Imagine winning LeMan then driving home afterwards. The greatest car ever made for me!

Imagine driving 1,000 miles to Italy, doing the Mille Miligia tribute, taking a V12 class win and driving home to the U.K. 1,000 miles again. Imagine doing that four times in consecutive years. I take my 599 to the shops in between, you can still do it today. Pointless seeing these cars unless it’s doing what they were designed to do….
Makes me sad to see that caged animal plodding along.

@@chriscooper3384 unfortunately, just taking a short drive in a valuable car like that, .. costs THOUSANDS of dollars in maintenance (cleaning, paint correction, repairs, etc..) to keep it's $62M value up. Hence these cars mostly sit on display. and most of that time have a cover over them for protection.

Pity most of us can't afford to live in a village like that. House prices there must be through the roof. Actually, I'm in Lancashire and it's surprising how much money some people have up in the north. Been to a few local meets and shows and often I see in attendance a real Ferrari 275GTB, 250SWB and also a California Spyder (a rebodied Ferrari so I've heard not a kit car or replica) all owned by the same person. Love to know where people get the money. Money doesn't always bring people happiness, quite the opposite and people with alot of money are generally the most miserable and unhappiest cos what they've got isn't enough for them.

He was keeping the door ajar because of the heat and condensation inside the cockpit you plonker! Most Classic Car Owners do that when travelling extremely slowly..... the V12 creates a little a bit of heat! It's a racing car, so not much insulation! I did a bit of research for fun, this is S/n 3387GT, produced in March 1962. It is the second 250GTO ever produced, it was tested at Monza before being delivered to Chinetti in the States where it raced until 1965. The car was repainted red in 1962, and repainted into it's current (which were the original) colours in 1997, and was brought to the UK when it was offered by Talacrest in 2016, who sold it for $56M.

That color’s become so boring now, because literally every modern Ferrari I see is in that color. Complete Snoresville.
