Anyone interested in statistics? Over the past Covid-affected year, Jonathan and Tom have given us 28 wonderful concerts online (that’s one every 13 days), all brilliantly played and filmed, featuring solo organ, piano and organ, piano and harmonium, piano duets - and one piano solo! Plus five of Tom’s delightful animations. 15 different venues (three of those in Europe), 161 separate pieces, including two complete symphonies.
What cannot be quantified are the hours of pleasure all of these have brought on every occasion and also during repeat viewings. Many, many thanks to you both for the planning of each one as well as the performances. Looking forward to lots more!!

Jonathan and Tom, when I will look at the night sky here in California I will remember that 28 of those stars represent the performance jewels you have so generously gifted us this past year.
The concert today was of nice variety.
      P.S. I want your cuff link-collection!
And Joan, whoever said statstics were dull you proved totally wrong!

Listening again today, for the 7th or 8th time - I don't really keep track. Loved the choices for opening & closing pieces - both are grand and glorious, uplifting mentally and spiritually! I was unfamiliar with Sir Percy Fletcher's work, too, and now would like to hear MORE! British composers sure did write the best processional, voluntary, and ceremonial type pieces!
I once had an LP of dances from Praetorius' Terpsichore collection, played on early instruments, and recall the main melodies were played mostly by recorders, accompanied by lutes. The organ is quite a different sound to me, and just as delightful! Surprise - Praetorius himself was also an organist! What's more, in 1621, he was buried in a vault beneath the organ of the Marienkirche, Wolfenbüttel, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Jonathan has brought Praetorius' work full circle back to the organ!
Bach is always fascinating, intricate and complicated and it sometimes feels like the organ was invented just for Bach! It is always thrilling to hear his work at the hands (and feet) of a master organist like Jonathan - it was truly glorious! Somervell's "Conversation" was beautiful - I'd like to hear more by him, too. Faure's Pavanne was soulful and sweet. Schubert's Symphony #5 always reminds me of Beethoven's 6th - it has that "pastoral" atmosphere to it, and the Allegro sounds gorgeous on the organ! Having heard all or parts of several symphonies played by Jonathan on the organ, I've concluded that almost any symphony will sound great, transcribed to organ! I've been listening to various versions of Tchaikovsky's 1st Symphony 'Winter Dreams" (quite impressed with Paavo Jarvi's rendition) and can definitely imagine it played on an organ! HINT! 😉
The views of the church, with the carved angels up in the rafters, and the jewel-like colors in the stained glass windows, along with Jonathan's remarks on the history of the church, make me want to be there, to walk around and see it all for myself! It's a beautiful, impressive church. Kendal worshippers must be so proud of it!
Thanks to Jonathan and Tom for an uplifting and heartwarming concert and audio-visual delight! Stay well and safe until your next appearance! 🌞🎹💗🎵🌟

What a wonderful treat for Easter Saturday. It’s a long time since I’ve been inside Kendal Parish Church and it was great to see it again through Tom’s brilliant videography. All of the music, as ever, was fabulous. It’s always good to hear something unfamiliar; the Somervell was lovely. On the main instrument, the new Schubert transcription was gorgeous and the Festival Toccata was a brilliant conclusion but the highlight for me was the Bach - wow! The Praetorius Dances were perfect on the smaller organ - I’d love to hear them all played on it. Thank you for a wonderful concert and Happy Easter, Jonathan and Tom!

It is rather interesting to make the artistic observation that Jonathan Scott reminds one of how no doubt the great concert organ virtuoso William T. Best must have arranged and performed organ recitals in his select transcriptions of older music and symphonies of various 19th century composers. Superb performances as always and full of imagination and superb technical skills on both manual and pedal.

Jonathon and Thomas, wishing you both a blessed Easter. Thank you for a most wonderful concert. Jonathon brought up something which I was thinking about many times. He mentioned the changing of registrations. I wonder how he keeps everything in check. Playing both hands, both feet, monitoring volume, changing registrations on three or more manuals and always having done it before needing. It's amazing how his mind must work, something most of use could probably not fathom. I've noticed he is always entirely focused on the task at hand. Such an amazing man of superior talent. I've enjoyed his concerts and appreciate all the efforts he and Thomas have put forward to bring them to us during these difficult times. Joan Metcalfe has kept explicit records of the concerts and Video7Rose commented about all the work necessary to bring these concerts to us. I'm thinking that only scratches the surface if truth be known. Thank you again and we, your faithful fans, love you. I hope the Scott Brothers have time to read some of the comments left for them so they truly know how much they are appreciated. Until we meet again, God Bless and be safe.

Another brilliant performance. I am looking forward to the next one; like others have said, it's helped me get through this Covid business

Yet another great recital: the music, the commentary, the organs and the church.
I was about to comment that Bach is regarded as the mathematician's composer, and Tom noted the mathematics of arranging stop changes.
I also picked up the comment about architecture detective work: looking at changes through eras. I do a lot of that, but in buildings far younger.

This video is so impressive, I can only imagine how the impact of a live presentation must be! I don't have access so these impressive instruments or folks with such skill in their use. Thank You for sharing what I would not be able to experience otherwise.

I can totally see why you compared "conversations about Bach" to Elgar. I can definately hear Nimrod-esque passages in there.
Thank you for showing off both organs! When performing at a venue with 2 organs which are very different from one another it's always awesome to show off both. I'd love to see more of that from now on.

Elgar-esque yes, but also reminds me of the well known transcriptions for organ of JS Bach's Ciaconna, de la partita pour violon n°2 en ré mineur, BWV 1004 by Best, Landmann, Messerer and others. I wonder if this piece by Bach was what Somervell had in his mind when writing this Adagio e con molto espressione?

Once again you have excelled yourselves. I just love your concerts - the playing and the filming are wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to bring spectacular music and sights to us during this horrible 'lockdown' period. From Victoria, British Columbia where it would be lovely to see you and hear you play our cathedral organ. A double bravo!

Another wonderful, wonderful concert - be it original compositions or be it brilliant transcriptions. I have listened to each concert at least three times, including the concerts featuring both of you. Thank you for keeping me going over the last 14 months. Marvellous performances - marvellous presentation - marvellous music - marvellous instruments. I look forward to meeting you both in person at a concert in the not too distant future. Thank you Jonathan and Tom.
