To watch our updated video on this product:
    • 4 Steps to Perfect Dov...
This video shows the basic setup and use of the Baladonia DJ-12 Half Blind Dovetail Jig.
Dovetail joints are as traditional to woodworking as you can get. Years ago, cabinetmakers would saw these by hand and clean them with a chisel but with modern technology comes a much quicker and easier way to create dovetails.
While dovetails are quite specialized and only generally used for ornamental purposes these days, you can create simple but stunning boxes of many shapes and sizes using the Baladonia Dovetail System.
Being a Baladonia Tool, the dovetail system is quick and easy to setup and you’ll be finishing your first dovetails in less than half an hour!
The Baladonia system comes standard with a 1/2in half-blind template for the most simple of joints that can also be used for assembling drawers. Also available are a range of templates that are more attractive, interesting and unique for that extra wow factor.

Fabulous! Thank you even though this is an older video. I watched several, and they all sucked. Nothing but complaining about how bad the jig was, and/or not explaining all the reasons for doing things like spacing, how to space, where to place the boards, etc. I wish I had watched your video first. I bought the jig on clearance the other day, and I am a total beginner. I appreciate your clear and thorough explanations.

    Too many adjustments.

You probably should not have added the sound from the router. It's to loud and I cannot hear your voice

Very clear and precise instructions. So much so that I am now definitely NOT getting one.

Because of the adjustability of the top finger plate assembly be sure to maintain the 3mm clearance each time you place the wood into the jig, otherwise each drawer will be a different size than others and not square.

Great vid, very informative on the setup. Just a comment about cutting direction. Seems it depends on the hardness of the wood used whether a right to left or left to right pass is used with these jigs. Such cuts are serial inside cuts which are usually done in a clockwise, or left side to right side motion across the jig. The cutting edge of the bit can't dig into or drag. The dress cut can be done right to left where the chance of grabbing and dragging is nil.

This jig and the Grizzly jig and the Woodstock jig and the Harbor Freight jig all appear to be the same. You can buy different combs from Grizzly if you want something else than 1/2 dovetails. Harbor Freight manual is crap but you can download the Woodstock jig as a PDF from various sources and it is pretty good. There is a good setup video for the Harbor Freight version on TH-cam.
