a little captcha like, in Dofus : Sometimes a NPC fight you and you have to do some movement to beat the captcha and prove you're not a bot. If you're not be able to do the right moves ( it could be : use some class spells in a order), then you're ban for 1 day. And the next time you try to farm, you have 100% chance to make spawn the bot. The ban is cumulable
SoD is on course for "C+" for me. I can't believe there are people who dislike runes, I personally was wishing there would be more runes in p4, I thought level 60 was when they were really going to unleash the crazy runes. One thing that is currently inhibiting the flow of content and the fun of the game is - both the devs and community's obsession with hyperbalance, the game is about consumables, engineering, and engaging at the opportune time, not every class needs to feel fair vs every other class - this is not true to classic at all (see:warrior vs mage) Furthermore, where is the data all the people complaining about "xyz is too OP in pvp" coming from? STV? AV? Lol it seems like a poor use of time to attempt to balance classes with pvp with an all time low levels of engagement and coming from these chaotic large scale environments with pve mixed in. Create something that lends itself to small scale 1v1 or 2v2 scenarios and that is the data that we should be analyzing for making pvp adjustments. I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt that nobody is calling for class changes based on a 226 resistance raid, an incredibly niche scenario and a terrible metric for balancing classes, at this time the only discussion should be pvp. Which leads to the bigger issue: there's no endgame except for farming prebis and doing molten core, the game really needs some sort of prestigious PVP activity to act as a counterpart to the heat system. Im currently looking into other games to play on the side, def wont be playing anything blizzard while I wait as I view content droughts coinciding with other blizzard releases, such as cata in phase 3 and now with the war within, as a form of extortion and a slap in the face to someone who already pays blizzard monthly to support a game I enjoy. If money is the issue, just add a cash shop, I think a lot of us are expecting a lot more out of SOD than what has been delivered, I love sod and its team and I hate to say that but that's where we are.
They gave us TONS of class quests with runes. It's just that it was too much. I think the dev team learned a lot on how to do class quests correctly from SoD, or at least one way to NOT do it.
Could Classic+ be the version of WoW that finally comes to consoles? Just a random thought. I'm not much of a PC player anymore due to life/family so the idea has always been interesting. Hell, I'll play it either way though when the day comes
For the last question. There should be a shop but the things that are offered should not be intermingled with the things that can be earned and offer no player power.
I have an important question, if TBC season of discovery does come, will we the players still play classic era before playing TBC? Or will it be like it used to years age, forcing players to play the next expansion whether they like it or not, even if they finish their quests?
Imagine working at blizzard for decades and quitting because you didnt like the direction it was heading then finding out classic+ is coming and all.your dreams are being realized without you
Whatever kind of changes and things they add to classic+ i think its rly important to keep the ADVENTURE vibe classic has and NOT making us GODS.. Just a few tweaks to classes (pala tank/ret-boomie-sham tank viability etc) and otherwise only new content rly. Perhaps when making the new zones like Gilneas/Hyjal and allow us to quest there and get lvl 65 and make new raids, but still keepin it classic gameplay ability and health/mana wise.
More class quests! If they add abilities make you have a nice long solid storyline class quest. Like the shadowflame sword in SoD. Why in all things did they not add even a slight questline to this? Bene and rok get epic quest lines. We just make a sword. /yawn Make classes have epic individual class lines in my opinion
I want a new race and class I can level up to 60 in Vanilla in totally new zones I haven't played before with new dungeons. And new quests in the old zones. :)
Cutscences are byproduct of Solo games. They have no place in an MMO. When you introduce cutscenes the game direction leads you to this set path. Rather than the player choosing their own path of fun in an world that feels alive. War Efforts and Scarab Lord did it right; dialog that is presented to everyone who is there.
I just want them to add more content to Vanilla, but they shouldn't ever increase the level cap. As long as they don't do that they really can't mess it up.
Steal from D3/4 the Ultimate skill, add that as a hero class to unlock an ultimate ability. Epic quest line to unlock 1/3 hero class based on the skill trees.
lets face the reality sod its 100000 time better then classic classic beside the story and the discovery and the ambient was trash in the gameplay department we need the same feeling with balance and nice gameplay thats all that classic plus should be
There is balance even in classic but most people dont understand like for example in pvp u have counter to every claas thats what is called balance. This thing about every class needs to be balance to point that u can easy kill every1 is no fun its just gona come to all classes feel same. And again no1 is mentioning pvp. U cant have a lot of players if there is no pvp
@@Neotidus i play from classic i think you just live in the past i know change hurts but doing mc in 20 warrior on 40 people to maximasize its kinda trash
@@Faffo90 yeah, I’m living in the past. This is the old game. The changes are in retail. 20 warriors is the choice of your guild. We had about 7. Can clear everything just fine. Once again sounds like you should play retail. If I wanted change I’d play retail.
also i really think the classic team should maybe humble up a little bit.. and perhaps reach out to chris metzen and ask for a little bit of advice on what he thinks they should do.
HelloTJello is WRONG about just about everything that makes Classic Classic. It’s about the world, not the player, it’s about the long slow steady story…. He wants retail injected into Classic so hard it’s nearly unbearable to listen to
Thats what I thought was the best plan but SoD changed my mind. I think they have been carefully running live testing of lassic+ via Classic-SoM-Sod-HC.
Look, if they try to “re-design” classic wow it’s going To suck. They need to fix it and add content not totally change classic wow. Fix the deal breakers kill the bots 🤖 , keep the original game. Give taunt to paladins and fix the broken classes. No resilience , no flying mounts , don’t change the master piece. Make it slightly harder keep the long level grind. I can tell you guys never played classic wow back in 2004 I spent my life on it.
