    Just worked out. I'm now eating my salad with lime and rice vinegar. I also eat homemade seitan. I'm not afraid of potatoes. I also enjoy all kinds of beans. Enjoying my life at age 60

    16/8 can be anxiety forming for some. 12/12 skipping breakfast makes sense for those on the rush to help reduce that anxiety.

    Hi AJ !
    I have 2 questions 😊
    My husband who is not vegan because he said he cannot live without meat at all bought Dr William Li's book a while ago but hasn't read it! not yet!
    Dr Li said he follows a more mix Mediterranean/ Asian diet. As we know that types of diets include some animal products! Dr Li isn't vegan! it's a little confusing! what is your view on eating like dr Li? why did you interview him here?
    My other question is :
    My husband has visceral fat but because his numbers at his last medical check were ok he was told by the doctor that he is super healthy!
    What medical test do we have to require to assess that fat? 😊btw I love your show!

    • @broddr
      @broddr 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You would need an abdominal MRI to accurately measure visceral fat. But, as Dr Li said near the beginning, there are home devices that can estimate how much visceral fat you have. They do this by sending a variety of radio frequencies through your body. Different tissues absorb different amounts of RF energy at different frequencies. These fat measuring scales then report visceral fat using a dimensionless number (i.e., not in pounds or kilograms). So 1-12 is OK, 13-15 is bad, and 20 would be very bad, all the way up to 59. But again, those aren’t pounds, just a ranking.
      Search for “visceral fat measuring scale”. They range from $30 to $350.

    • @darjeeling9116
      @darjeeling9116 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @broddr thank you! I wonder if those home fat measuring scales are really reliable or just a marketing thing!
      Maybe there is a specific lab blood test or something else that can detect and assess the plaques of fat in the belly and therefore the arteries even when the medical test numbers come out good !

      Not everyone she interviews is vegan. She personally is an ethical vegan does not promote animal products. However, she has people from various backgrounds who focus on the reduction of overly processed foods and lean heavily towards more plant based eating.

      Many doctors give good info online but they also know that everyone is different and results will vary from person to person. Also, being that they're not our personal doctor they can only suggest that we see our personal health care provider.

    Dear chef AJ. In the persute of having these daily interviews, you bring in people who advocate eating fish 3 times a week,, saying oils are healthy for our brains etc. So, what are we to do. Aren't we confused enough? Now, even you delivering confusing messages???? Of course his books are best sellers.... People like to hear good news about their bad habits...
