    In case you came to look for it, the defaults are F06 for speed and F7D for the tempo.

    I don't understand the difference between the speed command and the tempo (BPM)... Can someone explain it?

    • @waspamiga
      @waspamiga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      F01-F1F defines how many ticks every track in one row has. I did an episode about ticks after this series to explain that further.
      This tick speed also changes the speed of the pattern, but the bpm will be unchanged.
      F20-FFF defines the bpm without changing the amount of ticks on every row.
      To acheive a correct bpm, you need to go in tick speed F03, F06 or F0C. I.e. tick speeds in multiples of 3.

    How does speed change tempo?
    For instance if I have
    TEMPO FF 255
    How can I adjust Tempo to 300?

    how do you remove a letter that plays a sample?

    • @waspamiga

      Put the cursor/square on the note and hit "delete" (shift-backspace on mac). Make sure you're in edit mode (mouse pointer is blue, toggled with the space-bar).

    This is great stuff. One small question though: what's the most common method of inserting blank spaces between the notes? In this tutorial it looks like you're doing it by hand, but the subsequent Rage Against the Machine homage you play it fast enough that it should be one continuous stream, and yet there's one empty row between each note. How do I do that?

    • @waspamiga
      @waspamiga  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I'm not really sure what sequence you're referring to, but to edit every second row, use ctrl+2. This is called Edit Skip and will work with 3, 4, 5 and so on as well. I hope this helped! Yet another reason for me to do that "most commonly used hotkeys" episode I guess. :)

      That is amazing. Thank you so much. And I was mainly talking about the one in Chapter 2. You are an intimidatingly quick keyboard player for someone just belting out things by ear. :)

    • @waspamiga
      @waspamiga  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, yeah that one is actually made with arrow down every other row, but it might have been easier to use edit skip. :)

    Using the tempo command to make it sound 'funky' is not a good idea, instead use the note delay.

    • @waspamiga
      @waspamiga  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just bare in mind only the notes with the note delay command will be affected. If you put an EDx command on the drum notes only, all other notes will be on tick zero.

      @@waspamiga True but it's not always needed when notes on other tracks are just on odd line numbers.
      Would be great if the tracker had a global 'shuffle/groove' option though.

      @@bloodmapeditmodplug tracker does have shuffle/swing which basically does this in my experience
