      @@OneJuan0633been there. Done that. Get rid of it and just get the basic upgrade to an RT. I had a 16' challenger sxt for 2 years. It didnt take long for me to hate it. Having basically everything on the road easily whip past me. Firing it up and it sounds like my grandmas minivan. It sucked lmao. I bought an 07' R/T just to play with and i find myself driving that old thing more then (at the time brand new) challenger. Traded in the challenger for a charger daytona R/T in torred. World of difference. Gas milage was no different. Insurance was like 5 bucks more

    I have owned my Charger R/T for over 12 years. Mine has the road and track package with stiffer bolstered seats, and 350 HP and 390 torque. I'm a former deputy sheriff. I also LOVE this car. The tie rod ends are known to go out. I had the entire suspension replaced with uber high performance Moog and Bilstein components. Now corners like a race car on RAILS. was fun to ANNIHILATE a Porsche in mountain corners. Big, comfortable, FAST, quick, safe, corners great, looks amazing - I like the 2006 body style best more than the later models. Souds quiet when cruising, good muscle growl when you step on it.

      It's probably a decent idea. Here anything 8 to 10 years old can already be ruined by rust. Mine was from out west and it was pretty clean, some body damage but it drove great after a few neglect repairs, A couple tie rods, some tires and brakes...all neglect items really. No big problems exactly, just after 16 years and about 130k miles, suspension parts get worn out and make noise and have play. No engine problems or any other problems really. Somebody prior put some dumb aftermarket chinease Headlghts in my car so the low beams had some weak lights in it...H1 or some small crap. New assemblys and ill be fine.

    • @therealsyxx
      @therealsyxx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The older 1s are built better. They have bullet proof Trans the only thing is get. Mechanic to disable the function that shuts down half the cylinders. Because something goes wrong and causes catastrophic engine failure. Look it up. But once that is disabled you solid. These will last longer then the next body style rt and hellcats. Even the hellcats have issues. They are to strong for the suspension and Trans. I had a 2016 sxt. It was made horribly. I currently drive a lexus gs 350 and I'm still looking for this car as a second car. I'll take 1 with thousand miles if it was kept how this guy keeps his. He's not destroying his car. But if it was driven hard and not taken care of I'll pass.

    I'm from Michigan and am very familiar with the American Motor Companies! My dad retired from GM and I am telling you. When it comes to owning a American made car. No matter which one you buy! Make sure it wasn't made on a Monday or a Friday. That's It!
    If it was assembled on Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, you are going to be making you tube videos about how reliable your model is, and really it's just because of the general moral of the workspace that mirrors your product.
    No matter what it is!

At first it did it a couple times only when I came to a stop but it would always start right back up. I took it to a mechanic shop to get a diagnostic and they did one and said they think it’s something with the computer not giving signal to the transmission but they would need a few hours to “get in there” and find out exactly what’s wrong with it and they told me they charge $150 per hour. Does anybody have any idea what it could be before I spend $450 for them to tell me I need a fuel filter? My 2006 R/T came with the spoiler and sunroof. Also, you can hear my engine more because of Flow master exhaust. Mine is at 144,000 miles black metalic paint, in fact it's all black. Drives great and fun to drive. I would not call these the most reliable though. I've replaced the alternator, battery, cooling fans with wiring harness as well. The harness cost almost as much as the fans. Also replaced the rack and pinion, and a plastic shifter part in the console (that was a pain). Gas caps keep triggering the check engine light if not tight enough. Otherwise, it's been pretty reliable. It's been some time since I had to repair anything now, I did have to repair wires going to one of the injectors due to squirrel chewing it. I will have to replace front wheel bearings at some point. It has a killer sound system which I seldom use as I'd rather just hear the engine. Now that I'm retired, I only drive it about once a week.
    The newer Hemi's at around 2012 and up are crap now. Cams and lifters go out due to a change they made.

