    • Video # 2 Comet CHA-25...
This video is an introduction to a new HF Vertical from Comet. The HD series has a smaller whip in the end to reduce wind drag over the CHA-250B and CHA-250HDII - This is the 1st video in a series of the project - next video I will install in place of mt existing CP610 for 6 and 10M. The SWR curve looks exciting from the brochure and I will be installing new LMR 400 50 section of Coax from DX Engineering more details to come 73
    This antenna can cover 80, 40, 60, 20, 17, 15, 10 and 6

Just bought one. I use the 25' Cha Porta mast and go portable with it. Everything fits broken down in the back of my pickup. I fit it to the top of the mast on the ground and lift it into the porta mast hitch mount, get in the back of the pickup, and elevate it.

      Comet CHA-250HD Performance Max Take Angle / -3dB Lobe Intersection / + 3dB Band Width 10/35 Feet

Dummy load on a stick with cooling fins added nice touch.
Actually a traveling wave antenna but a poor example since the radiation element is fairly small unlike its distant cousin the mighty 1200 foot rombic who also use a termination resistor although the good ones had a tune network. Also in the family are receiving beverages coming in at 800 feet and vee beems and of course the terminated folded dipole another dummy load.

Thanks for putting this together. Any concerns with the Anit-sieze lub impacting connectivity between sections? I'd also be interested in yoru experiences using this antenna. Thanks!

I talk to New Zealand from Florida with one of these on 10 meters. It’s my first antenna. Why is this a dummy load? Please explain why this antenna isn’t good. I’m still learning

Not a bad Multi Band Antenna for it is if going vertical is the only Way for you to get on the Air from home or a tiny Vacation Place

I don't think the lock washers should go underneath the heads of the bolts. They should probably go under the wingnuts.

Not had good experiences with this antenna , I no the bands are a bit up and down a to the moment but at 20ft I couldn't hear anything but a
Hash massive noise floor ,I did try a few things but for the cost it's not good ,my well brook loop was pulling things on 20mtrs that this antenna wasn't getting or was under the noise.prob works ok if u live on top of a hill or something.but not for my garden it's packed away I gave up on the thing for now.
