The Mk II might be the weakest of the Duelling Sword variants - it lacks the Mk IV's single-target damage and the Mk V's incredible dodge distance. But thanks to the Zealot’s powerful melee buffs, even the Mk II is still ridiculously strong (will still outperform many other melee weapons). As shown in the video, it has no trouble clutching or melting bosses. So if you're looking for a slightly different experience, I'd recommend giving this variant a shot.
The sword is definitely underrated and very fun. Would you consider doing a build which makes use of devil claw in the near future? Good content as always.
Indeed it is! I might feature the Devil Claw in the future, though I’m personally not a huge fan of it. I don’t like the idea of parrying an attack you can see, only to end up blocking one you couldn't because enemies phased into each other. That usually results in trading hits (death if you were trying to parry an overhead), which is frustrating. But who knows - maybe I’ll give it another shot down the line!
@xstreamdray I don't particularly like it either but I was hoping to see some footage of you using it as I find I learn a lot watching you play weapons I have inexperience in. Your commentary kinda confirms my feelings about it overall. Thanks Dray!
If you want to see somebody utilise Devil Claw to its fullest, try Telopots. Once you learn the parries, for example fighting monstrosities can be very fun (except Beast, I hate that thing)
The only things wrong with the other marks of dueling sword is they aren't the Mark 4 and it was a Psyker weapon for so long and they have tons of aoe, horde, and special options where the 4 is the perfect anti boss and ogryn weapon that they just struggle with otherwise.
Dueling sword is way too OP. The time it takes me to charge special heavy with the thunder hammer and kill 1 crusher, a zelly with dueling sword can take out two crushers. I’d be happy with another buff for thunder hammer to compensate lol
Would you please point out some time stamps where Thy Wrath Be Swift was impactful here? My build has Swift Certainty and Retributor’s Stance instead since they seemed more helpful, but I might not have noticed the true value of Thy Wrath be Swift.
@@Sarah-Caito no he was not stunned out of his Fury charge. The charge canceled. Thy wrath be swift is one of the most potent talents in the game for something that you don't directly see what it does. Any time you don’t see me getting stunlocked by melee or ranged attacks, that’s Thy Wrath Be Swift working its magic. Getting stunlocked is incredibly bs, and I can't believe devs keep putting it in games in 2024. Normally, I'd say it's less crucial. However, with the game's current state: silent specials, server rollbacks, and all the glitches - I want contingencies for when bs happen (especially in true duos where a single instance of bs can instantly end the run).
@@xstreamdray Darktide would be way too painful to play without spidey sense for me, I've found multiple doors where sound either doesn't go through them or is incredibly muted, weird missed or repeated imputs, non-registered attacks, lots of unexpected results as I keep focusing on auric. Thanks for answering my questions, you've helped me get to where I'm only playing auric (I'll play whereever I can get the most reliable teammates on average).
The actual difference between 60% & 80% Cleave Damage isn't that noticeable, especially when you consider that you're mainly cleaving with light attacks which have lower base damage anyway. Movement speed is one of those things that will lead to big benefits in the end even from small bonuses just because you move a lot. Moving slightly further can also be the difference between getting hit or not. Besides, I'm a mobility guy that likes to go vroom vroom.
@@xstreamdrayI took the time to check what the numbers for the mobility stat actually mean. When you sprint from one side to the other in the Psykhanium with a knife that has 11% mobility or one with 78%, the difference is only 12.04 seconds and 12.67 seconds. For dodges, the difference is between 18 and 19 to get from one end to the other. With a knife that has 61% mobility, the number is again 18. So, in essence, it doesn’t really make a difference.
Playing with Mike: few bs happens here and there Playing with me: All bs that can happen will happen and you die 😐 I'm honestly getting really tired and been playing a few normal Damnation to not stress too much, not only that but with a controller and playing on a 6.7 inch phone.
II've watched another pro Zealot use a MK5 Duellling Sword and absolutely dominatate. The "Distance" and "Defense" stats stacked is able to keep dodge-based Blessings like Agiity and Prescience up at nearly all times; it has a better mized Horde clear animation than the MKII and esoecially the MKIV (which has by far the worse). Otherwise, the MKII can simply H1 -> Special to instantly loop into H1 again. Its stab game is amazing. Both MKII and MKV are severely underrated because they're not as good as the MKIV straight "out of the box" - but once you get your blessings, equipment, talents, and moveset memorized I genuinely think they are better, th-cam.com/video/Kh13FVxvMbE/w-d-xo.html --> watch how good thing thing is against Hordes, single target, and general gefense. Do you consider riposte+ precog the strongest blessing combo for the dueling sword?
Pretty much.
I might be wrong... but I think MKII heavy stab actually has same damage as MK IV. You may want to check that in Psycarium though.

Tacaxes and Combat Blade Mk III can be way more Carpal Tunnel inducing lol

Funny I got a build exactly like that but i used 25% damage reduction on dodge. Or I just take the perk 25% damage close ranged and Unyielding
I've always felt like the duelling swords are amazing mutie killers, what do you think?
They are! Keeps you very safe even against Mutie waves!
Do yourself a favor and get "Stimms Pickup Icon" so you stop standing in front of them, guessing what it is 😂 idk how that mod isn't basegame ngl
The new patch broke some mods but I didn't know which so I mass disabled a bunch of them lol. Thanks for reminding me to activate it again!

Yeah so between a stat that really doesn't make a difference and a stat that makes a very small difference but stacks up, I choose the latter.
Ironbreaker bot is better at surviving and killing specials than like 3/4 of legend players and like 1/2 of cata players.