    HI HO & NICE GREETINGS FROM BAVARIA (german..) :)
    Thanks 4 this nice Video about the 1st of the 1st LX Gen. Charger R/T´s ...I´ve bought an 2006 Charger R/T Daytona at NC,US & shipped it to Bavaria and now i´m also a proud owner of one of these American modern Muscle, what are fantastic in my eyes, also because they´ve all what made the American Cars of the Golden Era (1950-70s) so great an fantastic, mixed with the modern goodies like the axles, the whole Platform inspired of the best Mercedes Cars....The mix is nearly PERFECT and because Mopars back in the golden Era was also known for their Unibody construction, that´s also right for these LX cars, too...Because since i´m restoring a 167 Chevy Caprice/Impala 4 Door Hardtop, what´s not an unibody, even a Body on Frame car i´m a big fan of the Boy on Frame Design for these Mid-Fullsize Sedans...But even the Mopars are right with their unibody design, but the Fords are bad since they´ve no RWD, no Body on Frame, No V8 and such things what are the most importand things in design and must have for an American car in my eyes, since they´ve canceled the Crown Vic, what was a real good design...If they had only changed the Styling to an modern muscle Styling like the Chargers or also Challengers and Camaros has, but even used the Body on Frame Design like the Panther Platform of the C.Vic has, they had done that also nearly perfect i think...But even they´ve now an FWD unibody sedan, withouth the good american style/design V8, these cars are so bad in my eyes and aren´t any option against the present Mopars. Mopar had done that Job, began with the Magnum in 2003/4 and the Chrysler 300C so good, and used that for the Charger since 2005 also in this way, that i can say; THere you can see WHY people are buying these cars; Because they´ve ALL what an modern and future American Car nd even Mopar MUST HAVE.... ;) I´m an Auto Designer and Stylist and even also with the present Charger, Challenger and Chrysler 300c i can say; THAT´s THE ONLY RIGHT WAY 4 DESIGN & STYLE THE PRESENT & EVEN ALSO FUTURE AMERICAN CAR.... :)
    I´ve many different Drawings and Styling/Design Studies for new Mopars, build on this Platform, what was so great for Mopar in Future...I´ll see if i can work with/by Mopar and help to hold this successful way in Design and Styling for future Mopars.... ;)
    Now because i know that Auto Industrie is designing cars with parts that will end their job after the Guarantes of the Markers end´s (and even ALL cars of EVERY make has that "issues" build in...) I´m even looking for the kinds of cars that has issues what i could fix with a little bit of modifying the car. And when i see that there are issues with the dropping valve seats and the "Hemi Tick" (What even ALL Chrysler Engines has, not only the HEMI´s) i see and think that these engines are running a little "too hot" and so i´m modding the cooling system and Motoroil System. That´s even the way of me, when i´m choosing a car that i take care of the most common issues of this car & what i could do to fix the issue before the possibility will possible that my car get also these most common issues... And the 2006 R/T Daytona (Top Banana!) is 136.000mls & now even 15 years old....and in an interesting beautyful condition for that age and mileage. So i´m also more afraid of the "most common issue" of the dropping valve seats, because it´s often this mileage when this come on. And in my eyes these engines are running a little to hot especially at the area of the combustion chambers/Valves...And the fist thing i´ve bought to do something against the HEAT EXPANSION OF THE ALUMINUM HEADS is an 180°F/82°C Thermostat, but even that wouldn´t be the only thing of modding against this possibility of that little too much heat expansion of the heads. I´m also looking to get an extern Motoroil radiator/cooler and a lower temperature for activate the both cooling vents at the wather radiator...And think these things make that big different, that this "most common issue" of dropping valve seats wouldn´t come on my Charger. It´s an issue what could be handeled withouth big investments ;) Andt there is to say, that the cars with this HEMI´s, even an V8, Naturally aspirated are on of the best designs of an most reliable/longest lasting engine designe...And even all these TINY ENGINES, with that big Turbo boosts to get the power are one of the badest ways/designs out of stock, what is even the most used kind of design at most common present cars. I´m also an guy who says, an NICE engine beginns with the 5th Cylinder! I don´t like 4 Cylinder engines ore less Cyl....Not ony because 4 Cyl. Engines has even that boring sound, also because they´re to tiny for the weight of present cars what are using 4 cyl. Turbos. The Mopars with the HEMI are meeting ALL MY "MUST HAVE" in Auto Design, an also STYLING,too! :9 These are even the best way of present and future designed & styled American Cars.:)
    I also love Alfa Romeo, especially the 5 Cyl. Diesel ( 2.4 JTD & JTD 20V ) mostly in the beautyful Alfa 156 and drive these cars since 2004. And Alfa was the founder of the Commonrail Diesel Engine with the 2.4 JTD in high/mass production and introduced the fist "Motorsport Diesel" with these Engines back in 1997. I sold 4 Alfa 156 2.4 JTD that was driven so hard by me, often track use and daily even on and over the limits...that had more than 450.000 - 800.000 km with the 1st Turbo, 1st Clutch, 1st engine & never opened, ...they hadn´t any Motoroil consumption or leaks, with that kind of use and age...I still have also one Alfa 156 with 2.4 JTD 20V Inline 5 Cyl. what is beautyful and so sporty...It´s an very rare, or even not so common car at Germany. And that´s funny, because in my eyes these are the best and bullet proove Diesel cars ever made at europe. And now the Charger is also an rare car at europe. At Europe the LX cars was sold as Chrysler 300C, also 300C Touring..But even not as an Charger. I´m so in love with my Charger! I hope it´s also an so bulletprove car like these Alfa´s was. I´ll see and doing my kind of knowlede & work of modding against the most common issues, even that i get an "Bullesproove Charger R/T" ;)
    Have a great day! Hope to see more about your Charher and can you tell me what was the problem of the Wather Pump and the ECU, Please????
    Cheers Till

