Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Dallas. It has everything anyone needs or wants in a big City but, it's all spread out. You can't get anywhere in Dallas without a car! Dallas has some nice neighborhoods but, they're expensive! The new Freeway system built through Downtown is worst now than before! I won't move back, the traffic is terrible!
If you can find a nice place to live very near your job, you may be happy in Dallas.

Try showing the homes you get for these home prices not mac McMansons. You can find cheap housing in any city, if you dont mind livig in a slum with high crime. I moved from TX because of the high home prices and property taxes.
