OASIS: Rockfield Studios (and Wonderwall on the Wonder-Wall!)

- In Spring 1995, Oasis spent 2 weeks at Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales, where they recorded their finest moment, the (What's The Story) Morning Glory? album. Join James Hargreaves to look around both studios (Coach House & Quadrangle) & the grounds of Rockfield, retracing the steps of the band.
Correction - the band were at Monnow Valley in 93, not 94.

There are two channels I’m a huge fan of right now. This one & Vice Grip Garage. A lot in common. Both are lovely people, generous of spirit, take us in depth into what they do, are obviously enjoying what they’re doing & both are almost religiously respectful of their predecessors. James & Derek, you help hold up the world at a horrible time.

I know it's been a tough 18months for everyone, everywhere in the world but for me the last month or two have been particularly tough. I've had a lot of free time and I've spent it in my head which hasn't been an overly happy place. This video took me right out of my head for 20 minutes and back into the much better place of reliving my teenage years and enjoying the awe and wonder of experiencing where morning glory was recorded.

I lived and worked in Monmouth from 1979 to 1981 for British Telecom, then Post Office Telephones. I had to repair a telephone in the main console room. It was a handset cord change out. Took me an hour to do it Ha Ha.

James that was utterly epic! Absolutely loving your channel and how really in-depth you are taking it. If you ever are interested in chatting about the psychology of both Noel and Liam, (and why they clash and most likely will never get together on stage again ever again) as well as even Guigsy and Bonehead, not sure about Tony, as I haven't seen too many interviews with him, then I'd be more than happy to give you my time in a free video-call. Could I help to reform Oasis? Well no, but it might help those two brothers understand one another. I feel for Peggy, their Mam, most of all, something very similar has gone on in my own family and it's a sadness she has to carry and she's not getting any younger. I doubt it would have been the same set of songs because a lot of songs aired were "Noel songs". Just wondering if there are any old soundcheck clips or leaked setlists from that performance before Liam bowed out. Cheers!

Brilliant video mate. Looks like you might have enjoyed that just a little bit - you we're beaming in most of those videos! Great to see you playing Wonderwall at the top or the Wonder-Wall - I definitely think if you do go back down to do your EP then you should try to get a release quality version of it recorded and release it as a cover...
The behind the scenes stuff was all great - they all look like a great bunch of people and it's very scenic - no wonder everyone wants to go there...

I had honestly grown tired of Wonderwall over the last few years but hearing your cover in this video has made me fall in love with it all over again, so thank you for that.
