- In 2021, a rising star receiver named Kenny Golladay signed an incredibly lucrative $74 million contract for the New York Giants, a team that hoped to see him be a part of its rise. The Giants found success, but Golladay went missing completely. Have you seen him?

Glad to have you back king
Looking forward to that
There were "allegedly" some character issues from his time in Detroit. Cops called, GF refused to press charges from what I've heard. Was happy that we didn't sign him for big money in FA.
Expecting a “The Death of the Running Back in today’s NFL” video soon
Loved the vid. Great to see you back posting again!
I’ll miss Andrew Thomas having more TDs than than Kenny Golliday for the majority of his Giants career
xavier mkinny had 2 more than kenny
Don’t forget KG had that one incredible block in the playoff 😂
You
Difference between lions Kenny and giants Kenny is ball placement. Watch how many he drops in NY below his shoulders. Then watch his highlights in Detroit. All above the shoulders
@@ericpettit3889 good point
For the life of me as a Lions fan, I could not understand why Kenny could not put it together on the Giants. The tangibles (height, catch ability, etc) spoke for itself. I was happy for him when he got paid. Then he just... disappeared.
That’s what hurt the most for us Giants fans. We thought DJ had his #1 WR finally and he let everyone down and robbed the Giants.
At least he wasn't as bad as Ebron
I thought it's because he's a jump ball guy and the qb is too conservative
As a Bills fan, the writing was on the wall. He only played 1 full season out of 4 or 5 before signing with NYG. Many knew he was robbing them. Didn't deserve close to what he asked for.
@@theultimateogrelord2783 his strengths are Danny dimes weaknesses. I cant remember the stats but I think jones is awful at downfield throwing outside the numbers.
In this new age of analytics it should of been so obvious to the giants. They really dropped the ball on that one
you’re not sneaking LA Noire music past us - you’re just not
But apparently he sneaked Taxi Driver music past you

The first MVP bet of the year being on Kenny Golladay is hilarious, the sports world truly is a magical place
To understand how insane that is
He wouldn't even need to be the best WR in the league he would have to get a historical season
No WR even won MVP in a league that watched Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss and Jerry Rice
@@TheJunmengo nah if Cooper Kupp couldnt win MVP after having the triple crown, with the second most yards and catches ever, and with QB play not being top notch that year, i would say its physically impossible for ANY WR to ever win MVP
To be fair, it is one of those random "fuck it" bets where a random shot in the dark could net you a ton of money. Hilariously low risk with an equally hilarious high reward
@@mcurgs honestly its so lame that the NFL just gives MVP to qb's, I think its impossible for any other position to win an MVP unless the entire league of qbs all suck which is impossible.
Has to be the first time in history leaving the Lions ruined someone’s career
Roy Williams never went to the pro bowl after leaving.
Kevin Jones never broke 1000 yards after.
Golden tate too😭
I've had a labral tear in my hip before and let me tell you can it absolutely destroy your mobility if you have to have surgery on it. Now I'm not a professional athlete like Kenny Golladay, so my situation is definitely different but still
Agreed, I’m currently recovering from a surgery a month ago for my right labral hip reattachment surgery. I still obviously have more months of recovering still. But I can’t imagine how a pro athlete can move the same after a surgery like this.
Had no idea he had that surgery. Makes so much sense now.
I can understand that POV concerning his mobility that makes a lot of sense but how does that explain his hands though 🤔
@@jasonmcintyre22his confidence was shot Bc of the injury as discussed in the video
I pulled a hip flexor , so a labral tear ….. u cant tell me he’s not in immense excruciating pain every time he lifts his leg.. on top of having to concentrate to catch bullet passes .. hip n back n foot injures
As a giants fan i will say. He was always professional definitely put in the work. Never ever gave the media the cold shoulder. Always took questions even with him being awful. And didnt throw DJ under the buss. Honestly dont think its his fault. His body just gave out. Tough but it does happen.
How can he trash jones when he drops almost every pass right at his chest in his hands
@@chiapets2594 it's typically human nature to deflect blame. especially when your watched by millions. I respect that he stayed a pro.
@@chiapets2594 Most people trash Daniel Jones though so it's fair
@@johnnyslokes2712so everyone says to jump off a bridge your gonna?
