Those "on-purpose wrong notes" as you call them can be heard throughout this performance; but your description of them is incorrect. By the way, I have absolute (perfect) pitch, so there's nothing I can't hear.

Yeah, they're called tone clusters and they're used a lot in modern classical music, and Ben Folds uses them all the time as big percussion hits (usually in the low registers) in his rock music. But I've never heard them as part of the melody like they are here. I agree ... those clusters really make this performance stand out. I love them!
Around ten years ago, I happend to find this man´s versions of Chopin. And today this just got in my face. Thank you, mister Plat, it´s a honor.

When i first saw this video in August of 2020 i decided to pick up the piano with no previous knowledge of any instrument. This performance means so much to me, i promised someone i would play until i was this good. And yes im nowhere near but i always come back and i finally feel like im getting closer. R.i.p. I sense that when he was a very young little boy pianist, his teacher made him do a LOT of arpeggios! ((So precise and crisp. His technique. I bet he started off w/classical....) Just guessing. Cannot wait to fly to Paris from NYC and see him play LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So generous that he shares his arrangements. LOVE them