What are you talking about. Classic + will be SOD on not testing backgrounds that’s it. Prepare yourself to play SOD on static realms . That it !!! And SOD is retail in vanilla environment . So GL 😂
Again u dont talk about pvp. To have healthy wow u need to have pvp since its 50% of game. No achivements and rest of bullshit barber shop like come on are we playing with our dolls and we little girls. And classes should all be diffrent and i mean as there where in classic. Tanks should be paly, war, druid and shamy. Mages dont need to heal as shouldnt locks. Disable addons totaly and bring back GM and lot of them. This is whats classic should be about. Fix fly paths rework like 70% of guests and change mechanics in raids and add like 2 big raids and 2 small ones. And raid is for 40 people not 20 that is small raid. Whole point is that boss is so hard u need 40 people and not make 15 mechanics, what should define hard is how much people u need. My 2 cents i know like 80% dont agree but if u want classic + and not retail - keep it simple

My biggest desires for Classic + are definitely the following.
1. No GDKP at all
For me it's:
Completion/addition of all areas added in Cata but with classic storyline.
Better connections between cities.
oh shit. the 2 best sod streamers with opinions meeting up. sod is dead but excited to listen
Classic also needs an ingame shop. I would absolutly love it. mounts and pets awesome
The last boss of black wing lair is the black wing chair. No hiding behind the throne.
Subbed! Haha
main things i want in classic plus, Blood elves, Draenai, Demon hunters, Death Knights. All exist in the world of vanilla just not introduced yet ;D theres literally Death Knight bosses in nax, a demon hunter in nagrand from tbc, Blood elves exist theyre just hiding and the draenai gotta land that damn ship
No
I really hope they have level brackets again like sod. If not, everyone will just rush to 60 and it will just all be about endgame. Anyway love the discussion boys
subscribed 👍🏻
I would love to see classic plus do a what if scenario going forward and what I mean by that is what would happen if the dark portal never reopened and instead of TBC where would the story go? They have so much unused content I think it would be cool and lead to longevity in the long run!
The way locks need to collect souls and components to get runes , they could make it, like that to get new spells
Ebonhardt talk about Warcraft Direct, happening in november.
sod isnt for classic brain rot players is what it is its i think its gonna be retail ight with classic flavor meant for players that just wanna play wow with just a sub/low barrier to entry
tbh, what classic + means or even is for most ppl, is already covered/beholdable by turtle wow and ascension.
i know u guys dont wanna speak openly about p servers cuz muhhh, losing my money, but there is already pretty good examples
One thing that is currently inhibiting the flow of content and the fun of the game is - both the devs and community's obsession with hyperbalance, the game is about consumables, engineering, and engaging at the opportune time, not every class needs to feel fair vs every other class - this is not true to classic at all (see:warrior vs mage)
Furthermore, where is the data all the people complaining about "xyz is too OP in pvp" coming from? STV?
Sounds like retail is more for you. Runes… might as well play retail. They have the PVP you need there too.
I hope they make the proffesions more worthwhile.
For the last question. There should be a shop but the things that are offered should not be intermingled with the things that can be earned and offer no player power.
Should be things like dual spec and repair bots
/yawn
Make classes have epic individual class lines in my opinion
Would classic+ be a new thing, or with current characters?
Like would it start over at vanilla? Sorry i don't play currently
1st- Meshed
I want a new race and class I can level up to 60 in Vanilla in totally new zones I haven't played before with new dungeons. And new quests in the old zones. :)
Wow reborn😂
Cutscences are byproduct of Solo games. They have no place in an MMO. When you introduce cutscenes the game direction leads you to this set path. Rather than the player choosing their own path of fun in an world that feels alive.
War Efforts and Scarab Lord did it right; dialog that is presented to everyone who is there.
I just want them to add more content to Vanilla, but they shouldn't ever increase the level cap. As long as they don't do that they really can't mess it up.
One big QoL is the undermine reals it was never so rewarding doing dungeons and getting late game mats
My guess they are going to take sod into new content then tbc with a soft reset and a new vanilla fresh around that time
Please keep prot pally good like in SOD it’s so much fun.
They need to go crazy with Easter eggs, that are difficult.
Also stop the data mining and get it back to people discovering things.
More flight paths, 15 min hearthstone timer
Steal from D3/4 the Ultimate skill, add that as a hero class to unlock an ultimate ability.
Epic quest line to unlock 1/3 hero class based on the skill trees.
99 level cap like d2
lets face the reality sod its 100000 time better then classic classic beside the story and the discovery and the ambient was trash in the gameplay department we need the same feeling with balance and nice gameplay thats all that classic plus should be
Sounds like retail is more for you. You need to stay far away from classic
@@josipmarasovic2436 yea like doing 0 as an hunter in pve or doing half of the fight with a wand as a mage a lot of balance bro
He wants retail injected into Classic so hard it’s nearly unbearable to listen to
Just restart classic. Vanilla, TBC, and Wrath. Rinse and repeat every 5 years. I don’t trust blizzard to make a good classic +.
Thats what I thought was the best plan but SoD changed my mind. I think they have been carefully running live testing of lassic+ via Classic-SoM-Sod-HC.
@@arkomblago2222 you’re probably right
Not gonna lie after coming back a bunch of times for flavor of the week vanilla I’m not coming back again sod was disappointing
like they couldnt ruin phase 2 and 3 that destroyed sod
Ngl im kinda done with classic leveling. Everyone just gets boosts. Even you, what’s the point of it.
classic + is no changes only additions no flying mounts ever and no transmog. lvl cap 60 with horizontal progess
Look, if they try to “re-design” classic wow it’s going
To suck.