I know his pops actually, KG jr was actually a beast but how he would hit the ground no one could last long unfortunately.
I feel like a not talked about issue with Golladay, was no longer having Stafford. Stafford was the perfect QB for Golladays skill set.
I was about to type an almost identical comment. 7 seasons with Megatron, there was nobody better to mesh with Golladay's skill set.
Stafford is definitely the kind of QB that can enhance what you've got or in some cases make you look better than really what you are
Nah 3:16 kinda disproves that, it was the hip surgery
No matter how far off he fell, KG19 will always be one of my favorite players EVER. He made me love the receiver position on the Lions and was one of my biggest influences playing the position. Love the dude
I think there are a lot of similarities here with Isaiah thomas on the Boston Celtics. Two guys who grinded away on bad teams for a bit. And once they fully entered their prime and got their recognition they were both in their mid to late 20’s so not “unlimited” time left in the tank. Both had hip injuries that effectively derailed their careers seemingly instantaneously. Both hip injuries severity was seemingly underplayed to most parties until it was to late.
THE GOAT IS BAAAAACK
Actually Kenny hasn't been signed yet
Golladay suffered from a debilitating injury that he tried to hide.
It certainly looks that way
And who wouldnt do exactly what he did. It's not his job to disclose how bad an injury is. That's on the team to do their homework
Aa lifelong Lions fan, I can 100% attest: none of the characterizations of his play w/ Detroit were exaggerated here. He was just money in the f#¢king bank when he played for us, & all for the price of a 3rd RD rookie contract (out of a tiny school, no less. Northern Illinois, i think). But yeah man, a ton of Lions fans--including myself at the time--were crazy pissed when his contract extension fell through (but obviously, it proved to be a genius move. I have my suspicions the Lions med. staff had serious doubts about his future even way back then, by knowing the real severity of that persistent hip injury). But i did feel bad for him AND for the Giants w/ how that all worked out. Cause he was an absolute monster for us when he was healthy. We loved him in Detroit for those 4 yrs. He just wasnt long for being a top receiver in The League. It happens. And NY were the ones left holdin the bag for it this time. Lions fans know what that feels like, believe me. All the spashy free agent signings over my lifetime that just never panned out,& yer stuck paying out all this dough, thats also counting against the cap, for basically nothing. Good god, my stomach hurts just thinkin about it. It's one of the many big reasons that havin a good team at the moment is so damn sweet for us now.
I love you thanks for coming back
Great video and welcome back!
So random but as a track runner I tore my labrum in December and because I could still walk without pain I only required physical therapy and I’m able to run right now with constant strengthening while others need steroid injections and surgery. It really is person to person.
The torn labrum healed on it own?? That’s pretty awesome bro.
And side note, but could you feel something different when you tore it? Is there an uncomfortable or weird feeling to it?
@@kev792 so its not healed, i'm still running on a torn labrum, but like with biweekly trapbar deadlifts, squats, bulgarian split squats, etc. However, with a slow return to run, I can manage pain to the point where i can "feel it" but it doesn't hurt. When I stopped running iniitally, it eventually got to the point i could walk normally, it's really just because I love running that I have to manage it with PT. I may still need surgery cause I'm trying to do like 50 miles not 20, but we're getting there.
@@robby_zhang Oh ok. Hopefully you'll get to 100%.
The consensus among Lions fans is that Brad Holmes' single best move as GM (outside of the draft) so far has been letting Golladay walk and getting the comp pick, which became Kerby Joseph.
Fantastic piece. Great work. Lookin forward to watching your others.
A lot of Galloday's problem in New York is that after the hip injury, the giants just didn't know how to use him.
