The movie twists the age old trope: “you either die a hero, or live king enough to become the villain”, and turns it to “you either die the villain, or live long enough to become the hero”

@@JediMasterSp0ck both of you well said. its a sign of our current reality. The heroes of old are dead. the new heroes of today are villains and sinners that cherish life and love and morality. Humanity that has tasted freedom and joy and will do anything to proliferate life because if we don't what else is there?

In all fairness, neither were evil to begin with.
They were the villains in the sense of being antagonists to the hero. The soulless goody two shoes that's difficult to relate to at best. Where the only thing that's unforgivable is your most recent choice, but at a moment all can be forgiven again.
Both were lashing out because the hero was supposed to be like them. They felt the same hardships. Suffered the same fate. And yet they were called evil for not healing from wounds no one else cared to look at.
It's a trope that's used well rarely. It's often overdone in some way where they make the person feel irredeemable or where they make their villainy far too petty and obviously done just to antagonise the hero.
My favourite character with this trope, unfortunately due to many writers can be done well or poorly, is Dr Doom. When Richards is around, his hatred for him refuses to let him be anything more than his enemy.
When Richards is not around, he'll do whatever it takes to protect humanity.

I do still love that all of these guys basically worshipped Nemesis, including their leader, but the moment he shows up opposed to their goals they throw him under the bus. It wasn't about him caring about them, it was only about using him as a symbol.

it was about a reason for chaos. Chaos is imbecilic. Life is and the proliferation of humanity is the only reasons we observe this reality. That and to be grateful to God for our consciousness and life.

I mean the hammer was calling out to him in his head as he got hit with it then it glowed also…then it glowed more as he grabbed it and there was a shockwave once it came into his possession…. That’s a lot of shit to prove it was his lol

It was a symbol for grief and suffering. It was a symbol to Joe for hope and repentance. It solidified Joes brothers sacrifice in his heart as a hero and allowed Joe to become what the world needed not what the world wanted.
