In this video we visited the Famous Dosa Man in New York, the place was packed with locals and his Dosa's were really good too.
Thiru Kumar, AKA the Dosa Man, has been running NY Dosas. Better known as the Dosa Man, Kumar has been selling inexpensive street eats since 2001 in a food cart in Greenwich Village's Washington Square Park. His Food Cart Serves Up The Best Dosas In NYC, and are made from fermented rice and lentils, and stuffed with potatoes, vegetables and spicy sauces-have become an international phenomenon. He grew up in Sri Lanka and learned to make South Indian recipes as a child. After he immigrated to the United States, he made it his life's work to sell affordable, fresh and vegan dosas.

I heared about his generosity & affection on the students from India who unaffordable to meet out their expenditure for food by giving them at free of cost to some extent and offering them to pay when they are good enough to bear for some of them. This is a priceless charity in other nation i.e out side India.

He was a professional Motor cycle racer in Sri Lanka participating in competitions. He won the Lottery Visa to come to USA twenty six years ago. Accidentally came across this video! I am from Chennai but living in Singapore. So happy to watch the video and the feeling was as if we were there... Right from beginning the video was full of energy... hats off to you sister! I miss the people back at home so badly just bcos we have such wonderful people who always think of others than self! That’s our True Indian spiritual culture and somehow the minds have changed due to modernisation and become more selfish... I also think God is great as I felt like watching some script created by God to show the kindness in the people and it was so spontaneously shown in this video by giving the food for the homeless losing his food!!! சொல்வதற்கு வார்தைகள் இல்லை அதை உணரதான் முடியும்!
Even the dosa man’s attitude towards his work and his customers was so much adorable... his kindness in his language, thoughts for the kids in asking about whether want spicy or not... as you say “chance illa”... wonderful wonderful my wishes and prayers that god bless the whole family and the humble dosa man that keep serving food to the community!

Most of them work in tea estates and house maids. He is a pure Srilankan Tamil from Jaffna, Sri Lanka. And moved to USA after won the Green card lottery. Most of the Srilankans moved to America by this system. And you know Thosai/ dosa is one of our( Srilankan Tamils) traditional food too. He uses the word" south indian " because people will easily recognize the food.
Just say malayaga tamils. you guys are 4 generations in Srilanka. Just cause your great grandparents came from India doesn't mean your Indian your just of recent Indian origin. Be proud to be malayaga tamil. I'm of Ethnic Tamil origin and I consider Malayaga Tamils hardworking.
@@ramsiramsika9521 there are still some rich malayaga Tamils like businessmen in Colombo. Also, I know many Malayaga Tamils who came to Canada. Now many upcountry Tamils are becoming educated.