Davonte Parker on the Patriots is very similar. He doesn't get separation (literally the bottom of the league ever since that 2019 season where it was Galloday) but has an uncanny ability to make contested catches. A player like that just CANT be your #1 receiver. It literally won't work no matter how hard you try. You have to use him as that kind of big-body slot receiver that is a safety blanket after the deep balls are taken out of the play. But just like the Patriots with Parker, Joe Judge and the Giants just tried to jam a square peg into a round hole because of that massive contract and by the time someone smart enough to see the problem like Daboll came along, it was too late
I don’t know if the stats would back me up but I bet Marvin Jones was used more as the lions primary read receiver
He also had an issue with Daboll's philosophy. He's heavily emphasized that nobody is given anything, that everything is earned. He meant it too, as even a rookie UDFA, Tomon Fox, made the team where vets got cut. If not for the fact that there would've been that enormous dead cap hit that would've put the team $10M over the cap if they cut him he wouldn't have even made the team. Golladay's "I should be playing regardless" comment really highlights how opposed they were. Golladay was never outright hostile and he was a good soldier who followed orders but there was clearly never any buy-in and even as a fan you could see that it was messing with his head. Add into that New York media and it's a tough situation.
That said I remember during the 2022 season multiple commentators who are directly associated with the Giants even suggest that Golladay should meet with the team psychologist. I don't think anyone would say that unless they knew something we don't. I remember Nate Solder also getting a huge contract from Dave Gettleman and playing like shit - his son was battling cancer. I think there's something more to it that we won't know for decades if ever.
@@QwertyCaesarvery well said. Daboll really meant it when he said you gotta earn your playing time, whereas Golladay felt like he already earned it. and then by the time we were 7-2, Daboll realized we don’t need this guy w a bad attitude.
at least now Devante Parker isn't the #1 receiver in NE right now, its Juju Smith-Schuster for now.
@@marcjohnpaule.pragata9564 yeah that's not an improvement
Kenny G firing off _My Heart Will Go On_ in the background at the end was simply a glorious choice for music.
Could make this a miniseries with a couple other people, like Allen Robinson
or Justin Jefferson
Allen Robinson will be interesting this year but I agree
Good to see ya uploading again
He was so good in Detroit. I would love to see him get a chance because we know what he can do.
He got money and probably lost that hunger
He's had a chance the last few years and he dropped the ball.
He can’t do anything anymore. Doesn’t have NFL level athleticism after all the injuries. Can’t get off the LOS.
Nah Frs as a lions I’d want him back to reedem himself Cz he looked like babytron but on like a cheap ass deal like 600$ for 2 years or sum but then when he do reedem than a bigger contract but not big j’s bonuses
Missed your content so much, you were the channel that made me start watching football, thanks for everything you do dawg🐐✊🏻
I really like your videos because it seems like you have so much fun editing. That little Golliday-GM fancam, the shitty PowerPoint, the bell sound that made me laugh out loud. Truly a joy to watch
Tremendous work, yet again! I know these videos are a TON of work, but would love to see them pop up again more regularly!!
Bro got the nickname Minitron and just dipped, much like his mega counterpart, except he retired😂
I think Calvin Johnson could have came out of retirement at age 36 and put up better numbers with the Giants than Golladay did.
Its great to have you back man!
I laughed at the Gaints for the bag that they did trow at him, but man his story is tragic after all..
Kenny golladay is the definition of took the money and run away with it. Shows you how much the nfl world can change when when golladay was one of the coveted free agent recievers heading into the 2021 offseaon to now still a free agent
@1:12 - You cold for that one man lol !!!😂😂😂😂😂
Great to see you back, best NFL stories and content on YT!
Fantastic work! This was a fascinating watch.

Glad you’re back man! Love your videos
This was brilliant!
Legit a really good video dude
Welcome back, amazing video as always!
Wow, STE is back.
Glad your back, love your content
When the world needed him the most, he came back
Not all injuries are equal and in my opinion coming back from injury is the hardest thing to do in sports Certain injuries can absolutely ruin players strengths and take away what made them special in the first place.
Weird coincidence that I've been binging your content the last couple days and you uploaded a new video today
Despite how massively underwhelming his production was, I still have love for Kenny. He was relatively drama-free and he did what was asked of him by Daboll, despite it being the less glamorous part of being a reciever
I love Kenny still
Me too, I'll never forget that Falcons catch
I remember Kenny G on the lions, where i would be so pissed every week that he wasnt getting consistent double digit targets. He was that good and his chemistry with stafford was amazing. And then he wanted more money than the lions could afford considering the state of the team after Patricia was fired, and i thought for sure he would do great with the giants. Its pretty sad to see that it not only didnt work out but his career was destroyed
Had been thinking this week if you were still around. And you are. Always loved your style of vid. Hope you're well.