    My rt 06 always has suspension weak problems ever two years,winter ice bumps trash suspension right away,count on replacing everything. 1,500 in damage from normal driving wear,stupid dodge junk tie rods,loud clicking in dash ,gas gage sticking,it's a lemon,rusting underneath, shops refused to lift up,rear end leaks oil,rusted finder well ,big holes,rims chipping, costly to replace 650.00 for one from mopar,transmission acts bad in traffic.engine alway taps,junk lifters , small bolts holding exhaust manifold, brakes,if u ever get transmission hot,shut it off , it's junk,for some reason I just spent 1,500 on front brakes,four tie rods,line up , auto shop says all dodges have this problem, why don't I hear anyone else talk about the same.

    • @therealsyxx

      @@Equinsu_Ocha 6 cylinders actually lasts longer. So what's your definition of trash? Slower because if it is that's the only way you are right. And if that's how you feel cool. But to call another person's car trash because ya car has a bigger engine is weirdo shit. Cause a person n a Benz might look at ya charger and say. Trash...... now who is right is up to you. But in my strong opinion the guy in the Benz is a clown. And probably has a 4 inch dik. Hence his reasoning behind calling peoples cars trash.

      The valve seats dropping were one of the common issues with the pre Eagle 5.7L Hemi's, especially if it is driven really hard. I only have 140k miles on my 300c, so no issues yet but I'm not really hard on it either.

      @fayzooo7349 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don’t mind paying for high insurance and gas then go for an rt but if not I would settle for the SE. in my opinion I would always say go for the V8 in a muscle car , cause If you get a V6 there’s no point of getting a charger because it has the same engine as a Honda

    • @baileyhatfield4273
      @baileyhatfield4273 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd personally get the 06. They CAN have valve seat problems (if overheated badly basically) BUT its fairly rare, maintenance is key. 09/10 new heads/VVT engines have lifter problems and are just kind of a pain in some way. Getting a hemi charger would be a must for me. They are simple enough, everything is pretty easy to get at, no big problems with anything, the v6s are eh. If its an 06 with minimal rust (i live in the salt belt so everything here is normally clapped by 10 year old let alone 15, not sure where you live though.)
