iOverlay is brilliant. I did not know that is what Race Control was for. Going to use that while spotting for my son in the 500 tonight. The one thing I haven’t seen you use that I really like is the Spotter bars. They are a combination of Spotter Lights and Radar. It’s really handy for knowing exactly how close you are to clearing a car or being clear. And they often let me know about a gap before my audio spotter when he is being chatty about multiple things at once.
The race control is nice for afterwards going though incidents but also in endurance as spotter to quickly go to new incidents to check if they could effect you.
It's a good bit of kit, been using it for a while. In regards to it being free, initially it was going to go paid when it came out of beta but the lead dev has changed his mind and will keep it free due to how popular it has become. That was said on the discord a few months ago, so unless they changed their minds again and I missed it, it should be free forever. You can buy them a coffee if you really like it and want to support them.
Already using it for a very long time. One of the best things (imo) is the fuel calc. It’s nearly always bang on! Big big kudo’s do the (Dutch) developer and still offering it for free! Fir the rest it gives you what you need, highly customizable and low on system resources. And the race control screen is a banger to see incidents.
I've been using iOverlay for a couple months now. I started using it right before the Roar before the 24 special event. For me, not doing multiclass much, the Traffic Indicator overlay was a killer feature. Pretty sure it helped me survive the whole race.
Noone on ytb shows the spotter, incident bar and trafic indicator which are actually the MOST USEFUL and incredible features while racing with iOverlay.
Apologies if this has been asked already but when you press F6 to enable the location of each overlay does this software allow each one to be moved across a triple screen setup?
@5:50 you said RaceLabs would block out iRacing areas where the overlays were. You have to click "Lock" in RaceLabs and it will allow you to click-through the overlay.
For iracing overlays, can you flip through info pages like you can for a blackbox with the wheel? Or does the blackbox still show up under the overlay?
@@timt8199 Racelabs definitely has more features but that’s mainly for the paid version. iOverlay is free and they added more features so now I only use iOverlay.
iam lloking for something like the helicorsa app in asetto corsa, which indicates if a car is left or right of you, iam on single monitor and i would be grerat for multiclass to have a tool that indicates a car near your own car...does iOverlay has something like this or do you know a software which can do this ?
Thanks for describing iOverlay. I've wondered what features it has. But RaceLabs still has so much more. If you're using Free RaceLabs these same features are available (minus Track Map). Yet RaceLabs has more than the ones you've described here. Plus RaceLabs paid version has even more great overlays that i haven't seeing other overlays build yet. Examples (free version): Blind spot indicators; horizontal standings; Custom Dash Panel with # of laps remaining or time remaining, track temp, RPM, Brake bias all in one overlay. (Paid version) has +15 overlays including: Radar, input telemetry, Head2Head sectors, laptime comparision vs the field.
Hey guys looking for some help. I would love to try this but the issue I have is I am running my iracing at 1920x1080, which is not native resolution. So in order to have it work in windowed mode it make s it run like garbage cause it bumps me to native resolution of 3840x2160. My poor potato cant handle that. Is there a work around? Thanks in advance.
It says iracing should not be full screen or will not work properly, but when i change to what it recommends i get a border which is super annoying. How on earth do you keep full screen and get it to work ? Also even with a border and inputs selected it still wont show my throttle and brake inputs. As usual in my life every basic thing has to be complicated or not work.
Whenever I try to add overlays, I lose framerate and the game becomes much more choppy and this also happens when I exit full scream during the Iracing simulation. Is there a way to prevent this from happening at all?
Anyone else having issues with the Standings window? it never launches when I open the overlay, and when I finally can get it to launch its frozen at the point that it opens and does not update at all. Otherwise I love the program!
Racelabs, a bit more ram and cpu. But on a modern system I think it's unnoticeable. This uses 350 MB and RaceLabs 1GB with the same 4 overlays that I use. Racelabs for me is prettier, but iOverlays has everthing for free and with less system resources if that is a problem for some. I started using it at a 2nd take. At first I return to Racelabs. But now I'm on iOverlays for stay I think !
I tried iOverlay but didn't like how it forced me into windowed mode. Is there a way to fix it? I followed their instructions but I couldn't get it to work for me.
@@RX120D F6 did not work as per the Dev instructions. I figured out that Fn F6 did for me; therefore others have this same issue. I feel it is criminal to force a user to use the Dev button(s)....allow mapping like most everyone else. That said; once I got it up it is a nice app for free.
The problem is your keyboard not the application. Your keyboard defaults to requiring the FN button to use the function keys instead of the assigned controls on those keys (volume, audio playback controls, etc...) Where's the setting to see the live SR or iRating change?? I've seen it in Matt Malone's races and here as well. Clearly I'm looking in the wrong place.
iRating setting must be on for the overlay you want to display the gain in. There is a clickable "settings" element to the right of the iRating item. Click it.

Awesome Thanks Ollie!! Racelabs always has issues with endurance races it drives me bad lol
Looks brilliant, SDK Gaming also has the same type of Race Control in case anyone was wondering

Anyone know if this app is usable for VR users? Thats the one downside to driving in VR. the overlays for the most part dont work.