HES BACK. been watching your videos since you had 100's of views on a video. now you got 100k+ W
The edge has been set.
0:55 Tyler Lockett as baby yoda is the cutest thing i’ve ever seen
Lions fan here, before the end of Kenny's time in Detroit you could tell a big disappearing act was on the way. Not a shocker at all to see his decline in New York.
Extremely well made video
Welcome back bro 🔥
Big step up in video quality, great job
I was there for that Giants vs Lions game. That Golladay catch was the only time us Giants fan cheered that game.
Editing is ridiculous in this one 😂 Great to see yo back!
Love these edits 😂
Welcome back 🙌🏼‼️
the thumbnail hooked me, and it ended up being great video
The king is back baby, shout-out to STE fr
He's back ladies and gentlemen
“My heart goes on” in saxophone in the background is pure genius
I was just thinking to myself, where’s set the edge?!!?! Miss you man love your vids
I see your Giants signing Kenny Golladay, and I raise you a Steelers signing Donte Moncrief.
STE with a banger out of nowhere. Love it.
I have a torn hip labrum and I’m currently just playing through it until the end of the season
Please be careful my guy
Prioritize your health. You could be left with lifelong limitations because of it. Be careful
It’s simple he went from a good qb in Stafford to a bad one in jones. Giant fans will tell you that jones has the best deep ball accuracy while ignoring the fact he rarely throws the ball down field and even actively avoids it at points
I mean he led the league in TDs with David Blough as QB
Brooo, you got me soooo good. I really thought something happend to a reciever.
The Goat Returns
holy shit a set the edge video
6:28 Jason picked up this philosophy from all his years with the cowboys
have i ever seen you? Real shit good to see you again. :P
That Kenny G background music is a very nice touch my guy
Wtf is that smooth jazz version of My Heart Will Go On lol
Man stole 72 million dollars from New York, missing person ? Nah he’s on the Most Wanted list
dude the LA noire music is such a lovely touch
As a Giants fan I'm still convinced Garrett was a sting operation sent from Dallas to destroy us from within
Is that Kenny G in the background music... NOICE !!!!!
3:25 No seriously and that also proves that it wasn't just Stafford making him look better than he was
To think giants fans were begging for this man to sign with us lol
The best thing Bob Quinn ever did was let Kenny G walk.
More like, have you seen this channel? For real tho, glad your back
He’s the only wide out iv ever notice actually throw his hands super late to the ball, I know it’s a thing but it’s the only guy I can really pick up on it.
that thumbnail is so hard
Idk about biggest WR disappearance when a certain fellow named Kelvin Benjamin exists
Well done Sir 👍🏿
Lions fan, Kenny was our light in the dark during the Quinntricia era . I always came up with the thought that Stafford probably elevated Golladay as well. If we never see Kenny in the league again his last touchdown being against slay is in a way a nice way to go out
As a Giants fan thats still recovering from the 2021 season that Garret comparison @ 6:21 has me weakkkkk 💀💀 accurate af still have night terrors ab the 3rd&9 QB sneak from our own goalline
Lions fan here, I watched golladay live at ford field, I was really sad when golladay was let go because he was such a great player in Detroit and was easily one of my favorite players in the past few years. I wouldn’t mind if Kenny G came back to Detroit, idk if he stopped caring after the money or it was the injury but who knows.
Songbird, a great Kenny G composition
Your editing 😎
Kenny went out like a pro, though. I remember he came in late in a game near the end of the season, just to throw a block, and he "BigBoy" blocked his man to the turf. Coach Daboll called out his play at the post game press conference.
He needs to go play with Stafford again
I’m not mad at Kenny, I think he wanted to be good on the Giants, I think he will never be the same after the injury.
Golladay top 15 WR in 2023 calling it.
“Hernandez pistol offense “ 👌
Took me till the end of the video to realize “my heart will go on” in the background.😂😂
The Alvin Harper of our days.
Your video was funny asf😭 but being a 72million dollar ghost would be lit like my boa in Cabo
